ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the correlation between the body constitution classifications of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)and the reproductive system diseases in young man. Methods All 749 objects took physical examination about the reproductive system diseases, filled in the questionnaire of male body constitution, and differentiated TCM classifications of body constitution. Results The incidence rate of redundant prepuce of depressed vital energy constitution and stagnant blood constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution (P<0.01) , the incidence rate of prostatitis of dampness-heat constitution and depressed vital energy constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution (P<0.01), the incidence rate of varicocele of Qi asthonia constitution and stagnant blood constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution(P<0.01), the incidence rate of phimosis of Yang deficiency constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution (P<0.01) , the incidence rote of prospermia of Qi asthenia constitution, Yin deficiency constitution and special constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution (P<0.01) , the incidence rate of erectile dysfunction of Yin deficiency constitution and special constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution (P<0.01) , the incidence rate of sterility of Yang deficiency consZtitution, Yin deficiency constitution and stagnant blood constitution was obviously higher than balance constitution (P<0.01) .Conclusion There were some correlations between the TCM classifications of body constitution and the reproductive system diseases in young man.

ABSTRACT

Periumbilical perforating pseudoxanthoma elasticum is a rare acquired disorder of connective tissue. It has been suggested that repeated traumas of pregnancy, obesity, or abdominal surgery promote localized degeneration of elastic fibers. Most cases reported in the English literature occurred in obese, middle aged, multiparous women. We describe a 29-year-old male who had two hyperpigmented plaques on the periumbilical area. He had angioid streaks, but was not obese and did not have hypertension. A skin biopsy revealed transepidermal elimination of degenerated and calcified elastic fibers, which was consistent with periumbilical perforating pseudoxanthoma elasticum. We report an interesting case of periumbilical perforating pseudoxanthoma elasticum that occurred in a young man with no known predisposing risk factors.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect in the treatment of the young patients(≤45 years old) with acute myocardial infarction(AMI)underwent emergent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty(PTCA) combined with Lipo-PGE_1.Methods 39 patients with AMI(paroxysm within 12 hours),were underwent emergent PTCA(coronary stem performed in some patients),including 18 cases which were treated combined with Lipo-PGE_1 in the mean time. And the clinical efficacy and the results of short-period follow-up were recorded. Results The in- farctive vasculars were re-open in 37 patients(23 cares were routinely placed translunrinal srents),and the successful rate was 94.9 %.Those who also used Lipo-PGE_1 were re-open in 17 patients. The successful rate was 94.4 %,their ST segments on EKG 30 minutes after operations reduced significantly than that of patients who did not use Lipo- PGE_1,their cardial functions were also improved significantly 24 hours after operations and no side effects on blood pressure and heart rate were observed. Conclusion The emergent PTCA combined with Lipo-PGE_1 for acute my- ocardial infarction can protect the cardial function and show a better early therapy effect.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Not rarely we can find young people with acute myocardial infarction(AMI), many studies revealed they have fewer risk factors and less severe coronary angiographic abnormalities than middle and old aged group. METHODS: We studied clinical characteristics and coronary angiographic findings of 5 young men with AMI treated at Masan Koryo General Hospital from June 1986 June 1992. RESULTS: The age ranged between 19 and 32 years(mean 25.4). They had no other risk factors except cigrarette smoking(4 out of 5). Their coronary angiograms revealed no significant lesion in each infarct related artery. After discharge, all patient remained asymptomatic. CONCLUSION: AMI in young man might be related with cigarette smoking, and coronary artery spasm and/or thrombosis may play a significant role in its pathogenesis.
