ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore group leaders' intervention intensions during group counseling process. Methods: The Interpersonal Process Recall (IPR) was applied to collect leaders' intervention intensions in 11 sessions of 2 unstructured counseling groups. Leaders' intervention intensions were coded according to coding manual. Results: Totally 29 types of intervention intensions were identified and grouped into 10 categories. The 3 intervention intensions with the highest frequency were"access to information and evaluation", "promoting awareness" and "expressing support for group members". The intervention intensions of establishing a group culture and promoting group cohesion mainly appeared in the early stage of group counseling. The intervention intension of dealing with emotion mostly appeared in the middle stage. The intervention intension of promoting awareness appeared a lot in the early and middle stages of group development The intervention intention of expressing support for group members was salient at the initial and final stages of group counseling. Conclusion: There may be diverse intervention intensions in the process of group counseling. Group leaders could pay attention to interpersonal interaction, giving consideration to both individuals and groups.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the current status and trends of group counseling research in China by bibliometric analysis and content analysis.Method:Using methods of bibliometrics and content analysis,Chinese papers on group counseling in 1996 -2013 which were found in CNKI were analyzed in 6 aspects including litera-ture number,sources,research type,topic,quality and competence of group counselors.Results:A total number of 516 papers were found,in which 51.0% of journal articles and 49.0% of dissertations.The research methods and topics were developing from outcome and quantitative research to multiple methods and topics including process re-search,process-outcome research,qualitative research,combined research and theoretical research.The problems were that researchers were still focused on outcome research (92.6%)and quantitative research (54.5%).As to research quality,40.7% of journal articles were published on CSSCI,22.5% of the experimental studies had no control groups,among which 43.3% were not randomized or matched,and 75.5% of outcome researches had not traced long-term effects.In 65.4% of the researches,group leaders'qualifications were not described.Conclusion:The group counseling research in China is developed quite rapidly,and the research type and topic are more di-verse,but the quality of the studies needs to be improved,and the competence of group leaders needs to be exam-ined.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the application efficacy of responsibility system for holistic nursing system in high-quality nursing service in the department of respiratory medicine.Methods Department of respiratory medicine unit which was the quality nursing service demonstrated unit in our hospital was selected.The nursing responsibility-bound grouping system was first performed and the nurse-incharge would provide the patients with whole and continuous nursing service.Before and 6 months after the application,the nursing job satisfaction was conducted and the nursing grouping system satisfaction was also evaluated among nurses and doctors.Results Six months after the application of nursing responsibility-bound grouping system,the patient satisfaction with nursing job was raised obviously in the unit.Conclusions The application of responsibility-bound grouping system can not only promote the activity but also mobilize the enthusiasm of nurses,and then high-quality nursing service was resulted.So the service system was worthy of clinical application.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the role of nursing group leaders in nursing level management Methods 19 nursing staff were divided into the observation group ( 10 nurses)and the control group (9 nurses). The observation group implemented the nursing level management, that was head nursesnursing group leaders-responsibility nurses, specific to the person in charge of patients, the treatment and nursing work was completed under the instruction of nursing group leaders. The control group obeyed the following patterns: head nurses-responsibility nurses. The test results of professional knowledge, comprehensive care quality of wards, satisfaction degree of patients and other indicators were compared between the two groups. Results Scores of technical operations and professional knowledge were significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant. The scores of ward care quality and health education coverage of patients were significantly higher, adverse event rate was significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant. The satisfaction degree of doctors and patients was significantly higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions The implementation of the nursing level management by appointing group leaders can help improve the level of nursing services, ward care quality, patient satisfaction and thus ensure high-quality care to carry out effectively.
