ABSTRACT

This study evaluated the standardized ultrasound operation skill video courseware recording and online teaching of undergraduate clinical internship course in the direction of medical imaging ultrasound technology in West China Clinical Medical College of Sichuan University. Through the systematic teaching plan preparation of ultrasound skill operation teaching video, script writing, post production, recording and implementation of teaching, the results showed that 116 students (81.69%) thought knowledge points of skill operation video course were reasonably divided, 128 ones (90.14%) thought the explanation was clear, 118 ones (83.10%) thought the video duration was appropriate, 121 ones (85.21%) thought the degree of difficulty was moderate, 119 ones (83.09%) thought the ultrasonic image was consistent with the anatomical image, and 124 ones (87.32%) thought it was helpful to improve the level of clinical operation skills. Standardized ultrasound skill operation video online teaching has the advantages of no time and place restrictions and good repeatability, which can exercise students' self-study ability, improve their learning enthusiasm, help students master operation skills more comprehensively, and is of great significance to the implementation and promotion of ultrasound clinical skill training video online teaching.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the basic situation of ultrasound departments in secondary and tertiary public hospitals in Anhui Province. Methods Ultrasonic quality baseline survey forms were issued by the Ultrasonic Medical Quality Control Center of Anhui Province in November 2018,and the subjects of the survey were ultrasound departments of public secondary and tertiary hospitals in Anhui Province. The survey consisted of six parts, including the basic information of the head of ultrasound department, the number of staff, the area of ultrasound department, the number of ultrasonic diagnostic instrument rooms, the number of ultrasonic diagnostic instruments, and the number of beds actually opened in the hospital. Results In this survey, the results of 205 hospitals in 15 prefectures and cities in Anhui Province were received.Among them, there were 62 tertiary hospitals and 143 secondary hospitals. Most of the heads of ultrasound departments in Anhui public secondary and tertiary hospitals had a bachelor's degree,a middle or senior professional title, and a professional life of more than 20 years. The average number of ultrasound department staff was 9.3 in the secondary hospitals and 19.3 in the tertiary hospitals. The average area of the ultrasound department was 195.1m2 in the secondary hospitals and 505.9 m2 in the tertiary hospitals. The average number of ultrasonic diagnostic instrument rooms was 4.9 in the secondary hospitals and 11.3 in the tertiary hospitals. The average number of ultrasound instruments was 4.9 in the secondary hospitals and 11.5 in the tertiary hospitals. The average number of beds actually opened was 510.7 in the secondary hospitals and 1407.5 in the tertiary hospitals. Conclusions At present, ultrasound instruments in secondary hospitals in Anhui Province can basically meet the needs of clinical work, and there is a relative shortage of ultrasound instruments in tertiary hospitals. The shortage of staff in ultrasound department is a common problem faced by secondary and tertiary hospitals, especially tertiary hospitals.

ABSTRACT

As the real-time and dynamic ultrasound images play an important role in the distance education of ultrasound medicine, the learning system is more dependent on the technology of modern net-work information. By using the DGX protocol, we have constructed an ultrasonic distance education system composed of 5 main operating terminals, which has ensured the reliable and adaptive window transmission, and has realized the optimization of the coding and decoding technology. At the same time, we have used the system to carry out ultrasonic distance education to medical students, the staff of our ultrasound department and the ultrasound doctors in other hospitals, and have achieved good results in practical application.

ABSTRACT

Traditional medical education focus on expository teaching, rote learning, and apprenticeship training for clinical skill.Although these teaching approaches can be beneficial for imparting knowledge and clinical skill, they appear to be insufficient for team cooperation, knowledge integration, and standard training.Biomedical simulation teaching is a new method for imparting knowledge, and has achieved good results in current medical education. This paper aims to introduce the definition and characteristic of biomedical simulation, and the application and significance of biomedical simulation in ultrasound teaching are also outlined and discussed.

ABSTRACT

Currently, medical ultrasound teaching focuses on the delivering the image infor-mation itself, while its connection with basic medicine and clinical medicine is neglected. Such a teaching method is not good for students to establish a systemic view. To conduct the ultrasound medi-cine education effectively in undergraduate students, we have tried some reforms, including: perform-ing diseases or problem based teaching, integrating basic medicine, ultrasound medicine and clinical medicine throughout the whole teaching process, providing as many practice opportunities as possible for the graduates and integrating the ultrasound imaging with other medical imaging modalities. The practice shows that with the reform, the students have a better understanding of ultrasonic knowledge itself, a better grasp of the whole medical knowledge structure, and also have a preliminary impression on how to diagnose the disease through reasonable application of different treatments. In addition, students have more passion for study.
