After the concept, features and implementation types of storage virtualization technology were described, its application in storage management of library was studied.Storage virtualization technology can simplify the management of storage system, improve the utilization rate of storage equipments, and effectively solve the problems in storage management of library.

Hospital information system (HIS) has already become indispensable for modern hospital. Data from it being important for patients and hospitals, their safe storages have been important missions for HIS. The means of storages introduced in detail, two kinds of methods are put forward according to the characteristics of HIS data, which apply SAN and NAS to HIS.

Objective To improve the reliability of the core database system by ameliorating the scheme of the server system architecture. Methods Combined with practice of the hospital informatization, the security and potential hole of the database server system were analyzed and evaluated. Results Aimed to deal with the security hidden-trouble, a mini-server was adopted instead of PC server, while SAN(Storage Area Network) was utilized instead of RAID-5, and mirror copy technique was used to implement the real-time hot copy of the data. Conclusion Consequently the reliability of the system has been greatly improved.
