ABSTRACT
Liver failure belongs to the category of jaundice and yellow plague in the traditional Chinese medicine. It has something in common with the etiology and pathogenesis of jaundice. In Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber, the theories, methods, prescriptions and drugs for jaundice are systemically explained, and the related therapeutic principles and methods are proposed, that have profound influence on the treatment of jaundice for later generations. From the point of view upon the treatment of jaundice in Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber, the treatment of liver failure is discussed in this article. The author thinks that the "dampness, heat and blood stasis" are the pathological bases of jaundice, but the heat phenomenon is more obvious in the course of the disease, and at later stage"deficiency" is significant; the basic principle of the treatment of liver failure should first comply with clearing away heat and promoting diuresis, using the drugs heavily for heat-clearing and detoxifying to block the disease as the main line especially at the beginning stage, drugs for activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis are applied from the beginning to the end of the treatment, and in the mean time, regulation of spleen and stomach and tonification of spleen and kidney should be paid attention to especially at the later stage. The application and skill of making Yinchenhao decoction for treatment of jaundice is also important.

This article sorts out and analyzes acupuncture-moxibustion items inTreatise on Cold Damage DiseasesandSynopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamberand proposes regularities in application of and the characteristic ofZhangZhong-jing’s acupuncture and moxibustion. Acupuncture was often used for unblocking and regulating meridional qi and clearing and purging excessive heat. Moxibustion was often used for warming yang and remedying deficiency or dispersing and unblocking yang qi. Because of convenient operation, acupuncture-moxibustion therapy was often used to treatdangerous and serious diseases. Acupuncture and moxibustion were often combined with herbal prescriptions and other therapeutic methods to improve therapeutic effects, especially on difficult and complicated diseases.ZhangZhong-jing’s guiding thought ofacupuncture-moxibustion treatment first advocates treatment of diseases from the root and meanwhile, pays attention to treatment of both symptoms and causes of diseases. Secondarily, it emphasizes acupuncture-moxibustion treatment based on syndrome differentiation and especially values pulse condition, meridians and acupuncture points. It has abundant contents in treating the same disease with different methods and often selects specific acupoints. Thirdly, it favours preventive treatment of diseases, andwhether prevention of diseases before they arise or prevention of diseases from exacerbating was embodied in his acupuncture-moxibustion treatment.

Objective] Summarizing the diagnosis and treatment about the tumor-related disease from “Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber”, thus to better use classic in clinic. [Method] Sort out the book that involves tumor-related diseases pathogenesis, therapeutic treatment and syndrome differentiation treatment, combine with each of the clinical words, analyze and summarize all the clinical experience of physicians. [Results]The book is not equipped with tumor article, many cancer-related clinical manifestations of the disease description can be seen in each chapter, although not forming a system, its pulse and symptoms are involved in different parts of the tumors. And the symptoms of lung cancer, stomach cancer, and gynecological tumors also have been mentioned.[Conclusion] Visible in the book, the etiology and pathogenesis of tumor related diseases have a certain understanding. In the aspect of treatment, pay attention to combining disease syndrome differentiation, treatment and syndrome differentiation. Then concluding all the physicians clinical experience we can see that “Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber”for the treatment of tumors has great significance. And classic of traditional Chinese medicine for modern TCM clinical still have important reference value and guiding significance.
