ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

The blunt testicular trauma is an uncommon lesion that occurs mainly in young men, which occurs due to the violent impact of the testes against the pubic arch. Such blunt trauma injury may cause different levels of testicular tissue and adnexal structures that are associated with male sterility through spermatogenesis disorders, autoimmune mechanisms or by injury the postesticulares ducts. Two cases of blunt testicular trauma in which infertility was diagnosed were evaluated as part of sequelar been studied.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To summarize the clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment of testicular trauma. Methods:The diagnosis and treatment of 21 patients with testicular trauma were reviewed retrospectively. Results:By using the B-Ultrasoundgraphy,It is simple to diagnose the testicular trauma. All patients with testicular trauma were treated by the conservative treatment or operation. The orchiatrophy is the common complication of testicular trauma. Conclusions: It have important value to use the B-Ultrasoundgraphy early for diagnosing and treating the testicular trauma. It can prevent the occurrence of orchiatrophy and increase the therapeutic efficacy of testicular trauma to choose the correct therapeutic approach. It should support to perform the operative exploration as early as possible.

ABSTRACT

The ultrasonographic features in 26 cases of blunt testicular trauma were reviewed. Ultrasonography diagnosed correctly in 11 surgically proven cases of testicular rupture. There were three false-positive cases, two with a large scrotal hematocele and one with epididymis rupture. there were no false-negative cases. The sensitivity and specificity of ultrasonographic diagnosis were 100% and 80% respectively. The positive and negative predictive values were 78. 6% and 100% respectively. Therefore, the negative diagnosis by ultrasonography can warrant conservative therapy.
