ABSTRACT

As an important part of the spiritual pedigree of the Communist Party of China, the "westward relocation spirit" has profound theoretical value and practical significance for the ideological and political education and career planning of contemporary medical students. Therefore, through detailed interpretation of the educational value of the "westward relocation spirit", this paper analyzed the inheritance path of the "westward relocation spirit" from the four levels of state, society, schools and individuals, in order to cultivate medical students to form a correct grass-roots employment consciousness, and coordinate the contradiction between social development and personal needs. It provides a clear direction for shaping the "new successor of westward relocation" under the command of the Party and comprehensively improving the modernization of medical students’ service at the grass-roots level.

ABSTRACT

"Westward Migration Spirit" is the precious spiritual wealth of Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese nation. The course teaching team takes the undergraduate students of clinical medicine as the teaching object, tries to integrate the "Westward Migration Spirit" into the cultivation of medical students’ medical professionalism, so as to endow new connotation of medical professionalism and promote the improvement of medical students’ professionalism. Through literature review, expert consultation and questionnaire survey, the paper sorted out the context of "Westward Migration Spirit" of Chongqing Medical University, and typical examples with the spirit of medical science and humanity were selected and integrated into the teaching. A questionnaire was designed to investigate the evaluation of 425 clinical medicine undergraduates and 5 teachers on the medical professionalism course integrated with "Westward Migration Spirit" . The results show that the students and teachers have good feedback to the medical professionalism courses integrated with the "Westward Migration Spirit" , and the course has a significant positive effect on the cultivation of medical students’ medical professionalism.

ABSTRACT

Considering the difficult reality of clinical medical graduates employment,the authors,according to their practice experiences,proposed that medical higher schools should enhance graduates employment guidance to increase their employment rate from such aspects as following market rules,making clear cultivation orientation,carrying out employment guidance,helping graduates changing their employment conception,holding special campus job interviews and so on.
