ABSTRACT

Objective To prepare hydrophobic chitosan from Catharsius molossus and study its hemostatic effect. Methods The chitosan from C. molossus was used as material to carry out hydrophobic modification and characterization by acylation with lauric anhydride. At the same time, the hemostatic effect was studied by in vitro agglutination test and mouse liver wound experiment. Results The prepared hydrophobic chitosan had a hydrophobic group substitution degree of (11.69 ± 0.14)%, which was higher than that of commercially available hydrophobic chitosan. The in vitro agglutination experiment showed that it could coagulate in (3.42 ± 0.39) s when mixed with blood at a concentration of 6.0 mg/g, which was better than chitosan and hydrophobically modified commercial chitosan. The mouse liver wound experiment showed that chitosan from C. molossus could shorten hemostatic time significantly compared with chitosan and hydrophobically modified commercial chitosan. Conclusion Hydrophobically modified chitosan can significantly improve the coagulation performance of chitosan, and the hydrophobic chitosan from C. molossus is excellent, and it is expected to be a new hemostatic material with great potential.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The molecularly imprinted osthole on surface-modified quartz sand was prepared and characterized by SEM and FT-IR. The adsorption properties of molecularly imprinted materials were investigated. Methods: The morphology of MIP was prepared using N-(β-aminoethyl)-γ-aminopropylmethylbimethoxy silane (KH-602) modified quartz sand as supporter, osthole as template, methacrylic acid (MAA) as functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as crosslinker, axodiisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as initiator, and methanol as porogen, observed by SEM, and the chemical structure of MIP was characterized by FT-IR. Results: The dynamic adsorption experiment showed that the adsorption capacity of molecularly imprinted materials to osthole gradually reached saturation with the increase of time. The maximum adsorption capacity of molecularly imprinted materials for osthole was studied by static adsorption experiment. The selective adsorption experiment was adopted to study the binding properties and molecule recognition characters of molecularly imprinted materials for osthole. Conclusion: The experimental results showed that MIP had specific recognition selectivity, excellent binding affinity and elution property for ractopamine. The MIP on the adsorption ability of osthole was significantly better than xanthotoxin and imperatorin.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effect of the proactive percutaneous catheter drainage(PCD)strategy in the treatment of acute pancreatitis(AP)complicated with necrotic infection. Methods A total of 70 patients with AP complicated with necrotic infection and trea-ted by PCD from January 2016 to November 2017 were prospectively enrolled. The patients were randomly divided into the routine group(n=35)and the modified group(n =35)according to the random number table method. The same indication and principle were performed performed during the first time PCD in both of the two groups. However, the subsequent treatment strategy was different between the two groups. The routine group was given a maximum of 1 adjustment of the drainage tube position or another catheterization. If the drainage effect was still poor, the necrosectomy would be taken through laparoscope, nephroscope or laparotomy directly. While the modified group was given frequent and early drain revision and upsizing of drains in case of lack of clinical improvement. The general data, the total number of PCD pro-cedures,the maximal final drain size, the duration between the first two times of PCD,the total drainage duration, the number of patients need for necrosectomy, the length of hospital stay after drainage, the number of patients need for new ICU admission, the number of patients need for readmission, complications and mortality were compared between the 2 groups. Results The total number of PCD procedures and the maxi-mal final drain size of the modified group was significantly higher than that of the routine group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The duration be-tween the first two times of PCD in the modified group was significantly shorter than of the routine group(P<0.01).The ratio of patients need for necrosectomy and suffered new-onset multiple organ failure significantly decreased in the modified group, and the difference was sta-tistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in total days of drainage, length of hospital stay after drainage, number of patients need for new ICU admission, number of patients need for readmission, complications and mortality.Conclu-sion The proactive PCD strategy of frequent and early drain revision and upsizing of drains for patients with acute infected necrotizing pan -creatitis when lack of clinical improvement can reduce the proportion of recurrent multiple organ failure and the need for necrosectomy, and it does not increase the risk of related complications.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To evaluate and eliminate the potential bias between data obtained from dry and liquid biochemical assays, making data obtained by different assays matchable. Methods: Bias estimation was performed based on document EP9-. A2. Simple data comparison and methodology validation were performed after the experiment methods were modified with the estimated correction factors and interception. All the collected data were analyzed by EXCEL2007 software. Results: The predicted bias of 4 of the 10 compared items exceeded their corresponding acceptable bias. After being adjusted by the coefficient and interception obtained from linear regression analysis, the four bias was improved and was within the acceptable range. The results of simple data comparison further confirmed this comparability. Conclusion: Based on EP9-A2, we have established a protocol to obtain a consistency of data from different biochemical analyzers, which makes it possible that the detection results of the same patient from different detection systems can be used directly. The protocol has been approved by the experts during the medicinal laboratory accreditation of ISO15189.
