ABSTRACT

AIM: To analyze the stability of different concentrations of fluorescein sodium solution on the detection of tear break-up time(TBUT).METHODS:A retrospective study. A total of 150 cases(150 eyes)who came to our dry eye clinic with good cooperation from August 2019 to September 2021 were selected for the study, and the subjects were randomly divided into five groups, which were fluorescein sodium(FLS, 0.5%), FLS(1.0%), FLS(1.5%), FLS(2.0%)and fluorescein sodium parallel(FLSP), with 30 patients in each group(all the right eyes were the subject eyes). Each group was dripped with the corresponding fluorescein sodium. The FLSP group was the fluorescent test strip detection group. The slit lamp image scores of different concentration groups were compared, the survival time of sodium fluorescein at the instant, 2, 5, 10, 15 and 30min points was observed in each group, and the mean value of TBUT in each group was recorded.RESULTS: The image score of FLS(0.5%)group was significantly higher than that of the other four groups(t=7.746, 21.483, 116.190, 38.730, all P<0.01). The image score of FLS(1.0%)group was significantly higher than that of FLS(1.5%)and FLS(2.0%)group(t=10.742, 15.492, all P<0.01). The survival time of fluorescein in FLS(0.5%)group was significantly shorter than that of the other four groups(t=8.226, 7.458, 9.159, 12.347, all P<0.01). The survival time of fluorescein in FLS(1.5%)group was significantly longer than that of FLS(1.0%)and FLS(2.0%)group(t=15.428, 13.274, all P<0.05). TBUT in FLS(0.5%)group was significantly higher than that of the other four groups at 2min(t=22.767, 22.345, 15.494, 17.213, all P<0.01), and was significantly lower than that of the other four groups at 10min(t=23.266, 25.353, 10.183, 22.025, all P<0.01). The mean first TBUT of FLS(1.5%)group was significantly shorter than that of the other four groups(t=25.236, 21.374, 19.658, 72.341, all P<0.01), and the mean first TBUT of FLSP group was significantly longer than that of the other four groups(t=22.487, 30.267, 60.247, 40.857, all P<0.01). There was no significant correlation between TBUT and ocular surface disease index(OSDI)and tear river height(rs=-0.072, 0.219, P=0.689, 0.112). TBUT was positively correlated with tear secretion(rs=0.674, P<0.01).CONCLUSION: FLS(0.5%)had higher image quality but it was only suitable for observing staining within 5min, and the FLSP group was more suitable for clinical observation of corneal fluorescence staining for a longer period; FLS(1.5%)was the most stable and reliable concentration and dose for the detection of TBUT.

ABSTRACT

@#AIM: To investigate the effect of lacrimal passage laser combined with drainage tube implantation on tear film rupture time and corneal fluorescein sodium staining in patients with lacrimal duct obstruction so as to improve the therapeutic effect of lacrimal laser combined drainage tube implantation. <p>METHODS: From January, 2013 to December, 2015, 200 cases(200 eyes)of lacrimal passage obstruction were treated with lacrimal passage laser combined with lacrimal drainage tube implantation in our hospital. Before and 1mo after operation, after the tube was draw out, ocular surface was assessed. The test included tear film rupture time, tear secretion, corneal fluorescein staining and dry eye syndrome questionnaire. <p>RESULTS: There was no significant difference in tear film rupture time between the two groups before and after 1mo, after the tube was draw out(<i>P</i>>0.05). The amount of tear secretion increased at 1mo after operation and the amount of tear secretion decreased after extubation. The difference was statistically significant(<i>P</i><0.05). There was no significant difference in the corneal fluorescein staining before and after operation, after extubation(<i>P</i>>0.05). The dry eye symptom questionnaire showed that the tearing laser combined drainage tube implantation significantly improved the tearing symptoms. <p>CONCLUSION: The lacrimal duct laser combined drainage tube implantation has no significant effect on tear film rupture time and corneal fluorescein sodium staining. This kind of operation can improve the postoperative tearing symptoms of the patients, and is of great significance in the treatment of lacrimal passage obstruction.

ABSTRACT

Objecitive Under the fluorescent microscope ,we used fluorescein sodium fluorescence to determine glioma boundary ,thus gliomas removed through surgery more thoroughly .Mtehods We randomly se-lected 14 patients who were admitted in the First Hospital of JiLin University as the research objects ,patients with glioma were diagnosed as glioma according to the physical signs ,physical examination a,nd imaging findings before surgery.Diagnosed with glioma,intraoperative application of fluorescein sodium yellow fluorescence was deter -mined the tumor boundary ,and removal of the tumor ,according to the fluorescence intensity strength is different . The pathological diagnosis was to determine the boundary of fluorescent was accurate .Postoperative examined MRI was performed in order to make clear the excision of the tumor ,and the neurological condition of postoperative was observed.Results Glioma could be inspired by yellow fluorescence under fluorescent microscope .The normal brain tissue was not light .Postoperative pathological results showed that the fluorescent yellow area contained a lot of glioma cells,pale yellow fluorescence area found a small amount of glioma cells .Postoperative enhanced MRI scan had confirmed that application of fluorescein sodium could be more thoroughly resection of glioma ,postopera-tive dysfunction was reduced .Conclusion This method is prior to tumor boundary observasion without fluoresent staining and reducing the recurrence of the tumor and reducing the normal brain tissue damage ,and therefore,im-proving the quality of postoperative survival of patients .

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To establish a bacterial endotoxin test method for fluorescein sodium injection.METHODS: Based on the bacterial endotoxin test method stated in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2005 edition(second part),an interference test was conduced on different batches of fluorescein sodium samples using tachypleus amebocyte lysate from different companies.RESULTS: At a concentration of no more than 0.75 mg?mL-1,fluorescein sodium showed no interfere with the bacterial endotoxin test.CONCLUSION: It is feasible for bacterial endotoxin test of fluorescein sodium injection be conducted in a limit value of 0.15 EU?mL-1.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the application of the flurescence-guided resection in gliomas surgery. The value and the advantages of this system for glioma resection was assessed, points for attention of application were discussed. Method 14 patients with gliomas in different region of the brain were performed flurescence-guided resection by using high-dose fluorescein sodium . Results Of our cases, according to the imaging data, total lesion removals were achieved in 11 patients (78.6%). The clinical status of all patients showed improvement without complication after surgery, the time of surgery and the days in hospital were both shortened than those of routine method of surgery. Conclusion The flurescence- guided resection is reliable and does accurate location in surgical treatment for gliomas. It increases rate of total lesion removal of glioma without injuring the adjacent functions.

Objective:To analyse have been adverse effect of Fluorescence Fundus Angiography and rist rescued Method:20% fluorescein sodium fastly injected antecubital vein,and then we checked patient and observed patient reaction,get ready to promply salvage.Results:Forty-one patients produced adverse effect in one thousand twenty hundred and seventy-three patients.For instance:thirteen patients have been suffered from sicchasia;sixteen patients have been suffered from vomitus;five patients have been suffered from cnidosis;six patients have been suffered from dry cough;three patients have been suffered from slightly panicky;one patient have been suffered from diarrhea after two days;two patients have been suffered from panicky after cutantest;one patient have been suffered from Severity adverse effect;three patients have been falled into a swoon in the course of waiting for checking and curing.Conclusions:contrast examination is security and reliability,but it have generated adverse effect.If we immediately observed and rescued,adverse effect should been controlled.
