ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the differences between the dimensions of the digital competence of teachers of the School of Health Sciences of a private university in Lima, Peru, according to sociodemographic variables. Methods: A comparative descriptive design was used. It should also be noted that a total population composed of 40 teachers was considered, of which 34 agreed to collaborate in the research. The instrument used to collect information was an adaptation of the Teaching Digital Competence Questionnaire, prepared by Javier Tourón, Deborah Martín, Enrique Navarro, Silvia Pradas and Victoria Íñigo in 2018. In addition, a sociodemographic record was addressed to teachers. Subsequently, statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS 25 software. Results: It was found that there were no significant differences between the dimensions of digital competence, according to the sociodemographic variables of sex, age, maximum level of study reached, and years of teaching experience. Even so, the differences evidenced in some of these variables could be subject of future studies. Conclusions: The dimension in which teachers have the greatest problems is security, while the one in which they have the least difficulties is problem solving(AU)

ABSTRACT

Biochemical Reaction Engineering is a professional discipline with emphasis on both theory and practice. It is the core course in the curriculum provision for students majoring in bioengineering and plays an important role in the cultivation of professional talents. However, there are so much theory knowledge, such as formulas and deduction, that students showed poor efficiency in their study. Herein, to cater the objective command of innovative talents under new education background, and to improve the practical teaching efficiency and the students' enthusiasm as well as the practical innovation capability, the teaching team innovated and explored the teaching pattern, the teaching method as well as the teaching technologies. The teaching efficiency has been remarkably improved by introducing the virtual simulate technology, the micro-lecture, the case teaching pattern attempts and the scientific platform, which can be used as reference by other peers.

ABSTRACT

The main objective of today’s graduate education reform is to improve the quality of graduate students. Curriculum development, as an essential part of graduate education, is pivotal to this goal. While classroom teaching innovation is placed in the front of curriculum development, it has become an important issue for graduate education study to practice an alternative capability centered way other than the current knowledge centered classroom teaching. We offered the course called "literature presentation and discussion" to the class 2006 graduate students at Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. This article briefed and discussed the purpose, practice of this course, feedbacks from students and problems and solutions.
