ABSTRACT

Q-marker of Chinese materia medica (CMM) is a latest proposed core concept of CMM quality evaluation and quality control. A wide range of relevant researches on the Q-marker have been carried out by science and technology workers since the concept was put forward. However, to date, most studies are still limited to Q-marker studies of single herbs and pieces and cannot fully reflect all the elements of the concept of Q-marker. In this paper, the scientific connotation of five elements and the principles, ideas and approaches for the discovery and determination of CMM Q-marker were systemically discussed from the perspectives of quality transmissibility and traceability, ingredient specificity, component validity, component measurability, and formula compatibility environment. Moreover, research approaches of Q-marker of CMM formula based on “five principles” were proposed. The examples of representative researches provide a systematic research idea and reference for the research and discovery of CMM Q-marker.

ABSTRACT

In recent years,with the rapid development of life sciences,changes on the understanding and requirements for innovative drugs of Chinese materia medica (CMM) from the drug approval authorities have been made.In this paper,the discovery,research and development (R & D) approaches for innovative drugs of CMM under new situations were summarized and introduced in details from five aspects as follows.The discovery of innovative drugs from active components of CMMs,active fractions of CMMs and their compound preparations,famous classic prescription,clinically effective prescriptions as well as the famous Chinese patent drugs.This paper puts forward some new ideas for the pharmaceutical researches of innovative drugs of CMM,including the production process,chemical components,quality study,quality standard and stability.This paper provided references for the discovery,R & D of CMM.

ABSTRACT

The quality of Chinese materia medica (CMM) is the lifeline of Chinese medicine industry. However, many problems are still found in the quality study on CMM, which restricts the healthy development of Chinese medicine industry to a certain extent. Aiming at the problems existing in the quality research on CMM, the research idea, method and approach of quality marker research and quality evaluation of CMM were put forward based on systematic analysis and discussion on the basic properties and clinical features of CMM according to the core concept of quality marker and the combination of research practice, from the perspective of transmission and traceability of quality elements, the relationship between chemical composition and traditional efficacy containing "drug property" and "drug function", composition analysis of endemicity based on pharmacophylogenetic study and biosynthetic approach. Finally, a new integrated mode of CMM quality evaluation and control was established.

ABSTRACT

Las experiencias y los retos en la formación laboral investigativa de los estudiantes de las diferentes carreras de las Ciencias Médicas, desde la sistematización práctica de una concepción didáctica, constituye una experiencia de investigadores y docentes de la Facultad de Tecnología de la Salud de Santiago de Cuba. La propuesta es contentiva de la exposición de un modelo de clase donde a través de una estrategia didáctica se proyecta un sistema de actividades que potencian lo interdisciplinario a través del enfoque investigativo. Es un modelo de clase no tradicional, el cual resuelve el problema de la integración de lo académico a la disciplina rectora de la carrera en que se aplique y proporciona una mejor contribución a la contextualización del contenido y calidad de los resultados en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de las Ciencias Básicas Biomédicas. Dicho modelo posee un carácter orientador, flexible, sistémico, integrador y formativo, promoviendo la creatividad de docentes y estudiantes.


The experiences and the challenges in the work formation for research of students of the different medical sciences careers, taking the practical systematization of a didactic conception as a basis , represents the experience of researchers and educators of the Faculty of Health Technology of Santiago de Cuba. The proposal contained the exhibition of a class model using a didactic strategy to show a system of activities that potentiate the interdisciplinary aspects through a research approach. It is a non- traditional class model which solves the problem of the integration of the academic aspects to the main discipline of each career and provides a better contribution to the contextualization of the contents and the quality of the results in the process of teaching /learning of the Biomedical Basic Sciences. The model has a guiding, flexible, systemic, integrative and formative character, thus promoting the creativity of educators and students.

ABSTRACT

En este trabajo se exponen los resultados parciales de un estudio exploratorio realizado en la Facultad de Tecnología de la Salud Dr. Juan Manuel Páez Inchausti de Santiago de Cuba, desde febrero de 2013 hasta enero 2014 para determinar el estado de la utilización del enfoque investigativo en el proceso formativo de los tecnólogos de la salud y su incidencia en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos y empíricos, los cuales revelaron las insuficiencias en el conocimiento y utilización de este enfoque. La investigación responde a una tarea del proyecto: Evaluación y Acreditación para el mejoramiento educativo en Santiago de Cuba. El diagnóstico tuvo como antecedente la operacionalización aportada por el proyecto que consta de 5 dimensiones, además de su sistema instrumental para las diferentes fuentes utilizadas, constatándose diversas dificultades, lo que indica la necesidad de su perfeccionamiento con vista al mejoramiento de la calidad educativa.


This paper set out the partial outcomes of an exploratory study conducted in Dr. Juan Manuel Paez Inchausti school of health technology located in Santiago de Cuba province from February 2013 through January 2014. It was aimed at determining how the research approach is used in the formative process of the health technologists and its incidence on the teaching/learning process. The theoretical and empirical methods showed the deficiencies found in the knowledge about and the use of this approach. The research responded to one of the tasks of the project named Evaluation and Accreditation for educational upgrading in Santiago de Cuba. The antecedent of the diagnosis was operationalizing concept contributed by the project, which has five dimensions, in addition to its instrumental system for the various sources. It was proved the existence of several difficulties, all of which points to the need of upgrading this research approach with a view to improving the quality of education.
