ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of concurrent radiochemotherapy in the treatment of intermediate and advanced cardiac cancer. Methods Involved 34 intermediate and advanced cardiac patients, using concurrent radiochemotherapy treatment, the radio treatment with 3D -CRT method,2Gy/time,Qd,5 times per week, total 60Gy/6 week,at the same time, combined with gemcitabine treatment,1 000mg/m2 ,intravenous infusion of 30min.First day and eighth day of medication, forbidding 1 week and used 2 cycles. Results 34 patients all took part in the follow up,the total effective rate was 88.2%,the 1 -,2 -,3 -year survival rate was 70.1%(24 /34),47.0%(16 /34)and 26.5%(9 /34).Adverse reactions were mainly gastrointestinal reaction, bone marrow suppression, etc. Conclusion The concurrent radiochemotherapy treatment can really control the progressive disease, and receive an ideal survival rate, the adverse reactions can limit in tolerance scope.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: Laparoscopic gastrectomy is widely used to treat early gastric cancer. The advantages of totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (TLDG) are unproven, and some concerns remain regarding the early surgical outcomes due to its technical difficulty. We compared the early surgical outcomes and acute inflammatory response between patients undergoing TLDG and laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG) for treatment of early gastric cancer. METHODS: We performed a retrospective study on 212 consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic distal gastrectomy for gastric cancer between January 2008 and June 2014. A total of 179 LADG cases and 33 TLDG cases were included. After age, sex, body mass index, and American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status score were matched using propensity score matching (PSM), we compared the short-term surgical outcomes between the LADG and TLDG groups. RESULTS: The TLDG group had a shorter hospital stay (9.5 days vs. 11.0 days, P = 0.046) and less blood loss (116.6 mL vs. 141.5 mL, P = 0.031) than those in the LADG group. There were no differences in the preoperative WBC count and CRP level and the other clinical data between the two groups after PSM. Postoperative WBC count, serum CRP level, and decrease rate of WBC count in the TLDG group were significantly lower than those in the LADG group. CONCLUSION: The short-term outcomes of TLDG revealed better than that of LADG in this study. Therefore, TLDG is one of the safe and feasible procedure for the treatment of early gastric cancer.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the biological function of miR-622 in human gastric cancer cell lines of SGC-7901 and NCI-N87 cells and its role in gastric carcinogenesis. Methods We analyzed the expression of miR-622 in those human gastric cancer cell lines by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction.Tumorigenesis, migration and invasion ability of miR-622 overexpression was assessed in vitro with miR-622 precursor and inhibitor in in SGC-7901 and NCI-N87 cells. Results The expression level of miR-622 in SGC 7901 was 1.29 ± 0.57,and it was 10.96 ± 1.02 in NCI-N87 cells. The soft agar colony formation rate was 76% in SGC-7901 after transfecting miR-331-3p precursor, the ability of scratch healing was ( 11 ±7) μm,and the ability of transwell invasion was (731 ±3),compared with that in control group, the differences were statistically significant ( P < 0.05 ).Conclusions Over-expression of miR-622 promotes tumorigenesis, migration, and invasion in gastric cancer cells in vitro.

ABSTRACT

Los tumores gástricos malignos de origen estromal son un grupo poco frecuente de lesiones. Se presentan dos casos y se realiza una revisión de sus características más importantes.

The malignant gastric tumours are an infrecuent group of lesions. We report two cases and realize a review of it´s more important characteristics.
