ABSTRACT

A predominantly bibliographic observation context, on the tangency between the fields of international relations and communication studies, is proposed as background and scope of reference for this article to be developed,. To reveal, in this intersection, theoretical dialogues on cultural diplomacy, and to apply them as an optic, in the performance of the ALAIC's Summer School. Thus, to expose and to interpret this association as an international academic research institution. This approach starts from a theoretical bibliographic clipping on the main dialogues on the concept of cultural diplomacy, ergo, to propose its development and performance of the ALAIC summer school of an academic course, its purposes, objectives, and practices, as a case study. From this perspective of observation, it is intended to look for associations between themes, and thereby, to verify if it is appropriate to interpret the initiative as a catalyst movement of spaces and encounters of otherness, for cultural diplomacy.

ABSTRACT

Borrowing the open system interconnection (OSI) model of internet protocol and the 5W theory in communication studies, the links in the international communication of acupuncture-moxibustion can be classified into seven layers: physical layer, data link layer, network layer, transport layer, session layer, presentation layer and application layer, therefore it is built an OSI model of international communication system of acupuncture-moxibustion. It is pointed out that present international communication system of acupuncture-moxibustion is similar to the user datagram protocol (UDP) in internet technology. Evidence-based medicine (EBM) plays a key role to modernize acupuncture- moxibustion theory based upon its clinical effects. According to phenomenon-taking by classified analogy, it is found that the PICO model of EBM agrees pretty well with the "three-way handshakes" mechanism of the internet transmission control protocol (TCP), which is promising to construct an international discourse of acupuncture-moxibustion compatible with western medicine. Thus it will benefit to explore the scientific connotation of acupuncture-moxibustion theory and significantly improve the international prestige of acupuncture-moxibustion.

ABSTRACT

The paper analyzed the scale, educational background, degree, and financial source of the European students in Chinese TCM colleges and universities by using excel 2013. The results showed that there were 19 TCM colleges and universities recruiting European students, and the number of campus students, enrollment students, graduation students were 409, 257 and 280 in 2017 respectively. The campus students in 2017 was highest since five years ago, but was less than the Afro-Asia states. Training was main form of studying abroad. Most campus students were at their own expenses, or received the help from Chinese government. The education for European students in Chinese TCM colleges and universities has made some achievement, but there were still some questions: the European students was not too much, the education's attraction was not strong, and the financial help from international organization and foreign government was scarce.

ABSTRACT

The general practitioner (GP) system in Britain was developed about 40 years ago within the National Health Service (NHS) system. Currently 99% of people are registered to GPs from whom they receive primary care and, if necessary, are referred to specialists working in hospitals. Thus, there is a marked difference between the health care systems of Japan and Britain. However, the GP educational system in Britain is very helpful in increasing the number of doctors practicing primary care. The following are proposed in order to reform the pre-and postgraduate medical education system in Japan. 1. An integrated curriculum including the subject of community practice should be introduced early in the undergraduate years. 2. A compulsory, broad clinical training system that includes community practice should be introduced in the early postgraduate period. 3. The international experience of clinical trainees should be increased in order to catch up with changes in the health care in other parts of the world.
