ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To explore the effect of lacrimal duct probing combined with tobramycin and dexamethasone ophthalmic ointment on ocular surface symptoms and quality of life of patients with lacrimal duct obstruction.<p>METHODS: A total of 120 patients(120 eyes)with lacrimal duct obstruction treated in the hospital from October 2016 to January 2018 were selected. They were randomly divided into control group(<i>n</i>=60)and observation group(<i>n</i>=60)according to the treatment methods. The control group was treated with simple lacrimal duct probing while the observation group was treated with lacrimal duct probing combined with illing with tobramycin and dexamethasone. The clinical efficacy, changes in ocular surface disease index(OSDI)score, levels of serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.<p>RESULTS: The clinical efficacy in observation group was significantly better than that in control group(<i>P</i><0.05). The total score of OSDI, scores of the frequency of eye discomfort, the effect of eye discomfort on daily life and the frequency of eye discomfort caused by adverse environment in the observation group were significantly decreased after treatment(<i>P</i><0.05). The levels of serum hs-CRP and PCT in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group after treatment(<i>P</i><0.05).<p>CONCLUSION: Lacrimal duct probing combined with tobramycin and dexamethasone is markedly effective in the treatment of lacrimal duct obstruction. It can effectively relieve the ocular surface symptoms and improve quality of life of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To patients with neonatal dacryocystitis underwent left Ofloxacin Gel, Tobramycin and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Ointment and lacrimal surgery combined with treatment effects were observed.MethodsIn Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Qingtongxia City People's Hospital during December 2015 to December 2016 for dacryocystitis in 130 cases according to the data analysis, using different treatment schemes were divided into two groups, 65 cases underwent lacrimal surgery as control group, 65 cases and left Ofloxacin Gel, Tobramycin and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Ointment combined treatment as the observation group, blocking characters and comparison of complications two groups of clinical curative effect, lacrimal duct.ResultsIn the observation group, the total effective probability of 96.92% higher than the control group of 80.00%(P<0.05), and the nasal deformity, nasolacrimal duct, lacrimal bone deformity multiple adhesions or obstruction and lower incidence of membranous obstruction of lacrimal duct is lower than that of control group (P<0.05);the total complication rate in the observation group(3.08%) than the control group(21.54%)low (P<0.05).ConclusionNeonatal dacryocystitis underwent left Ofloxacin Gel, Tobramycin and Dexamethasone Ophthalmic Ointment and lacrimal surgery combined therapy can improve the clinical symptoms and characteristics of lacrimal duct obstruction, and reduce postoperative complications, which may be of clinical promotion and application.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and safety of Tobramycin dexamethasone ointment in Nd∶YAG laser lac-rimal duct plasty. METHODS:Medical records of 1000 patients(1250 eyes)with obstructive lacrimal duct disease receiving To-bramycin dexamethasone ointment in Nd∶YAG laser lacrimal duct plasty were selected from our hospital during Jan. 2013-Jan. 2017. They were divided into chronic dacryocystitis group(380 eyes),small tears(total)tube obstruction group(360 eyes),naso-lacrimal duct obstruction group (342 eyes),punctal occlusion group (86 eyes) and traumatic canalicular laceration group (82 eyes)according to the lacrimal duct obstruction. In 5 groups, heated Tobramycin and dexamethasone ophthalmic ointment would be loaded in 1 mL syringe and injected into the lacrimal duct via probe, dropping the probe while pushing the ointment. They received lacrimal duct flushing regularly and were followed up for 3 months. Therapeutic efficacies and safty were compared among 5 groups. RESULTS:Cure rate and response rate of patients with chronic dacryocystitis were 85.00% and 87.63%;those of patients with lacrimal small (total) obstruction were 87.78% and 94.45%;those of patients with nasolacrimal duct obstruction were 89.18% and 95.03%;those of patients with punctal occlusion were 84.88% and 94.18%. All of above were significantly higher than 42.68%and 64.63%of patients with traumatic canalicular laceration, with statistical significance(P<0.05). There was no sta-tistical significance in the incidence of ADR among 5 groups(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:In the treatment of chronic dacryocysti-tis,small tears(total)tube obstruction, nasolacrimal duct obstruction and punctal occlusion, application of Tobramycin dexametha-sone eye ointment in Nd∶YAG laser lacrimal duct plasty shows good therapeutic efficacy and has less ADR.
