ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE To provide reference for improving the dispensing accuracy of similar drugs and reducing dispensing error risk through exploring the dispensing mode of similar drugs. METHODS The effectiveness and feasibility of the similar drug dispensing management mode was explored through adjusting the traditional horizontal or vertical sorting method to a “Z” shaped cargo location sorting， implementing similar drug in different zones dispensed by different people， and combining measures such as adjusting the format of drug dispensing documents and improving inventory methods. The role of similar drug dispensing mode in drug dispensing management was evaluated comprehensively from two aspects： work quality and work efficiency. RESULTS After the implementation of similar drug dispensing mode， total number of monthly dispensing errors （18.42±8.79 vs. 28.50±6.87，P= 0.005） and the proportion of monthly dispensing errors of similar drugs （[ 4.17±5.71）% vs. （10.96±7.05）%，P＝0.017] were significantly lower than before the implementation； the monthly consistency rate between accounts and materials （[ 98.46±0.73）% vs. （97.61±0.57）%， P＝0.004] was significantly higher than before implementation； completion time of dispensing in each batch was not significantly affected， and daily work was carried out smoothly and orderly. CONCLUSIONS The similar drug dispensing mode has a significant effect in improving the accuracy of dispensing similar drugs， reducing the risk of dispensing errors， and does not affect the efficiency of dispensing work.
ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE：To pro vide reference for promoting the standardized construction of centralized intravenous drug dispensing mode and the healthy development of PIVAS and improving the rational infusion in China. METHODS ：The establishment and development process of PIVAS in China were reviewed ，the necessity ，current situation and problems to be solved of centralized intravenous drug dispensing mode were analyzed. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS ：Due to scientific ， advanced，smooth，convenient operation procedure and standardized management ，and reduced occupation exposure ，centralized intravenous drug dispensing mode ，of which the pharmacists were in charge ，had become the inevitable development direction of intravenous drug dispensing in Chinese hospitals. The overall PIVAS construction in China had worked well and played a significant role，not only significantly improved the quality of finished infusion ，promoted rational drug use ，protected the health of nurses and ward （area） environment，but also contributed to the construction and development of the nursing profession ，and also contributed to the improvement of the pharmacy department ’s own management level. However ，the value of PIVAS pharmacist service still needs to be understood.
ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE：To evaluate the application effects of wh ole process intelligent dispensing mode in the inpatient pharmacy of our hospital ，and to provide reference for the intelligent construction of pharmacy department. METHODS ：Combined with the working situation of inpatient pharmacy in our hospital ，the application of automated drug unit-dose dispensing machine （ADDM），intelligent tablet dispensing table （ITDT），medication detection machine （MDM）were introduced. The improvement of work efficiency and the error rate were compared with before and after the implementation of intelligent dispensing mode. The satisfaction survey of intelligent mode was carried out. RESULTS ：Under the dispensing linkage mode of ADDM+ITDT+MDM ， the time of oral drug dispensing was shortened by about 1.5 h per person ；pharmacists reduced by 2 persons；with the help of ADDM image database and image printing technology of drug bag ，the visual inspection method and the efficiency of drug check could be improved ；the introduction of ITDT standardized the management of dismounted drug ，and the work efficiency of dispensing dismounted drug by ITDT （daily dispensing back-up time as index ）were improved 23.29％-38.93％，compared with manual dispensing. The introduction of MDM improved the efficiency of intelligent check ，all drug information could be traced ， and the work efficiency [daily （total）check time as index] were 65.64％-74.78％ higher than that of manual check ；the error rate of three machine dispensing linkage mode was 70.32％ lower than that of ADDM+manual check and dispensing mode ，52.44％ lower than that of ADDM+MDM linkage mode ，and the overall satisfaction of nu rsing staff was 97.97％. ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE:To shorten time consuming for dispensing mode of automatic medicine packaging machine(ATC), and improve the efficiency of ATC. METHODS:In the inpatient pharmacy of our hospital,previous dispensing mode that two ATC matched with one tablet case separately was replaced by new mode,i.e. one ATC(another ATC was on standby)matched with two tablet cases(one of them added medicine beforehand),and the information of drug-position coordinate was equipped. The time con-sumed,average daily number of packages,financial expenses and labor costs were recorded and analyzed to evaluated the effect of new mode. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:Compared with previous mode,new dispensing mode improve the efficiency of ATC greatly. In previous mode,two ATCs and four pharmacists work simultaneously and spend 4.5 hours for 3 850 bags of medicine, which cost 4 400 000 yuan;in new mode,only one ATC and three pharmacists work simultaneously,and spend 3.0 hours for 4 015 bags of medicine,which cost 2 350 000 yuan. Therefore,double-universal tablet cases greatly improves the efficiency of ATC and reduce the financial expenses as machine maintenance and labor cost.
ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE: To understand the patient' satisfaction with one-to-one pre-dispensing mode in outpatient pharmacy and the status of dispensing mode in mainland China, promoting to improve the quality of outpatient pharmacy services. METHODS: A questionnaire regarding patients' satisfaction with dispensing mode was undertaken. Meanwhile, researches evaluating dispensing mode were identified from CBM, CNKI, VIPdatabase, systematic review was conducted to analyze this included studies. RESULTS: A total of 216 questionnaires were finished in outpatient pharmacy, 191 (88.4%) were valid questionnaires, 89% of patients got medicine in 5 min, 95.9% thought the medication label message was clear, 97.9% of the patients were satisfied with the dispensing mode and 95.8% with the overall quality of service. The systematic review included 25 studies, 92% of studies were before and after control study, 4% were randomized controlled study, 4% were survey; 52% evaluated before and after counter dispensing mode, 20% evaluated automatic dispensing system, 12% evaluate done card dispensing mode, 4% evaluated barcode scanning dispensing system; 48% of the studies used dispensing error events as outcome measurement, 44% used waiting time for medication, 24% used patient' satisfaction; before and after counter dispensing mode was the most common dispensing mode; one card dispensing mode optimized the dispensing process, it was widely used in economically developed regions and numerous patients in outpatient; automated dispensing model only applied in some hospitals due to higher costs and space requirement. CONCLUSION: Overall, patients were satisfied with one-to-one pre-dispensing mode in outpatient pharmacy, one card dispensing mode was worth learning in the process of optimizing the quality of outpatient service in future. At present, there were several dispensing mode, without a unified outcome measurement, further studies are needed to confirm it.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the merits and demerits of automatic oral drug dispensing mode as compared with traditional dispensing mode.METHODS:The medication data in our hospital after adoption of single dose administration system were collected and summarized analytically in respect of drug quality management.RESULTS:The automatic oral drug dispensing mode is superior to traditional dispensing mode.CONCLUSION:Under single dose administration system,the application of automatic oral drug dispensing mode is conductive to the improving of pharmaceutical care level.However,the problems existing in its clinical use remain to be further studied.
