ABSTRACT

Electroacupuncture treatment of primary insomnia is widely used and with confirmed efficacy. The factors influencing the therapeutic effect of electroacupuncture include waveform selection, treatment frequency, stimulation intensity, stimulation time and acupoint selection. The mechanism of electroacupuncture in treating this disease mainly includes regulating the levels of excitatory neurotransmitters, γ-aminobutyric acid, melatonin and interleukin cytokines.

ABSTRACT

Acupuncture can improve the motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease, and the effect of acupuncture combined with drug therapy is better than that of drug therapy alone. The possible mechanism includes inhibiting α-synuclein aggregation, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation, inhibiting the apoptosis of dopaminergic neurons, and achieving a neuroprotective effect. The points mainly selected for Acupuncture treatment for this disease are Zusanli (ST 36), Yanglingquan (GB 34), Taichong (LR 3), Xuehai (SP 10), and other points. Early use of acupuncture and acupuncture combined with medical treatment strategy is worthy of clinical application.

ABSTRACT

The use of mechanical ventilation is more common in the diagnosis and treatment of clinical critically ill patients. However, in the process of mechanical ventilation, it may be difficult to withdraw from the machine due to various factors other than the primary disease. Among them, intra-abdominal hypertension, accumulation of analgesic and sedative drugs, and weakness of diaphragmatic function are common causes of difficulty in weaning. Acupuncture has obvious efficacy in regulating gastrointestinal function, exerting analgesic and sedative effect and improving muscle weakness. Acupuncture intervention can optimize the scheme of mechanical ventilation weaning, and improve the success rate by correcting different concurrent factors.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the influences of Xingnao Tongdu acupuncture combined with Brunnstrom staging training on rehabilitation effect in stroke patients during recovery. Methods:According to random number table method, 82 patients with stroke during recovery who met inclusion criteria in Rehabilitation Medicine Department of the hospital were divided into control group (receiving routine rehabilitation training combined with Xingnao Tongdu acupuncture) and observation group (Brunnstrom staging training on basis of control group) between February 2020 and February 2021, 41 cases in each group. Both groups were continuously treated for 4 weeks. Before and after treatment, the severity of neurological deficits was evaluated by National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS). The limb motor function was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA). The self-care ability was assessed by Barthel Index (BI). IL-6 was detected by ELISA. CRP level was detected by immunoturbidimetry. The WBC was detected by blood analyzer. The adverse reactions during treatment were observed. The clinical curative effect was evaluated. Results:There 40 cases in observation group and 41 cases in the control group were included into the statistics. The difference in total response rate between observation group and control group was not statistically significant [90.0% (36/40) vs. 75.6% (31/41)] ( χ2=2.93, P=0.087). After treatment, NIHSS score (6.65±1.79 vs. 8.71±2.61, t=4.13) in observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( P<0.01), while FMA score (69.56±9.64 vs. 61.77±10.33, t=3.51) and BI (73.72±8.34 vs. 65.86±7.36, t=4.50) were significantly higher than those in the control group ( P<0.01). The levels of serum IL-6 and CRP in observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t values were 5.95, 5.61, respectively, all Ps<0.01). There were no adverse reactions in either group during treatment. Conclusion:The Xingnao Tongdu acupuncture combined with Brunnstrom staging training can improve rehabilitation effect and reduce levels of serum inflammatory cytokines in stroke patients during recovery.

ABSTRACT

Motion style acupuncture is generally used in combination with the movement therapy of affected parts in the process of needle acupuncture. In the process of acupuncture, the "movement" of the affected part can play a targeted guiding role in "spirit" and "Qi", It can lead the mind (spirit) and Qi to the place of disease, so as to achieve the realm of "treating spirit", "guiding Qi" and "keeping Qi", and eliminate diseases by activating the self-healing force of the human body. It is not only an important operation method of this acupuncture, but also the core idea and the key to take effect. In this acupuncture method, local acupoints or acupoints on the distal unaffected side are selected for acupuncture. The exercise methods include active and passive exercise. In the treatment of depression syndrome, hiccup, angina pectoris and other medical diseases, they often cooperate with respiratory exercise, as well as massage and self feeling. This acupuncture method is mostly used in the treatment of orthopedic and traumatological diseases, and can also treat facial paralysis, depression, anxiety, stroke and stroke sequelae, hiccup, angina pectoris and other medical diseases. It is less used in gynecology, or facial features. The treatment effect is better than simple acupuncture. It can also be combined with electroacupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine to improve the curative effect. In the future, it is necessary to further explore the relevant dominant diseases and explore the exercise methods more suitable for the relevant diseases. More attention should also be paid to the thinking of exercise inducing Qi and the concept of treating God contained in this acupuncture method.

ABSTRACT

This paper analyzes and summarizes the United Nation of etiology, pathogenisis, and treatment of the tourette syndrome. This disease’s etiology is related to congenital factors, emotional factors, exogenous factors and dietary factors. The pathogenesis is endogenous liver wind, hear and spirit disorder, deficiency of spleen and kidney. Most of the patients were treated by TCM patterns differentiation, as well as empirical formula, Chinese patent medicine preparation and comprehensive treatment of traditional Chinese medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine has an obvious advantage in treating the tourette syndrome, but also has some limitations. Therefore, clinical researches should be promoted to improve the clinical level of the traditional Chinese medicine for this disease.

ABSTRACT

A study was carried out in south of Vietnam 15 Patients with Plasmodium falciparum gametocytes and asexual parasites were distributed into groups A, B and C. Artesunate was given orally at a total dose of 600 mg for 5 days in group A, 200 mg for 2 days in group B and intravenously at a total dose of 360 mg for 5 days in group C respectively. Gametocytes count was done before medication and daily after medication. Meanwhile, Anopheles dirus as a vector was employed to study the infectivity of gametocyte, The result showed that the mean gametocyte clearance time in three groups were respectively 15.4?5.0, 20.6?4.8 and 20.3?4.0 days. The mosquitoes were not infected from the blood in 2, 5 and 5 of 5 patients respectively on days 7, 14 and 21 in group A; 1 and 5 of 5 patients on day 14 and 21 in group B; 2 of 5 patients and 3 of 3 patients on days 14 and 21 in group C. It indicates that artesunate has remarkable effect on Plasmodium falciparum gametocytemia and its infectivity to mosquitoes.
