ABSTRACT

Objective: The objective was to investigate the law of three-dimensional thermal field radiation of ceramic slot microwave (CSMW) ablation antenna. Materials and Methods: First, microwave ablation experiments were performed with phantom and temperature data were collected. Second, the specific absorption rate distribution function of microwave (MW) ablation antenna was fit. Third, the MW ablation thermal field morphology was simulated based on the rapid simulation method. In addition, to determine the thermal field simulation accuracy, comparative analysis on the ablation morphology of forty clinical patients with liver cancer receiving percutaneous treatment was conducted. Results: Regarding the ablation morphology, the CSMW ablation antenna had greater long and transverse diameters and ablation volume than the polytetrafluoroethylene slot microwave (PSMW) ablation antenna (P < 0.05). Compared with the actual ablation morphology in clinical practice, the error rate in long and transverse diameters of the simulated morphology of thermal field was up to 5% and the minimum was 1.2%, whereas the maximum volume error rate was up to 9.8%. Conclusion: The CSMW ablation antenna had a greater long diameter, transverse diameter, and volume regarding the ablation morphology than the PSMW ablation antenna, and the thermal field morphology obtained based on the rapid simulation algorithm had a high accuracy

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze a large number of DNA mixture de-convolution data with stochastic simulation method. Methods Using the software in Identifiler, PP18D, AGCU EX20, PP21, AGCU EX20 & AGCU 21+1 system, 1 million groups of STR genotyping of mixture were analyzed. The average de-convoluted loci (L), the average de-convoluted combinatorial number (Π) were counted out. Results In identifiler, PP18D, AGCU EX20, PP21, AGCU EX20 & AGCU 21+1 system, L were 4.8, 5.8, 6.7, 7.0, 11.1, and Π were 3.71×104, 1.06×105, 3.34×105, 6.40×105, 2.48×1012. Conclusion The result in this paper has some guiding significance in DNA mixture de-convolution followed by DNA Database search.

ABSTRACT

Objective To derive and empirical validate probability of exclusion in grand-parental double single-parentage cases (PEGDS). Methods Firstly, an exact definition of PEGDSwas established, and PEGDSformula was derived based on the definition. Then the values of formula were calculated in 19 STR loci. Secondly, the simulation values of PEGDSwere counted through multi-group simulation experiments in 19 STR loci. Finally PEGDSformula was empirically validated by correlation method between the values of formula and simulation. Results PEGDSformula was all in accord with the simulation experiments. Cumulative probability of exclusion in grand-parental double single-parentage cases (CPEGDS) in AGCU EX20 system was 1-3.10310×10-9. The system effectiveness in grand-parental double single-parentage cases was a little more than trio cases, and was far more than duo cases. Conclusion PEGDSformula in this paper could be applied to grand-parental double single-parentage cases.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze a large number of Cumulative Paternity Index (CPI) data in Single-parentage identification with stochastic simulation method. Methods Using the software in Identifiler, PP18D, AGCU EX20, PP21, AGCU 21+1 system, 1 million groups of STR genotyping of parent-child were analyzed. The average rate of very low CPI (RVLCPI), the median of PI in every loci (MPI), and the average PI of 39 STR loci (PIsolo) were counted out. And calculation formula of the number of STR loci that need more testing (N) was derived. Results RVLCPI in Identiifler, PP18D, AGCU EX20, PP21, AGCU 21+1 system were 24.9%, 6.5%, 1.4%, 0.7%, 0.000 1%. On the premise of inclusion relations between every kits, the number of autosome STR loci is inversely proportional to RVLCPI. PIsolo was 1.843 2. There was a signiifcant positive correlation between MPI and PEduo (r=0.956, P<0.001). The formula of the number of STR loci that need more testing was N=?log1.843 2(10 000/P)?. Conclusion The result and the formula in this paper are effcient in single-parentage identiifcation.

ABSTRACT

To explore the effect of magnitude and duration on the performance of Cumulative Sum (CUSUM),with simulation method used on the subject after the insertion of 11 outbreak events into baseline data with Poisson distribution.Sensitivity fluctuated from 9.1% to 100.0% with specificities higher than 98.6%.Sensitivity was significantly correlated with magnitude,and increased along with the increase of magnitude.However,no significant correlation was observed between sensitivity and duration.A magnitude which was at least 2.6 times higher than that of the mean daily baseline could result in the sensitivity of 100.0%.Time-lag would be improved along with the increase of magnitude.Time between onset and detection of an outbreak was no longer than one day when magnitude was more than 1.8 of the mean daily baseline.In summary,the performance of CUSUM was influenced by magnitude,but not by duration.CUSUM had the advantage of good time-lag and high sensitivity when the outbreak magnitude was more than 2.4 time over the baseline data.
