ABSTRACT

Objective To study the protective effects and mechanisms of adenosine on lung ischemia-reperfusion injury in rabbit. Methods The rabbit ltng model of ischemia-reperfusion was constructed.Thirty Chinese rabbits were random divided into three groups: Group A (no surgery), group B (ischemiareperfusion) and group C (Adenosine + ischemia-reperfusion). The MDA content,SOD content of the plasma, wet-dryrate (W/D) and the pathology of lung tissue and the index of quantitative assessment of histologic lung injury (IQA) were measured after 60 min reperfusion. Results After 60min reperfusion, the value of W/D, MDA and IQA in group B were significantly higher than those in group A (q = 7. 06,13.71,18. 62, P <0.01), while the concentration of SOD were lower than those in group A (q = 14. 33, P <0.01). In contrast with group B, W/D,MDA and IQA in group C was obviously lower (q =5.23 ,8. 51, 9.99,however, the concentration of SOD were higher than those in group B (q = 7.73, P < 0. 01). In contrast with group A and C ,the expression of CD11b/CD 18 of group B was significantly increased after 60min reperfusion (q =8.59,9.56, P <0. 01). Conclusion Adenosine can prevent ischemia-reperfusion injury in rabbit lung in vivo by inhibiting the expression of CD-11b/CD18 on PMNs and dropping oxygen free radicals level.

ABSTRACT

The main pathological changes of hypoxia in the myocardium were lysis or necrosis of the myocardium.hyperplasia or swelling of myocardial mitochondria,and swelling.increase of pinocytic vesicles in number,and appearance of tubules and villus-like eminences in the endothelial cells of myocardial capillaries:And those in the lungs were thickening of the wall and narrowing of the lumen of pulmonary arterioles,and swelling or appearance of proteinous material in the connec- tive tissue around pulmonary venules.After the treatment with dilthiazem.the pathological lesions were decreased in number or diminished in severity.In addition,the pathological mechanisms of hy-poxia and the therapeutic efficacy of dilthiazem were discussed.

ABSTRACT

The changes of pulmonary platelet trapping (PPT) were observed in dogs after they were traumatized with steel-sphere shooting and then the therapeutic effects of nalorphine were studied.It was found that the PPT rate was significantly increased in the 8th hour after injury;when nalorphine was administered before and after gunshot wounding,the PPT rate of the traumatized dogs was signficantly lowered.The fact indicates that the increase of PPT rate in the gunshot dogs results from the activation of opiate ? receptor in the lungs.

ABSTRACT

After the dogs were inflicted with blast injury,high velocity shell fragment injury on one extremity,and blast-fragment combined injury,the morphological changes of the lungs were examined under gross inspection and with optical and transmission electron microscopes,and the lung/body weight index and lung water ratio were determined.It was found that high velocity shell fragment injury on one extremity could intensify the blast injury on the lungs by one grade.
