ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the quality of a systematic review/Meta-analysis of auricular acupressure on pain, and provide decision making basis for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing. Methods:PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, CNKI, Wanfang Data, VIP, CBM databases were searched to collect systematic reviews or Meta-analysis on auricular acupressure intervention pain from inception to October, 2020. Two researchers independently screened literature, extracted the data, and used AMSTAR 2 and GRADE to evaluate methodological quality and evidence quality. Results:A total of 8 systematic reviews were included. The AMSTAT2 evaluation showed that all the studies were in low methodological quality; GRADE tool graded 26 outcome indicators, including 6 intermediate quality indicators, 16 low-level quality indicatorsand 4 extremely low-level quality indicators. The research results showed that auricular acupressure is safe and effective in chronic low back pain, primary dysmenorrhea and partial postoperative pain. Another study found that it has no significant effect, but it can reduce the rate of adverse reactions. Conclusions:These studies show that auricular acupressure is safe on pain and has certain advantages, but its methodological quality and evidence quality are not high, which requires further research to confirm.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore whether the action research on the pre-service training evaluation system of "Internet + TCM Nursing" guided by CIPP (context, input, process and product) and Kirkpatrick Model can improve the training effect of nursing staff under the background of internet and TCM nursing service. Methods:Taking 211 nurses of "Internet + TCM Nursing" in Guangdong Provincial Hospital of TCM from 2019 to 2020 as the research objects, action teams were made, and the data were collected and analyzed by various methods. According to the collected data, the action teams constructed the training scheme of "Internet + TCM Nursing", the compilation requirements of "internet + TCM Nursing", the case optimization scheme of "internet + TCM Nursing" process, and the evaluation model of "internet + TCM Nursing". After the training, the nurses' knowledge, skills and related attitudes, the general reaction and feelings to the training programs, and the evaluation of nurses' work performance by the competent leaders, medical staff and clients were compared by comparing their scores and issuing self-made questionnaires. SPSS 20.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results:The results showed that the theoretical scores of nurses after training were (85.16±6.22) points, and the case assessment scores after training [(81.22±7.03) points] were higher than the previous theoretical scores [(61.23±12.90) points] and the case assessment scores [(59.54±14.41) points], with statistical significance ( P<0.001). The results of self-made questionnaire showed that there were significant differences in theoretical knowledge, skills and related attitudes among nurses after training ( P<0.001). In the process of training, there were statistically significant differences in training content, teacher training, training implementation and training guarantee at the end of training ( P<0.001). After training, there were significant differences in the evaluation of nurses' job performance by leaders in charge, medical staff and clients improved in knowledge and skills, professional ethics, working process and learning ability, and the improvement rate ( P<0.001). Conclusion:Action research is an effective research method to continuously improve nursing training. The optimization scheme of "internet + TCM Nursing" nurses based on CIPP and Kirkpatrick Model through action research can effectively improve the training effect.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo understand the current situation of anxiety level and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nursing needs among residents during the COVID-19 epidemic, and to discuss the relationship between them,so as to provide references for maintaining their mental health. MethodsA total of 560 residents were recruited using convenience sampling method, and the selected individuals completed three questionnaires based on online platform, including self-designed general information questionnaire, Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7), and TCM nursing needs questionnaire. Then the correlation between anxiety level and TCM nursing needs was analyzed by Spearman correlation test. ResultsA total of 552 valid questionnaires were collected. The results of GAD-7 showed that the total score was (11.04±3.72), and average score of each item was (1.58±0.53). There were 328 cases (59.4%) without anxiety symptoms, 180 cases (32.6%) with mild anxiety, 33 cases (6.0%) with moderate anxiety, and 11 cases (2.0%) with severe anxiety. The analysis of TCM nursing needs questionnaire showed that the total score was (21.59±7.92), and dominated by the needs of medical knowledge (2.90±1.15) and TCM dietary care (2.82±1.13). The item score and total score of TCM nursing needs questionnaire of residents during the COVID-19 epidemic were positively correlated with GAD-7 total score (r=0.240~0.331, P<0.01). ConclusionResidents suffer from different levels of anxiety during the COVID-19 epidemic, and TCM nursing needs is on the rise, indicating that the anxiety level of residents is correlated with the needs of TCM nursing.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of TCM nursing therapies and identify the problems during the therapy implementation, in order to explore the countermeasures to promote its clinical improvement. Methods A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted, and a self-designed questionnaire was employed to investigate 218 nurses from 148 grade A class three TCM hospitals in China. Results 25 TCM nursing therapies were implemented in these hospitals. Ear acupressure therapy was the most frequently implemented, accounting for 83.5%(182/218);while wax therapy was the least implemented, accounting for 7.8%(17/218). The implementation frequency of these technologies varied significantly, 0~860 times a week. The top three of them were acupoint application therapy, hot compression of Chinese medicine and ear acupoints therapy.TCM nursing therapies were considered to be the most frequently used in insomnia, headache, edema, arthralgia, cold, epigastric pain, hypochondriac pain and fever.Storage of TCM nurses, lacking of TCM knowledge and inapposite therapy implementation were the main problems in the application. Conclusions Scientific and rational allocation of human resources, cultivation of the TCM-specific nursing professional, enhancement of nurses'awareness of Chinese medicine, establishment of a reasonable charging standard, and strengthening the risk management in implementation will promote its clinical development.
