ABSTRACT

Objective • To explore the clinical characteristics of the obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) patients with hoarding symptoms and analyze the risk factors related to hoarding symptoms. Methods • A total of 247 OCD patients and 137 healthy controls (HC) were enrolled. The OCD patients were divided into hoarding group and non-hoarding group according to hoarding symptoms. Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale, Hamilton Depression Scale, Hamilton Anxiety Scale, Neuroticism Extraversion Openness Five-Factor Inventory and Obsessive Belief Questionnaire-44 were used to measure the severity of OCD, levels of depression and anxiety, personality characteristics and obsessive-compulsive beliefs of the three groups. The differences among the groups were compared, and Logistic regression was used to analyze the related factors of hoarding symptoms. Results • Regardless of hoarding symptoms, the scores of depression, anxiety, neuroticism and obsessive beliefs in the patients with OCD were significantly higher than those in the healthy controls (all P=0.000). Compared with OCD/non-hoarding group, OCD/hoarding group had a significantly lower level of extroversion (P=0.000), a significantly higher level of perfectionism/certainty (P=0.037), and higher scores in indecisiveness (P=0.003), pathological responsibility (P=0.006) and pathological slowness (P=0.000). There was statistical significance in age (OR=0.94), extraversion score (OR=0.89) and pathological retardation score (OR=2.50) in Logistic regression model (all P<0.05). Conclusion • The risk of hoarding symptoms in the OCD patients decreases with the increase of age and extroversion level, and increases with the increase of pathological retardation level.

Este artigo é fruto de estudos do projeto de extensão O Terreiro Lá de Casa. O artigo pretende discutir o papel da cultura na promoção de vida dos homens, a partir de diversos autores que sustentam diferentes significados para terreiros, festas e comunidades como expressões da cultura ao longo da história. O terreiro, ou o espaço depois da edificação da casa, era considerado por várias culturas, um lugar íntimo, situado no espaço privado, era o espaço público familiar. Era neste terreiro onde as pessoas podiam chorar e cantar de alegria e tristeza, rezar enfrentando deus e o diabo e, também, confabular, brincar e festejar. A Festa significando desde seu valor de "alimentar na fonte primordial" até o sentido atual - no mundo ocidental - o qual herdamos por força da colonização. "De terreiros, de festas e de comunidades" como espaços produtivos por excelência, em que se desenvolvem ações, de diferentes formas e intenções, que possibilitam comunicar-se, relacionar-se, compartilhar a memória e a cultura, criar novas conexões, música e literatura, trabalhar com o imaterial utilizando o que nos é mais comum: a linguagem, a inteligência, a imaginação, criando meios para uma inventividade, disparando a criatividade. O artigo defende o reconhecimento do que venha a ser os bens culturais presentes nas comunidades em que as pessoas estão inseridas. Discute a sua importância para resistir ao rompimento do idiorritmo e da lentidão imposto pela rapidez dominante no mundo atual, mas tão necessários ao convívio e crescimento humano.


This Article, result of studies of the extension project: "the yard the house", it discusses the role of culture in the promotion of human life. From the bibliographic several with vary authors, who hold different meanings as yard, parties and communities developed as expressions of culture throughout history. The yard, i.e. the space after the construction of the House, was considered by many cultures, an intimate place, situated in private space, public space. Was in the yard where people could cry and sing for joy and sadness, pray facing god and devil, and also confabulate, joke and celebrate since it is value of "food in primary source" until of sense feast today for the western world - which inherit by virtue of colonization. For yard, parties and productive communities as spaces for excellence, in which develop actions, of different shapes and intentions, which enable to communicate, interact, share memory and culture, create new connections, music and literature, working with the immaterial using which is more common: language, intelligence, imagination, creating means for inventiveness, shooting creativity. The article argues for recognition of what will be the cultural present in the communities in which people are inserted and discusses the importance of its preservation to resist of disruption the "idiorhythm" and slowness imposed by the haste and speed dominant in the current world, but so necessary to social interactions and human growth.


Este artículo es fruto de estudios del proyecto de extensión "El patio alli de casa" y pretende discutir el papel de la cultura en la promoción de la vida humana. A partir de la investigação bibliográfica de diversos autores que sustentan diferentes significados para patios, fiestas y comunidades, este estúdio reflexiona sobre el desarrollo de estas expresiones de la cultura a lo largo de la historia. El pátio, o el espacio atrás de la edificación de la casa, era considerado por varias culturas, un lugar íntimo, situado en el espacio privado, era el espacio público familiar. Era en este patio donde las personas podian llorar y cantar de alegria y de tristeza, rezar enfrentando dios y el diablo y, también, confabular, jugar y festejar desde su valor de "alimentar en la fuente primordial" hasta el sentido de fiesta entendido hoy - para el mundo occidental - el cual heredamos por fuerza de la colonização. "De patios, de fiestas y de comunidades" como espacios productivos por excelencia, en que se desarrollan acciones, de diferentes formas e intenciones, que posibilitan comunicarse, relacionarse, compartir la memoria y la cultura, crear nuevas conexiones, música y literatura, trabajar con lo inmaterial utilizando lo que nos es mas comun: el lenguaje, la inteligencia, la imaginación, creando medios para una inventividad, disparando la creatividad. El artículo defiende el reconocimiento de lo que vienen a ser los bienes culturales presentes en las comunidades en que las personas están inseridas y discute la importancia de su preservación para resistir a la ruptura del idiorritmo y de la lentitud, impuesta por la prisa y rapidez dominante en el mundo actual, mas tan necesarios para la convivência y el crescimiento humano.


Cet article est fruit du projet "Chez nous, dans la court". Il objective discuter le rôle de la culture dans la promotion de vie des hommes, à partir des différents auteurs qui attribuent différents significations à courts, fêtes et communautés, en tant qu'expressions de la culture au long de l'histoire. La court ou l'espace après l'édification de la maison était considérée, par différentes cultures, comme un lieu intime, situé dans l'espace privé; c'était l'espace publique familier. La court était le lieu où les personnes pouvaient pleurer et chanter de joie et de tristesse, prier se confrontant à Dieu et au Diable, et aussi, comploter, jouer et fêter. La fête signifiant dès la valeur de se nourrir dans les "sources primordiales", jusqu'au sens actuel - dans l'occident - que nous avons hérité par force de la colonisation. Des courts, des fêtes et des communautés étant des espaces productifs par excellence, dans lesquels se développent des actions, différentes formes et intentions, qui permettent de communiquer, d'entretenir des rapports, de partager la mémoire et la culture, de crier des nouvelles connexions en musique, littérature, de travailler avec l'immatériel, se servant de ce qui nous est plus commun: le langage, l'intelligence, l'imagination, élaborant des moyens pour l'inventivité, déclenchant la créativité. L'article défend la reconnaissance de ce qui sont les biens culturels, présents dans les communautés dans lesquelles les personnes sont insérées, et discute l'importance de la préservation de ces biens a fin de résister à la rupture du "idiorythm" et de la lenteur imposée par l'affolement et rapidité dominants dans le monde actuel, mais si nécessaires à la convivialité et au développement humain.

ABSTRACT

Aim : To assess the cognitive functioning of a group of patients with OCD and a group of matched normal controls. Method : Patients of OCD were screened for selection criteria. They were assessed on Wisconson Card Sorting Test (WCST) and Continuous Performance Test (CPT) for neuro-cognitive impairments and compared the same with matched controls. Conclusions : On WCST, clinical group performed poorly, which is statistically significant. On CPT, the patient groups made significantly more wrong responses, more missed responses and took more time to respond, which is statistically significant.
