ABSTRACT
As idéias presentes neste texto fazem parte de uma discussão preliminar, que tem a finalidade de fortalecer o arcabouço teórico necessário para a elaboração de uma tese de doutoramento em Saúde Coletiva. Na introdução, é discutida a precarização com relação ao gênero, evidenciando o lugar reservado às mulheres no mercado do trabalho. Os objetivos do artigo são apresentar e discutir as características e importância do setor produtivo de bijuterias e folheados de Limeira, tendo em vista que este é marcado pela presença significativa do trabalho em domicílio desempenhado por mulheres deste município. Além disso, são abordadas questões acerca dos potenciais riscos associados ao uso de cianeto no setor, bem como suas conseqüências sobre a saúde dessas trabalhadoras. A partir de um extenso levantamento bibliográfico, procurou-se relacionar questões de gênero, saúde e trabalho, resultando em uma reflexão inicial acerca do tema,passível de ser aprofundada em estudos posteriores. As conclusões se referem a uma proposta de implementação de atividades de vigilância à saúde das trabalhadoras, como o desenvolvimento de estudo epidemiológico do tipo casocontrole e o monitoramento biológico, com a possível redução/eliminação de riscos e agravos à saúde das trabalhadoras do setor de bijuterias e folheados deste município
The ideas present in this text are part of a preliminary discussion whose objective is to strengthen the theoretical basis needed for the development of a doctorate thesis in Collective Health. The introduction discusses the precariousness associated with gender, evidencing the place reserved for women in this labor market. The objectives of the article are to present and discuss the characteristics and importance of the productive sector of jewelry and plated jewelry of Limeira, keeping in mind that this sector is marked by a significant number of women working from their homes. Furthermore, issues regarding the potential risks associated with the use of cyanide are approached, as well as its consequences on the health of these workers. Based on an extensive bibliographical research, we tried to associate issues of gender, health and work, resulting in an initial reflection on the theme, which can be deepened in future studies. The conclusions refer to a proposal of implementing surveillance activities on the health of the workers, such as the development of an epidemiological study of the case-control type and biological monitoring, with possible reduction/elimination of risks and aggravations to the health of workers of the sector of plated jewelry and fashion jewelry in this city.
