ABSTRACT

Objective @# To investigate the application of digital immediate implant and angle screw channel abutment in the aesthetic area and the related influencing factors by reviewing the data of one case of immediate implant repair of the upper anterior teeth and related literature. @*Methods@#One case of refractory chronic apicitis of the upper anterior teeth involved immediate implantation after extraction. The digital information of the patient was obtained by CBCT and intraoral scanning. According to the information from the patients, a preoperative evaluation was performed; a treatment scheme was formulated; a minimally invasive extraction was performed; implants were placed under a digital guide plate; and temporary restoration was immediately performed. Six months after the operation, the patients underwent individualized mold removal, and angle screw channel fixation was completed. We observed the cosmetic effects and soft and hard tissue and gingival contour maintenance effects after restoration and reexamined the patients 6 months after restoration. In addition, the relevant literature was reviewed. @*Results @#The height of the gingival margin and gingival papilla and gingival contour of this patient were well maintained. The red and white aesthetic effect was good. There was no redness or swelling of the gingiva nor obvious changes in the soft and hard tissues around the implant 6 months after restoration, and the patient was satisfied. The results in the literature review show that a preoperative design based on CBCT and intraoral scanning data combined with digital software and a whole digital guide plate make the procedure more accurate and safer. These factors can not only avoid important anatomical structures and serious surgical complications but can also result in implantation in the best three-dimensional position. In addition, the application of digital impression technology and CAD/CAM increases the efficiency, speed, accuracy, simplicity, and comfort of oral impressions and the construction of temporary and final prostheses more precise and faster, greatly improving clinical efficiency. @*Conclusion@#Digital immediate implant and angle screw channel abutment is a good method to restore the aesthetics and function of missing teeth and to avoid the complications caused by adhesive residue.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the effect of Straumann implant on crown appearance in the immediate implant restoration of maxillary anterior teeth.@*METHODS@#This study was conducted among 86 patients undergoing immediate implant restoration of maxillary anterior teeth between January and December, 2018. We randomized the patients into control group for treatment with immediate implant restoration and study group receiving additional Straumann implant. The effects of restoration, bone absorption at 6 months, implant length, implant diameter, root protrusion, gingival color, far and middle gingival papilla, lip side gingival height, near and middle gingival papilla, and lip side gingival curve were compared between the two groups.@*RESULTS@#The repair effect in the study group was better than that in the control group ( < 0.05). The implant length and implant diameter were significantly greater in the study group than in the control group. The root protrusion, gingival color, far and middle gingival papilla, lip side gingival height, near and middle gingival papilla, and lip side gingival curve were all better in the study group. The height of marginal bone in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group ( < 0.05).@*CONCLUSIONS@#Straumann implant can be used in immediate implant restoration of maxillary anterior teeth to achieve a better aesthetic effect.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To summarize the treatment options for congenital maxillary lateral incisor agenesis (MLIA).@*Methods @#Review the literature, summarize the current treatment options and advantages and disadvantages of various methods of MLIA, and analyze cases. @*Results @#When a patient′s occlusion and other conditions are suitable for space closure and canine substitution, closure of the gap is the recommended method, as it has good aesthetic results and leads to good periodontal health. However, when closure cannot be performed, a dental implant has a strong advantage compared with other restoration methods. When planning implants for MLIA patients, doctors should carefully select the correct surgery time and take care with the implant position to obtain good results.@* Conclusion@#In the choice of a treatment plan for MLIA, we need to use the concept of multidisciplinary combined treatment to obtain a more satisfactory treatment effect with regard to aesthetics and function.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of different adjustment methods (occlusion) in dental implant repair. Methods 96 cases of patients with dental implant repair treated in our hospital from June 2015 to February 2017 were selected as the research object and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 48 cases in each group. The biting surfaces of the patients were reduced in the observation group, but the patients in the control group were treated with the original adjustment methods (occlusion). The bite balance and masticatory function of the two groups were evaluated at 3 months and 6 months after repair respectively. The occlusal balance was set up by computer to set the X and Y axes, and the X-axis and Y-axis values of the two groups were monitored. And measured the molars asymmetry index(AMOF), to calculate the ratio of each tooth occlusal force, and the larger the AMOF value, the more asymmetrical the bite force is. Chewing function score of 10 points, the higher the score that chewing better. Results Compared with the control group, the indexes of occlusal balance in the observation group at 3 months after repair were significantly increased (P<0. 05), and at 6 months after repair, the AMOF (P<0. 05). Compared with the control group, the scores of chewing function in the observation group at 3 months and 6 months after repair were significantly increased, there was statistical difference between the two groups Significance (P<0. 05). Conclusion The effect of biting surface reduced (occlusion) in dental implan.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>This work aims to investigate the effect of porous tantalum and porous titanium on osseointegration.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Two kinds of porous materials with same microporous parameters, namely, porous tantalum and porous titanium, were fabricated by computer-aided design (CAD) modeling and 3D printing technology. A defect model was established in 24 New Zealand white rabbits in the bilateral femoral lateral malleolus at the left and right side of each animal. Then, animals were randomly divided into two groups, and bone defects were repaired by porous tantalum and porous titanium (experimental and control groups, respectively). Animals were sacrificed at two, four, and eight weeks after implantation. Gross observation and methylene blue-acid fuchsin staining were used to observe osseointegration of the implant and bone interface, and the osseointegration strength of implant bone interface was tested by push-out test.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>At two, four, and eight weeks after operation, the new bone tissue in the two groups increased gradually, and new bone trabecula appeared and grew into the pores of the materials. No significant difference (P>0.05) in osteogenesis and the strength of implant bone tissue interface between the two groups was observed.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>3D
printed porous tantalum implants, which exhibit comparable osseointegration capabilities to porous titanium implants, can form an early biological combination with bone tissue.</p>
