ABSTRACT

From an ethical point of view, the ethical characteristics of the consciousness of the Chinese national community contain an ethical starting point based on "love"; ethical path with "people first" as the core; ethical vision for the purpose of "prosperity". The consciousness of the Chinese national community greatly conforms to the teaching objectives and teaching content of medical ethics. Therefore, medical ethics teaching from the perspective of the Chinese national community should implement the fundamental task of helping students develop good morals and enhance the moral quality of "love"; take the "community of doctor-patient destiny" as the starting point of education and build the concept of "people first"; strengthen the country’s sense of responsibility of "prosperity and strength" and establish the mission of "rooting and maintaining health at the grassroots level", build a strong consciousness of the Chinese national community.

ABSTRACT

To enhance the learning stickiness, improve low completion rate of online teaching, and promote teaching quality has become the key to solve the contradiction in online teaching. In this paper, taking the teaching of biochemistry as example, based on the trigger mechanism, maintenance mechanism and migration mechanism of sticky learning, guided by the three-dimensional goal of "knowledge and skills, process and method, emotional attitude and values", the BOPPPS (bridge-in, objective, pre-assessment, participatory-learning, post-assessment, summary) teaching model was combined with online teaching. According to the interactive behavior in the course learning space, the Spearman rank correlation analysis was performed by SPSS 18.0 software to comprehensively evaluate the learning stickiness degree. The research has found that, due to its "micro but refined, compact structure and student-centered" characteristics, BOPPPS combining with online teaching can effectively make up for the time and space limitations of offline teaching and the excessively broad online teaching, bring benefits from the perspectives of "inclusion, attraction and production", promote students' active learning, and practically improve learning stickiness. The research provides a new idea for creating online "golden" courses.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The importance of Anatomy in undergraduate medical education cannot be adequately emphasised. For doctors, the human body is the focus of investigation and intervention on a daily basis; for this reason, the study of anatomy in some form, will continue to be essential to safe medical practice. It is necessary for core knowledge of anatomy to be assimilated by all doctors in order to practice medicine safely. It may be true that most doctors do not need to dissect a cadaver or study a prosection in order to practice, but if they do, it can improve their understanding and this surely has to be of benefit both for the safety of the patient and satisfaction of the doctor as a professional. Teacher-centered typically refers to learning situations in which the teacher asserts control over the material that students study. In contrast,to teacher centered learning, student-centered typically refers to forms of instruction that, for example, give students opportunities to lead learning activities, participate more actively in discussions, design their own learning projects, explore topics that interest them, and generally contribute to the design of their own course of study. Conclusion: We should develop and implement an instructional design that focuses on incorporating activelearning and student-centered pedagogy into what is previously a traditional lecture-based course. These changes will lead to sustainable improvements in student attitudes and performance. Although the changes to be implemented may require a significant time commitment in the first year ,it will essentially be a “one time investment” because it will not require extra effort to teach the revised model in the future. Furthermore, it will not only provide a model for revision of an individual course but can also provide a catalyst for institutional reform.

ABSTRACT

Traditional curricula of clinical medicine had generally failed to help medical students make efficient clinicians. Several aims can be suggested for the curriculum development in order to resolve the shortcomings. 1. To make students motivated and oriented when they learn: by early exposure, either direct or indirect, to patients and to clinical situation. 2. To deliver adequate amount and range of information: by differentiating between common basics and electives, and according to importance or frequency. 3. To encourage the students to learn how to find, decide, and organize what they need to learn: in order to make them life-long self learners. 4. To have the students follow the reasoning process of clinical decision as they learn: as well as to let them get used to the uncertainty of clinical situation. 5. To let students acquire knowledge assembled with the relevant attitude and skills: in the context as close as possible to the situation of clinical practice so that they become competent and well performing. 6. To equip students with non-biomedical competence: broadening the perspectives of disease, patient, and society. In order to achieve these aims, clinical medicine should be taught in the educational environment which is student-centered, problem-oriented, integrated, and systematic.
