ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo explore the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on severe obesity complicated with hyperlipidemia in different genders and their comprehensive effect, lipid indexes, and obesity indexes.

METHODSA total of 264 patients of severe obesity complicated with hyperlipidemia were assigned into a male group (106 cases) and a female group (158 cases).According to their clinical symptoms and patterns, acupuncture and moxibustion differentiation therapies were applied for stomach and intestine heat type, spleen deficiency and dampness resistance type, phlegm-dampness internal resistance type, liver depression and spleen deficiency type, spleen and kidney deficiency type and deficiency and blood stasis type. The obesity indexes were weight (W), obesity degree (A), body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage (F); the blood lipid indexes were total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),low density lipoprotein (LDL-C) and high density lipoprotein (HDL-C). The comprehensive effect, obesity and blood lipid indexes were observed..

RESULTSThe total effective rate of the male group was 91.5% (97/106), and the total effective rate of the female group was 85.4% (135/158) , without statistical significance (>0.05). After treatment, the obesity indexes of W, A, BMI and F and the blood lipid levels of TC, TG, LDL-C decreased, the levels of HDL-C increased compared with those before treatment in the two groups (<0.05, <0.01). The different values before and after treatment of the above all indexes in the male group were higher than those in the female group (all <0.05).

CONCLUSIONAcupuncture and moxibustion can both improve the obesity and blood lipid indexes for the patients with obesity complicated with hyperlipidemia. The effect is better for male than for female. The methods can prevent and treat hyperlipidemia.

ABSTRACT

[Purpose]To summarize and discuss Professor WANG Yue's unique methods of using traditional Chinese medicine to treat HT.[Methed]In the process of diagnosing and treating HT with Prof.WANG in recent years, observing the method of seeking pathogenesis, treating with syndrome differentiation and selecting preferable medicine carefully, summarising Prof.WANG 's viewpoints about HT in the aspects of pathogenesis, treatment and medicine, to conclude Prof.Wang's some experience on HT. [Results]Prof. WANG treats HT from the liver and spleen. On the one hand, Prof. WANG distinguishes the etiology and pathogenesis ,on the other hand he observes the clinical manifestations. In the early stage,he smoothes and refreshes the liver or regulates the spleen with drugs, then nourishes and relaxes the liver or strengthens the spleen medicinally, together with the method of dissipating phlegm and removing blood stasis, tonifying qi and yin, embodying the law of pattern identification and treatment administration to treat the illness, which have made great effects.Modern pharmacology experiments have also confirmed the mechanism of some Chinese medicine in treating HT, providing further supports for the treatment of HT in Chinese medicine.[Conclusion] Prof. WANG treats HT from the liver and spleen and combines the actual and visual conditions together. He not only signifies the feature of traditional Chinese medicine, but also combines with modern pharmacology achievements about the Chinese medicine which has the effect of regulating immune.Prof. Wang follows the principle of integrating Chinese and western medicine, considerating both the illness itself and patients' symptoms to treat HT which is remarkable and worthy of promotion.

Summarize the compatibility and modified formulas, and proven cases attached. [Result] The cause of Bi-syndrome was divided into two types: one was external pathogen, which was caused by wind, cold and wet. The other was internal pathogen, including spleen and kidney deficiency, the unbalance of Ying qi and Wei qi and insecurity of the interstices. When diagnosing and treating Bi-syndrome ,he emphasized combining Chinese and western medicine and syndrome differentiation. [Conclusion]Zhang Yu-zhu's treatment of Bi-syndrome has evident effect.

ABSTRACT

This article classified children asthma by constitution as deficiency-cold, phlegm-dampness, phlegm-heat, yin-deficiency and yang-deficiency. We categorized children asthma at acute stage by syndrome differentiation as cold, heat, defi ciency and excess; and children asthma at remittent stage was categorized by syndrome differentiation as lung qi defi ciency, spleen yang deficiency and kidney yin deficiency. Patients with the same constitution were treated differently at different stage; and the opposite was true for patients at the same stage but with different constitution. The constitution and the syndrome had a great relationship. It was important for preventing and treating the children asthma that accurate and reasonable constitution differentiation combines syndrome differentiation in clinical treatment.
