ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVE: To establish the determination method of the related substances in ibuprofen raw materials, tablets and capsules. METHODS: High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was used for the determination of 2-(4-isobutyl phenyl) propanoic acid, 4-isobutyl benzoic acid, sodium methyl hydroxybenzoate(provided by national institutes for food and drug control), 4′-isobutyl acetophenone (known impurities of JP), the relative substance A, J, N (known impurities of EP), and the unknown impurities. A Kromasil C18 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm) was used as the analytical column, acetonitrile-water (pH adjusted to 3.0 by phosphoric acid) (45:55) were used as the mobile phase, the flowing rate was 1.0 mL · min-1, the detection wavelength was set at 254 nm, and the column temperature was 35°C. RESULTS: The relative substances detected in ibuprofen raw materials and its preparations were mainly 4-isobutyl benzoic acid and 4′-isobutyl acetophenone. The contents of unknown impurities were also high in the preparations of some manufacturers. CONCLUSION: The method can be used for the analysis of the related substances in ibuprofen raw materials and its preparations.
ABSTRACT
Leishmanicidal activity of the 3-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl) propanoic acid (TMPP) isolated from EtOH extracts of the Amazonian Piper turbeculatum Jacq. fruits was evaluated in vitro using Leishmania amazonensis promastigotes. The TMPP was assayed at concentrations of 1600 to 6.25 µg/mL for 24, 48, 72 and 96 h. Promastigotes viability was analyzed and the IC50 of TMPP was 145 µg/mL.
A atividade leishmanicida do ácido 3,4,5-trimetoxi-dihidrocinâmico (TMPP) isolado do extrato hidroalcoólico de frutos de Piper turbeculatum Jacq. amazônica foi testado em ensaios in vitro utilizando formas promastigotas de Leishmania amazonensis. O TMPP foi utilizado em culturas de L. amazonensis nas concentrações de 1600 a 6,25 µg/mL. A viabilidade celular das formas promastigotas foi observada em 24, 48, 72 e 96 h para cálculo da CI50. O TMPP apresentou efeito leishmanicida dose dependente para as formas promastigotas de L. amazonensis apresentando CI50 de 145 µg/mL.

The effects of propanoic acid accumulation on the growth and acid production of Propionibacterium shermanii are reported in this paper, the glucose consumption, acid production and cell growth curve are measured in the batch fermentation process with 6%glucose serves as carbon source and pH value controlled at 6 5 If 1%, 3%, and 6% propanoic acid are added to the broth 24 hours after inoculation, the cell dry weights obtained at the end of the fermentation change to 75 3%, 65 4%, 52 9% of the CK respectively, at the same time, the acid accumulation becomes 79 3%, 69 2%, 39 3% of the CK respectively But even 6% propanoic acid is added, the glucose consumption and acid production could not be stopped completely The cell dry weight increased 60% if part of the propanoic acid is removed from the broth and replaced by fresh medium
ABSTRACT
AIM: To study the quality control of Fuyankang Capsule(Radix et Rhizoma Salviae Miltiorrhizae,Radix Paeoniae Rubra,Radix Scutellariae,etc.) METHODS: The presence of Radix Paeoniae Rubra,Herba Taraxaci,Radix Scutellariae,Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati were identified by TLC.The content of hydroxybenzyl laxticacid,dansensu in the capsule was assayed by HPLC. RESULTS: Linearity of dansensu was found in the range from 0.04 ?g to 0.20 ?g.The average recovery was 98.8% and RSD was 1.5%. CONCLUSION: The method is highly sensitive,simple,precise and reproducible and can be used for the quality control of the capsule.
