ABSTRACT

El programa actual de la asignatura Pediatría, de la carrera de Medicina en Cuba, vigente desde abril de 2010, ha tratado de resolver las diferencias existentes entre los dos programas que lo antecedieron. El objetivo de este artículo es realizar un análisis crítico del tema: Recién nacido, que se imparte como parte de este programa. Se hace un análisis de cada uno de los objetivos de este tema, su sistema de contenidos, formas de enseñanza (FOE) y distribución del tiempo, a la vez que se realizan recomendaciones en aquellos aspectos que puedan ser perfeccionados. La principal dificultad que presenta el programa actual es que en él no aparece especificada la correspondencia entre los contenidos de los temas y las FOE. En el tema: Recién nacido, esta dificultad ha implicado variaciones interunidades docentes en la forma en que se imparten los contenidos e incluso, en los contenidos mismos. Se recomienda incluir un plan calendario con la distribución de las FOE según los diferentes contenidos


The current study program of the subject Pediatrics in the medical studies, which has been in effect since April 2010 in Cuba, has endeavoured to solve the differences between the two previous programs. The objective of this article was to make a critical analysis of the topic newborn that is included in the study program. Each of the objectives of this topic, its system of contents, the teaching methods and the time distribution were analyzed; at the same time, recommendations were made regarding those aspects that might be improved. The main difficulty of the present program is that the correspondence between the contents of the topics and the teaching methods has not been specified. As to the topic newborn, this difficulty implies teaching inter-unit variations in the way of teaching the concepts and even in the contents as well. It was recommended to include a calendar plan covering the distribution of the teaching methods according to the various contents
