ABSTRACT

Staphylococcus species are one of prevalent pathogens found in hospitals. Microbes that are a primary cause of nosocomial infection were isolated from a dental and medical environment it may assist the reader to explain what this is and how it differs from the 'dental health care providers and ward health care providers'. To investigate the distribution of staphylococcus species in this environment, we used vitek II to measure drug sensitivity, and further performed biochemical testing. The isolation rate of staphylococcus species from the dental and medical environment was 100% but from dental health care providers and ward health care providers were 44.4% and 33.3%, respectively. In the analyses, staphylococcus species showed resistance to diffusion of cefoxitin and oxacillin discs. These staphylococci may be sufficiently positive for the mecA gene. Our results suggest that staphylococci might be an important cause of nosocomial infection in the dental clinic.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate antibiotic resistance and antibiotics usage of meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus(MRS) and provide reference evidence in antibiotics using.METHODS Antibiotic susceptibility test was performed by biological assay system of VITEK-2.Design questionnaires to get the message of the categories,days,effects of antibacterial drug used.RESULTS Drug sensitive ratio to vancomycin,nitrofurantoin,quinupristin-dalfopristin,linezolid were all over 90.00%.The resistant ratios to some antibacterials in MRS were higher than in meticillin-sensitive Staphylococcus(MSS).The categories of antibacterials used after Staphylococcus species detection were more than before.63.01% patients′ medication was determined by antibiotic susceptibility test.Staphylococcus isolated ratio was 43.75% after antibacterial drug used.CONCLUSIONS The status of MRS is very serious.We should pay more attention to the identification and report of resistant strains and it is important to supervise Staphylococcus efficiently and medication by antibiotic susceptibility test.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE To investigate antibiotic resistance and distribution of meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus(MRS) and provide reference evidence in using antibiotics reasonably.METHODS Antibiotic susceptibility test was performed by K-B method and MRS were identified according to NCCLS(1999,2004).RESULTS Among 253 strains of Staphylococcus,meticillin-resistant S.aureus(MRSA) isolated ratio was 29.9% and meticillin-resistant coagulate-negative S.aureus(MRCNS)was 31.3%.The resistant ratio to clindamycin,erythromycin and ciprofloxacin in MRSA and MRCNS were higher than in meticillin-sensitive Staphylococcus(MSS) significantly.CONCLUSIONS The isolating ratio of MRSA and MRCNS is on rise.We should pay more attention to the identification and report of resistant strains and it is important to supervise nosocomial infection caused by Staphylococcus efficiently.

ABSTRACT
