ABSTRACT

As one of special groups in social groups,vagrant psychiatric patients have uniqueness.There are many ethical issues in their diagnosis and treatment,such as voluntary principles and involuntary medical treatment,protective constraints,patient's privacy protection,personalized treatment,fairness and so on.Therefore,to protect the fights and interests of psychiatric patients,it should strictly follow the standard of involuntary hospitalization and four principles of medical ethics when they are admitted to hospital;it should give protective constraints and make the diagnosis of mental disorder when they exist impulses and negative risks involved themselves or others.Meanwhile,it should give psychological counseling,take minimum limit to patient as principle,develop personalized treatment plan,provide humanity service,pay attention to the protection of privacy rights and promote early recovery of patient.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on the oral hygiene of vagrant patients with mental problems.Methods Toally 80 vagrant patients with mental problems were saved and treated with oral health care intervention for a period of three months.The pre-intervention effects were prepared with the post-intervention ones in terms of tooth brushing,oral health and periodontal disease related symptoms intervention.Results Before intervention,the rate of tooth brushing was significantly higher and the rate of periodontal disease related symptoms significantly lower than that before intervention (P<0.05).The scores on physical function limitation,pain and discomfort,psychological discomfort,weakened ability in independent living and the total score after intervention were all significantly lowered as compared to the pre-intervention.Conclusion Oral nursing intervention can improve oral hygiene and oral health of vagrant patients with mental diseases.

ABSTRACT

Through investigating the hospital admission and hospital discharge of vagrant mental patients in Xi-aoshan Hospital from January 2011 to December 2015 , the present study found that there existed some ethical di-lemmas including the risk ofdiagnosing mental disorder but actually not, lack of the guarantee of patients' rights and interests and supervision mechanism without guardian, long-term retention in the wards, and so on. It is sug-gested to establish right protection and supervision committee for vagrant mental patients, reduce the misdiagnosis ofdiagnosing mental disorder but actually not through the error correction mechanism, ensure proper treatment and care, create retention way, protect the basic rights of the vagrant mental patients, reduce mental disability, avoid to stray again, so as to perfect the social management system.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of vagrant psychiatric patients with different gender and summarize nursing measures. Methods Toally 1165 vagrant psychiatric patients who all were inpatient in Shenzhen Corning Hospital between July 2014 to July 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. Seperately we analyzed incidence of nosocomial infection, aggressive behaviour, trouble-making level, restraint and protection, and activity daily living. Results There was 735 male (63.1%) and 430 (36.9%) female in 1165 vagrant psychiatric patients. Comparing with female patients, We found male patients had higher rate of nosocomial infection , aggressivity and accident level , who were susceptible to be restrained and protected ( P < 0 . 001 ) and needed more care (P<0.05). Conclusion We should specially take precautionary measures when nursing vagrant psychiatric patients with different gender.
