ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To work out the optimal inventory levels in zero inventory management mode through model predic-tion and control strategy,by using the inventory upper & lower limits settings generally available in the information management system of health care institutions. METHODS:Multi-varieties joint ordering modelwas constructed by referring to operations management, time series analysis and quantitative approach to decision-making,that is,to make a prediction of upper&lower lim-its on medicine inventory based on historical data and applicable mathematical models(fixed order interval model and re-order mod-el,i.e. FOI and ROP),and compared with real results;based on above, specific medicine procurement and inventory control strat-egies would be developed and an evaluation of the application effects would be made. RESULTS:The error test and reproducibility test exhibited that the out-of-stock ratio remained under 3.36%,of which 71.24% could be effectively alarmed;under computer simulation and practical operation, the instant replenishment rate reduced by 9.33% and 13.03%,OOS ratio down by 11.11% and 27.45%,and average daily inventory turnover rate up by 30.19% and 15.85% respectively, all showing remarkable improvements compared to before the implementation of the mode. CONCLUSIONS:This model is of favorable accuracy and operability,there-fore it can lay foundation for rational and well-founded decisions in medicine procurement and inventory control in zero inventory management mode.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To provide references for the practice of the zero inventory management mode in hospital drug supply storeroom.METHODS: The zero inventory management mode in hospital drug supply storeroom was summarized based on experiences of hospital drug supply storeroom management in our hospital.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: After introduction of zero inventory management principle in hospital drug supply storeroom, the drug turnover frequency in our hospital reached 8~9 times every quarter, which has greatly lowered drug storage costs, activated the working capital, and brought down the proportion of drug fund to as low as about 15% of total hospital working capital. Therefore, establishing a reasonable managing mode suitable to hospital condition and applying zero inventory principle in the management of hospital drug supply storeroom are of importance for lowering hospital running cots and enhancing working efficiency.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To discuss the application of E-commerce system in Hospital drug management. METHODS: It analyzed the defects existed in current Hospital Information System (HIS), introduced hospital E-commerce system and evaluated comparatively the drug management information before and after the application of the e-commerce system. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: E-commerce system has effectively made up the functional insufficiency of HIS and changed the traditional drug purchase mode; therefore, its application has a bright future.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To explore an effective, economical drug purchasing mode for hospital drug warehouse.METHODS:The inventory costs and stock turnover rates for the zero-inventory-ordering system and fixed-interval-ordering system once applied in the Chinese patent drug stockroom in our hospital were analyzed using the analytical method of stock turnover rate.RESULTS:The average inventory costs of 2 policies were 155 600 yuan and 103 800 yuan, respectively, and their average stock turnover rates were 199.23% and 301.16%,respectively.CONCLUSION:The zero-inventory-ordering system is more conducive to the reduction of inventory cost of stock drugs.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To provide references for drug stock management in special hospital.METHODS:On the basis of the ABC analysis, the drugs underwent systematic analysis after being classified into special disease medication and non-special disease medication and then subclassified into common and non-common drugs. Then a periodic and quantitative purchasing schedule was made.RESULTS:Drug procurement based on the purchase schedule contributed to the reduction of both capital occupation and the frequency of procurement under the premise of guaranteeing drug supply, and it helped improve the economic returns as well as the work efficiency.CONCLUSION:The method is simple and feasible and suitable for drug stock management in special hospital.
