ABSTRACT

The identification code of a drug is defined as “a code for identifying tablets, etc.” and is described in the “Composition/Properties” section of the package insert. We investigated whether the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) website, which allows users to search package insert information, can be used for drug identification using identification codes in 2019 before the new package insert guidelines were implemented, and in 2022, during the revision period. Approximately 30% of the investigated high-risk drugs were unidentifiable in both years. The most common reason was that images were used to register identification codes on the PMDA website, and character strings were not searchable. We then conducted a questionnaire survey of pharmaceutical companies, and only approximately half of the respondents opined that it would be preferable if the registration format for identification codes was established within the pharmaceutical industry. However, hospital pharmacists urged for more simplified identification of drugs on the PMDA website.

ABSTRACT

The "quality-oriented education" is closely integrated with the problem-based learning(PBL) teaching mode. In the teaching of Technologies for Microbial Detection course, the PBL teaching mode is the carrier, the student is the host, and the brainstorm guides the students to conduct "dialectical thinking", so as to cultivate the students' "innovation", "social morality" and "self-learning ability". We choose the interactive platform of "WeChat" and "MosoInk WebSite" to make up for the deficiency of PBL teaching in the large class, and comprehensively assess students' knowledge and skills, humanistic quality, and value judgment.

ABSTRACT

@#Introduction: Proper nutrition for premature babies is vital for optimal growth. However, a lack of confidence and knowledge among parents causes them to search for online information which may sometimes be misleading or unreliable. The primary objective of this study is to develop a validated website as an educational tool for parents about nutrition for premature babies. Methods: This study was conducted by referring to the Waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, which consists of five main stages. Stages one to three are related to the development of the website, namely, the requirements stage, design stage and implementation stage. This is then followed by a testing stage where 11 expert panels evaluated the content and face validity of the website. The final stage is the maintenance stage. Results: The website was developed with nine topics. The value of Item Content Validity Index (I-CVI) for every item exceeded the minimum value of I-CVI (0.78), the value of the content validity index by scale, average (S-CVI/Ave) is 0.98, and the content validity index by scale, universal agreement (S-CVI/UA) is 0.83. Both S-CVIs have exceeded the minimum value, which is 0.90 and 0.80 respectively. The value of Krippendorff's Alpha (Kalpha) for the overall section of face validity is 0.53, which does not achieve the minimum acceptable value of Kalpha (0.67). Conclusion: The content validation has high agreement among the expert panels. However, the interphase, layout, and design of the website need to be improvised.

ABSTRACT

Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the reliability of information about pathology available to people at Turkish websites.Materials and Methods:The terms “pathology,” “what is pathology,” and “importance of pathology” were scanned into the most commonly used search engine in Turkey of “Google” in Turkish at 2018. The terms used in the research were considered to be terms used by patients and the public. The first 30 results for each search were used. The same websites reached as a result of the search were eliminated. Each website was classified according to the author as health-related organizations, news, personal, doctors, and undetermined. The websites were assessed according to 15-question scale that was prepared to assess information related to definition, functions, and importance of pathology. Results: The search reached 90 websites. Of these, nine were the same website. As a result, the evaluation included 81 websites. The mean points for the websites were 1.432 (min: 0, max: 13, and standard deviation: 4.28). When the information is distributed according to topic headings, proportionally, the most sufficient information appeared to be about “what is pathology” at 32.1%. The most insufficient information was given about “how does a pathology laboratory work (2.5%),” “place of pathology in genetic studies (2.5%),” and “importance of preventive medicine (2.5%).”Conclusions: According to our study, the information on “what is pathology” and “important of pathology” on the internet is not sufficient. Pathologists should be aware of this deficiency, and people should be properly informed about the importance of pathology.

ABSTRACT

Objectives  To describe the current situation regarding the medical information provided for foreign residents by the official websites of cities and municipalities in Aichi Prefecture and to investigate associations between the characteristics of each city/municipality and their provision of online medical informationMethods  Using a checklist of 24 items, the official websites of all 54 cities and municipalities (hereafter local governments) in Aichi Prefecture were checked. Each item was descriptively summarized. Associations between three selected items and local government characteristics were analyzed by Fisher’s exact test. Results  The official websites of 49 local governments (90.7%) were translated into at least one foreign language. An automatic translation system was used by 43 websites (79.6%). Information on emergency medicine was translated into at least one foreign language on 45 websites (83.3%), child health checkups on 44 websites (81.5%), and adult health checkups on 42 websites (77.8%). However, only eight local governments (14.8%) provided information on where child health checkups were available, and 23 (42.6%) translated a list of medical facilities where adult health checkups were available. The provision of a link to the Aichi Medical Information System was significantly associated with the size of the local government and the number of foreigners. Ten (76.9%) out of 13 local governments categorized in the highest quartile for proportion of foreigners had not translated the list of medical facilities for adult health checkup. Conclusion  Many local governments rely on the automatic translation system, which does not have the capacity to manage all the information accurately. Compared to information on emergency care, access to information on child health checkups and adult health checkups, which will be increasingly needed in the future, was poor and limited. An external website for shared use was not fully utilized, in particular, by smaller local governments.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the determinants and mechanism of trust transfer among patients for online health websites using the equation model. Methods A trust transfer model was built based on the theory of group convergence and doctor-patient interaction. 225 doctor records of online consultations were collected from Haodf, an online health website by data crawling from May 1 to Nov.30, 2017. Multiple regression was used for an empirical analysis. Results The patients' online trust has a positive impact on the physicians'trust offline, with a regression coefficient of 0.94, being significant at the level 0.01. Patient incentives, group size, and frequency of group interaction are important for online patient trust. Meanwhile, patient motivation, group size, and patient online efforts all have significant effect on patient offline trust. Conclusions Online patients' trust affects their offline trust significantly. Developers of online health websites can increase the online trust of patients by motivation and interaction, which help create a desirable medical environment and encourage their trust to offline doctors, contributing to higher medical satisfaction.
