ABSTRACT
Objective To understand the current situation of nursing environment and clinical nurses' job embedding and to explore the correlation between them. Methods About 500 clinical nurses of two general hospitals in Beijing were enrolled in the study. The self-designed questionnaires were used to investigate nursing work environment and nurses' job embedding. Results The total score on the nursing environment was (3.08 ± 0.36), and the total score on job embedding was (3.40 ± 0.46). There was a significant positive correlation between the nursing environment and job's embedding (r = 0.857, P = 0.001). Conclusions The nursing environment and job embedding of clinical nurses are both in the middle level. The higher the clinical nurses' evaluation of the working environment, the stronger the embedding of nurses. Nursing managers should create a good working environment for nurses and improve their job level so as to improve the quality of care.
