ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of modified perianal dressing on incontinence dermatitis in patients caused by pseudo-diarrhea in neurology department. Methods 100 patients with moderate and severe incontinence-associated dermatitis caused by pseudo-diarrhea in our hospital were included in the study. The patients were divided into observation group (n=50)and control group(n=50).The former group was treated with modified Conwhier hydrocolloid transparent paste directly applied after cutting. The effective rate of treatment for 3 days was observed in both groups. Result The observation group was superior to the control group in the effective rate of treatment for 3 days (P<0.05). Conclusions The modified Kanghuier hydrocolloid transparent sticking is effective in the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis caused by pseudo-diarrhea. It is worthy of clinical application and popularization.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the value of preventive nursing process in the management of incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) in the department of neurology. Methods From January 2016 to May 2016, 38 hospitalized patients with neurological disorders were set as the control group . The control group was given routine nursing according to traditional way, and another 38 patients hospitalized from June 2016 to October 2016 who were set as the observation group were implemented with IAD preventive nursing process, including the training of nurses, risk factor evaluation, measures implented and IAD health education. The two groups were compared in terms of incidence, severity and harms of IAD. Results The incontinence incidence of IAD in the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The IADS score of the observation group was significantly lower as well (P<0.05). Conclusion Preventive nursing process can help to reduce the risk and severity of IADS in the patients with urinary incontinence in neurology department.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of 3M skin protective film combined with colostomy powder on dermatitis caused by bowl movement incontinence . Methods Sixty-three patients with fecal incontinence were randomly divided into observation group (n =32) and control group (n=31). The control group received routine nursing and the observation group was treated with 3M skin protective film combined with Cambel colostomy powder. The two groups were compared in terms of incidence and severity of incontinent dermatitis. Result The duration of dermatitis in the observation group was significantly longer than that in the control group, while the incidence of incontinent dermatitis and severity were significantly lower than those in the control group (all P<0.01). Conclusion 3M skin protective film combined with Cambel colostomy powder can prevent incontinent dermatitis so as to relieve patients′pain. It is worthy of clinical popularization and application.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of quality control circle on reducing incidence of fecal incontinence dermatitis of intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Methods Quality control circle team was set up and theme was determined then retrospective analysis was carried out for the occurrence of defect in patients with fecal incontinence dermatitis from January to May 2014 before quality control circle activities. Occurrence reasons were explored and corrective measures were formulated and implemented. After the implementation of quality control circle, the occurrence of defect from June to October 2014 was observed. Results After the implementation of quality control circle, the occurrence of fecal incontinence dermatitis reduced from 24.5%(24/98) to 10.4% (10/96) and the difference was statistically significant,χ2=6.65, P<0.05. Conclusion Quality control circle is effective for reducing the occurrence of ICU fecal incontinence dermatitis and continual improvement of nursing quality.
