ABSTRACT

Objective To compare clinical efficacy and safety of microwave therapy versus suction -curettage through small incisions in the treatment of axillary osmidrosis. Methods Totally,60 patients with axillary osmidrosis were enrolled from Department of Dermatology,Xijing Hospital,Fourth Military Medical University from January 2017 to February 2018.Every patient received miraDry microwave therapy on the left axillary (microwave therapy group) and suction-curettage through small incisions on the right axillary (suction-curettage group),and operation duration was recorded. After follow-up of half a year, clinical efficacy and complications were compared between the two groups. Results After 6-month follow-up,no significant differences were observed in the response rate or recurrence rate between the microwave therapy group (93.33%[56/60],6.67%[4/60] respectively) and suction-curettage group (96.67% [58/60],3.33% [2/60] respectively;both P > 0.05).However,the incidence rate of postoperative complications was significantly lower in the microwave therapy group (0) than in the suction-curettage group (6.67% [4/60],x2 =4.138,P =0.042).Conclusion Compared with suction-curettage through small incisions, microwave therapy has advantages of being non-invasive and less postoperative complications.

ABSTRACT

The case report of a 21 years patient who went to the emergency room of Tamara Bunke Bider Teaching Gynecological-Obstetrics Hospital in Santiago de Cuba is described. She presented a slight pain in low stomach and bledding in form of stains after a suction curettage 8 days earlier. A gynecological echography that showed an ectopic tubaric pregnancy of 11 weeks in the right side, with alive fetus was carried out, reason why an exploratory emergency laparotomy and partial salpingectomy in the right tube were indicated. The patient had a satisfactory clinical course

ABSTRACT

Objective To find the best way to terminate early intrauterine pregnancy through comparative observation. Methods Through comparing the method of using disposable suction curettage tube to terminate early intrauterine pregnancy and medical abortion, and the method of induced abortion with traditional metal suction tube combined with local infiltration anesthesia, the complete abortion rate, intraoperative pain, blood loss and complications, etc were observed. Results Using disposable suction curettage tube to terminate early intrauterine pregnancy can result in no pain or less pain, with a bleeding time 1 to 6 days ,3.5 days on average ,both of which less than menstrual volume, with 100% complete abortion and no complications. Postoperative recovery time of period was 25 to 40 days,32.8 days on average. This method was better than medical abortion and induced abortion with local infiltration anesthesia. Conclusion Using disposable suction curettage tube to terminate early intrauterine pregnanncy did not need cervical dilation, and had advantage of light suction, less bleeding,no pain or less pain for pregnant women,no complications, rapid recovery, and was easy and safe to operate. It was the best way to terminate early intrauterine pregnancy.

ABSTRACT

Cervical pregnancy is an uncommon life threatening form of ectopic pregnancy. It is associated with the unexpected occurrence of uncontrollable hemorrhage from the cervix. This condition is usually treated with hysterectomy. And thus the patient loses her fertility potential. To avoid hysterectomy and to maintain fertility, several conservative methods of termination have been used. We report a case of cervical pregnancy treated conservatively without hysterectomy. Hemorrhage from the implantation site was controlled with an inflated Foley catheter balloon positioned within the cervical canal. Foley catheter ballooning after endocervical suction curettage seems to be a simple and effective treatment of cervical pregnancy as conservative treatment to maintain fertility.

ABSTRACT

Cervical pregnancy is a rare life-threatening form of ectopic pregnancy. The exact etiology of cervical pregnancy is not known, but several contributing factors have been considered. Probably a combination of factors leads to cervical pregnancy. The first case was required hysterectomy. The second case was successfully treated with a unique combination of precurettage cerclage, suction curettage and postcurettage balloon tamponade. Conservative treatment has evolved in recent years, with a considerable reduction in the number of hysterectomies. We present two cases of cervical pregnancy associated with multiple risk factors in elderly gravida, with brief reviews.
