Professor XUE Bo-shou's Exploration on Coronavirus Disease-2019 and Analysis of Cases / 中国实验方剂学杂志

Professor XUE Bo-shou，a master of traditional Chinese medicine（TCM），believes that coronavirus disease-2019 （COVID-19） belongs to the category of "cold epidemic" or "cold-dampness epidemic" in TCM theory. Cold-dampness obstructing the lungs is the key pathogenesis in the early stage of the disease. Exogenous pathogenic factors of cold and dampness are converted into heat in the interior. Over time，the pathogenesis is the disturbance in ascending and descending of Qi movement，loss of vital Qi， deficiency of both Qi and Yin，and even the occurrence of inner blocking causing Yang collapse. Professor XUE believes that the clinical syndrome differentiation and treatment shall be based on six meridians， and the efficacy could be improved by reference to classical prescriptions of plague in the past dynasties. To treat the disease in the early stage， the prescriptions emphasize on diffusing the lungs，inducing resuscitation and expelling pathogenic factors. He advocates the proper use of Ephedrae Herba， which can induce resuscitation of the lungs，diffuse the lungs and expel pathogenic factors，dissipate the interstitial depression and pathogenic factors in the lung interstitium. Therefore，it is considered that Ephedrae Herba is an effective medicine for diffusing the lungs，expelling pathogenic factors，inducing diuresis，eliminating dampness，promoting blood circulation and removing stasis due to cold coagulation. At the same time，the weakness of vital Qi is the root cause of the disease. The prosperity and decline of vital Qi plays a decisive role in the development， prognosis and efficacy of the disease. Professor XUE attaches importance to overall treatment，and emphasize the basis of pathogenesis， vital Qi， and stomach Qi. We shall expel pathogenic factors of disease，while protecting the vital Qi and stomach Qi. This article summarizes Professor XUE's diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19， enumerates and analyzes professor XUE's consultation cases of COVID-19 in designated hospitals in Linyi， Xinjiang and Beijing， in order to provide more ideas for the anti-epidemic effect of TCM.

Professor YU Jingmao's Experience in Treatment of Infantile Capillary Bronchitis / 浙江中医药大学学报

[Objective] To summarize Professor YU Jingmao's experience for the treatment of capillary bronchitis based on syndrome differentiation with traditional Chinese medicine. [Methods]By studying and following Professor YU Jingmao to diagnose,this paper discusses Professor YU's academic views and clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment of capillary bronchitis respectively from the aspects such as etiology and pathogenesis, and treatment based on syndrome differentiation.It expounds the characteristics of his prescription and also gives proven cases. [Result]Professor YU Jingmao proposes that the pathogenesis of capillary bronchitis is mainly the affection by exopathoge and physical weakness resulting to qi stagnation and phlegmatic hygrosis. The method of dispelling wind, reducing phlegm, depressing qi and relieving asthma was used for the treatment at the asthmatic phase; the method of clearing lung, eliminating phlegm, invigorating spleen and supplementing qi was adopted at the lag phase; the method of tonifying the lung and spleen, drying damp and eliminating phlegm was utilized at the recovery phase.[Conclusion]It's worth learning from Professor YU Jingmao's unique understanding of treatment of infantile capillary bronchitis based on syndrome differentiation and phased treatment and his component of tonification and purgation in combination and strengthening the vital qi.

Wu Liangcun’s Analysis about Clinical Experience of Ovarian Cancer’s Treatment / 浙江中医药大学学报

Objective] To summarize national famous doctor of traditional Chinese medicine-Wu Liangcun ’s experience about the clinical treatment of ovarian cancer. [Method] By studying and following Professor Wu Liangcun to diagnose, this paper discusses Professor Wu ’s academic views and clinical experience of diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer respectively from the aspects such as etiology and pathogenesis, and treatment based on syndrome differentiation. It expounds the characteristics of his prescription and also gives proven cases. [Result]Professor Wu Liangcun proposes that the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer is mainly congenital deficiency and physical weakness resulted from cold coagulation, qi stagnation, blood stasis and phlegmatic hygrosis. All these remain a standstill, gather together and become a disease. He uses the syndrome differentiation method to divide the common ovarian cancer into four types:blood stasis and vital energy retardation, phlegm dampness condensation, deficiency of liver-yin and kidney-yin, asthenia of qi and blood. In the treatment, he organically combines the dialectics and the differentiation of disease; In the selection of drugs, he streamlines the prescription and the drug, which maximizes the efforts of the drugs and has good efforts in clinic.[Conclusion] Professor Wu Liangcun is good at making a diagnosis and giving treatment of ovarian cancer in combination with disease and syndrome, and he uses medicine flexibly. It has a very good effect and practical value for guiding clinic, and it should be promoted.

With two recipes,i.e.nodule disease treated with revised Maimengdong Decoction and Xiaoluo Pill,sub-acute thyroid inflammation of granuloma treated with Haizao Yuhu Decoction and Xiaoluo Pill,it makes clinical research to discuss the causa morbi,mechanism,differentiation thought and the experiences of removing toxin,stasis,swelling,sputum,and softening mass in treating such refractory diseases.
