ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo study the medication rules of Professor. WANG Xingkuan and inherit his academic experience in the treatment of chest stuffiness and pain with the aid of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Inheritance Computing Platform V3.0 (TCMICS V3.0). MethodThe original medical records of patients with angina pectoris in coronary heart disease (CHD) diagnosed and treated by Prof. WANG in the outpatient department of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine from 2017 to 2020 were collected and entered into the TCMICS V3.0. The rules of prescriptions and drugs were analyzed by the software. ResultA total of 1 044 prescriptions of Prof. WANG for the treatment of chest stuffiness and pain were collected. Most of the drugs were sweet and bitter in flavor and mainly acted on the lung meridian, followed by heart, spleen, liver, stomach, and kidney meridians. Among the prescriptions, Shengmaisan was the most commonly used classic prescription, and Xintongling No. Ⅲ was the top experienced prescription. High-frequency drugs mainly included Ophiopogonis Radix, Pinelliae Rhizoma, Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Trichosanthis Pericarpium, Coptidis Rhizoma, Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus, and Bupleuri Radix. The common doses of drugs were 3, 5, 10, and 15 g. The analysis of formulation rules revealed 129 combinations of common drugs, 58 combinations with confidence > 0.99, and the core drugs of common syndromes. Six core drug combinations were obtained by drug clustering. ConclusionProfessor WANG treats chest stuffiness and pain based on syndrome differentiation following the principles of benefiting Qi, nourishing Yin, eliminating phlegm, resolving stasis, soothing liver, and promoting bile secretion, reflecting his academic idea of "regulation of multiple organs and comprehensive treatment". The core prescriptions can be used for reference by clinical practitioners, but further clinical and experimental studies are still needed to verify their efficacy.

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to analyze the "disease-syndrome-treatment-medicine" experiences of professor Ding for diabetes combined with hypertension by using "traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) inheritance support system (V2.5)".By analyzing the data,we summarized Professor Ding's academic experiences.Through collecting the standard clinical cases, combined with the software analysis system, the composing principles were analyzed by using data mining methods such as frequency statistics, revised mutual information, association rules analysis, cluster analysis, improvement of mutual information, complex system entropy clustering, unsupervised hierarchical clustering entropy and so on.The analysis results showed that 28 patients with diabetes combined with hypertension of yin-deficiency and yang-hyperactivity syndrome, the characteristics were discovered that the highest-frequency used drugs of Ping Gan Xi Feng were concha haliotidis, concha margaritifera, rhizoma gastrodiae;the highest-frequency used drug combinations were "radices rehmanniae, rhizoma dioscoreae","folium mori, cortex mori","semen cuscutae, rhizoma dioscoreae, radices rehmanniae" and so on.Analyzing the 27 patients with diabetes combined with hypertension "wind and fire evils stir up syndrome, the characteristics were discovered that the highest-frequency used drugs of Ping Gan Xi Feng were concha haliotidis, concha margaritifera. In addition to the most common combinations used in diabetes, there were "rhizoma coptidis, spica prunellae","spica prunellae, folium mori","rhizoma coptidis, radices rehmanniae, cortex lycii","spica prunellae, folium mori, rhizoma coptidis" and so on.It was concluded that the syndrome differentiation and treatment of diabetes combined with hypertension was focused on the etiology and pathogenesis of wind and fire. The main treatment principle was to calm the liver to stop the wind, nourish yin and suppress hyperactive yang.

ABSTRACT

Objective To discuss the methods of specification and quantification of thinking process of syndrome differentiation and treatment of old and famous TCM practitioners; To inherit the clinical experience and ideas of TCM practitioners more effectively. Methods Based on one typical case of Professor Lv Renhe treating chronic nephritis, indexing the prescriptions with TCM Subject Headings thesaurus and analyzing them with “Chinese medicine prescription intelligence analysis system” (“CPIAS” for short), relative dose, comprehensive property, comprehensive taste, comprehensive channel tropism, and prescription efficacy were under quantitative analysis. Results The typical case included two prescriptions of initial diagnosis and six diagnosis. CPIAS quantitative analysis showed that relative dose, comprehensive property, comprehensive taste, comprehensive channel tropism, and prescription efficacy were in accordance with syndrome differentiation and treatment of Professor Lv Renhe for chronic nephritis. Conclusion This method has guiding significance for studying and inheriting the speculative regularities and academic thoughts of Professor Lv Renhe.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the diagnosis and treatment rule of eczema by Zhuang Guokang. Methods Data of 58 eczema patients treated by Zhuang Guokang were collected as research objects to set up the database. Support vector machine (SVM) method was adopted to take data mining research of the key points of syndrome differentiation and the rule of medication. Results The nourishing Yin method was extracted as the category property to get 3 classification models of the syndrome differentiation key points, the related treatment methods and medication rule and 63 relevant quantitative data. The accuracy rate of model classification of the main differentiation points of nourishing Yin method corresponding to Yin reached 77.586%, and Kappa value was 0.536. Among these points, the weight of chapping(1.558), papules(1.456), thready pulse(1.036)and desquamation(0.858) got higher significance. The accuracy rate of model classification of medication feature reached 86.2069%, and Kappa value was 0.719. Among these medicines, Pseudostellaria heterophylla(0.776), Semen plantaginis (0.550), Asparagus root(0.525) and Solomonseal (0.388) got higher significance. Conclusion The research revealed the syndrome differentiation key points and the medication rule of Zhuang Guokang’snourishing Yin methodin the treatment of eczema, and explored the path of experience transforming to knowledge of the famous old TCM doctors.
