ABSTRACT

Summary The E36 experiment has been carried out at J-PARC to search for Lepton Universality violation in the kaon two body decays K l2 . A precise value of the decay width ratio R K = Γ ( K e 2 ) = Γ ( K μ 2 ) will be extracted and compared with the standard model (SM) value. Any sizable difference would suggest new physics beyond the SM. Simultaneously, E36 is sensitive to light U(1) gauge bosons which could be associated with dark matter or explain established muon-related anomalies (g-2). The experiment as well as the status of the analysis will be presented.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the image acquisition ability of intraoral scanners by analyzing the comprehensiveness of scanned images from standardized model, and to identify problems of the model. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Cast models and 3D-printed models were prepared according to international standards set by ISO12836 and ANSI/ADA no. 132, which were then scanned by model scanner and two different intraoral scanners (TRIOS3 and CS3500). The image acquisition performance of the scanners was classified into three grades, and the study was repeated with varying surface conditions of the models. RESULTS: Model scanner produced the most accurate images in all models. Meanwhile, CS3500 showed good image reproducibility for angled structures and TRIOS3 showed good image reproducibility for rounded structures. As for model ingredients, improved plaster model best reproduced scan images regardless of the type of scanner used. When limited to 3D-printed model, powdered surface condition resulted in higher image quality. CONCLUSION: When scanning structures beyond FOV (field of view) in standardized models (following ISO12836 and ANSI/ADA 132), lack of reference points to help distinguish different faces confuses the scanning and matching process, resulting in inaccurate display of images. These results imply the need to develop a new standard model not confined to simple pattern repetition and symmetric structure.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the optical imaging quality of multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) following Nd∶YAG laser damage. Methods Three hydrophobic acrylate discs used to make multifocal IOL were placed in line, and the Nd∶YAG laser was used to emit the posterior surface,mid-plane and anterior surface of the discs by gradually increasing the emitting energy to determine the damaged threshold energy of various planes.Eight multifocal IOLs were divided into 2 groups.IOL damage models were established by emitting 12 points along 12 clocks on circle of 3.0 mm in diameter in the group 1 (IOLs NO.1,2,3,4) and 6 points with 1-clock interval on circle of 1.0 mm in diameter in the group 2 (IOLs NO.5,6,7,8) with Nd∶YAG laser. The modulation transfer function (MTF),line spread function (LSF) and United States air force (USAF) test target images of the IOLs were tested under the optical aperture at 2.0,3.0 and 4.5 mm.Results The damage thresholds of laser power were not significantly different among three hydrophobic acrylate discs (Fgroup =1.100,P =0.337),and the thresholds were significantly different among different planes in the discs (Fposition =195.279,P=0.000),with the highest damage threshold in the anterior surface and the lowest damage threshold in the mid-plane of the discs(all at P<0.01).The shifts of far focus and near focus MTF curves,LSF curves and USAF target images of the IOLs under the 2.0,3.0 and 4.5 mm optical aperture after laser damage were in coincidence with those before laser damage both in group 1 and group 2.The glare phenomenon of the USAF target image was observed at near focus under the 4.5 mm optical aperture both before and after laser damage. Conclusions Multifocal IOL is vulnerable to injury when the laser beam focuses on the midplane, and the anterior surface of IOL can tolerate certain degree of damage. In standard model eye,the MTF curves,LSF curves and USAF target images of multifocal IOL was not impacted by laser induced spots injuries under different pupil diameters.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the differences of drug instructions between hospital directory and OTC standard model in-structions,and to provide reference for enhancing instruction management and reducing the safety risk of clinical drug use. METH-ODS:1 324 drugs of hospital directory in a hospital in 2014 were compared with OTC directory from CFDA websites. The instruc-tion of drug types included in OTC directory were compared OTC model instruction. According to the degree of risks which the dif-ferences may bring, differences were divided into four levels for analysis as negligible, general, important and severe. RESULTS:244 drugs belonged to OTC,of which 32.38%were different from standard model instructions. The four risk levels rates of negligi-ble,general,important and severe accounted for 29.11%,34.18%,7.59% and 29.11%,respectively. Among important risk, the difference of“indication limit”occupied the highest proportion, being 50.00%. Among severe risk, the difference of“forbidden for special disease”and“forbidden for pregnant women”accounted for 43.48% and 39.13%. CONCLUSIONS:There are problems, such as the absence of important medication information, statement conflicts. The hospital and administration departments should en-hance the standard management of drug instruction to guarantee safe and rational drug use in the clinic.
