ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT The comprehensive performance evaluation system of public sports service is an important part of public sports service system in China. How to objectively and comprehensively evaluate the present situation of public sports service performance in our country has always been a difficult problem in the development of public sports service. Based on the five principles of constructing the recipient satisfaction index, the PCSSI model of the comprehensive evaluation system of public sports service supply was constructed using scale design. Large-scale stadiums in seven districts of Shenyang were selected for investigation. The recipient satisfaction index model was established to compare the satisfaction index of the 7 regions, and analyze the influencing factors of the satisfaction index of public sports service supply, and put forward some suggestions for improving the service level of large stadiums and gymnasiums in Shenyang. Practice has proved that the application of the PCSSI model has a positive effect on improving the performance level of public sports service supply in China.

ABSTRACT

Continuing Medical Education is an indispensable part of physician's learning. Well designed program based on andragogy principles can enhance learning by motivating the learner and providing platform to encourage self directed learning. The present study aimed to explore the impact of program “NAMS-AIIMS Regional Symposium on Sleep Medicine” in changing the behavior and attitude of participants using “Satisfaction Index” and descriptive analysis of responses as evaluation tools for program effectiveness. This descriptive cross sectional study captured the response of participants through a pre-tested and validated questionnaire administered at the end of symposium. The result showed almost equal sex distribution (M: F- 27: 34) with majority being UG students (86%). Reliability of data showed Cronbach's Alpha of 0.98 indicating high reliability. Satisfaction index (SI) calculated as per WHO Educational Handbook for Health Personnel showed highest satisfaction for conducive environment of symposium (87.87 %) followed by provision for time to seek clarifications (87.21%), provision of appropriate Learning Resource material (85.90 %) and handling of critical comments by organizers (85.57%). Descriptive analysis showed majority responses as highly positive to our questionnaire with suggestions for more such activity, inclusion of clinical cases and other aspects of practical relevance.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the quality of life (QoL) of patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) in different stages of the disease, by means of the Life Satisfaction Index for Adolescents (LSI-A). The practicality of this scale was also verified. The LSI-A was applied four times to 95 patients with DMD who were undergoing steroid therapy, at three-month intervals. The patients were divided into four groups according to age. The results from the four applications and the inter and intra-examiner concordance were treated statistically. Comparing the different age groups, patients with DMD did not lose QoL, even with disease progression. We concluded that, in spite of the progressive course of the disease, the QoL in patients with DMD does not get worse. The use of a scale that embraces a great diversity of circumstances in patients' lives, without considering clinical aspects excessively, is a good alternative for assessing the QoL of these patients.

O objetivo deste estudo foi de quantificar a qualidade de vida (QV) em crianças com distrofia muscular de Duchenne (DMD) em diferentes idades através do uso do questionário Life Satisfaction Index for Adolescents (LSI-A).

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in nutrient intake according to the level of self-perception of health status, aging status and life satisfaction of the rural elderly. The factors for the study were surveyed by interview method. The subjects were 270 people(71 male, 129 female) aged over 65 years(73.5 +/- 5.6ys) in the Ham-an area. The obtained results as follows : By evaluation of self-perception of health status, 57.5% of subjects answered they are in a bad health condition. The 91.5% of subjects had diseases(rheumatitis & arthritis 31.4%, cardiovascular disease 20.2%, gastric disease 10.2%). The women had more diseases than the men(p<0.01). The subjects took medical treatment in private hospital(40.5%) and public health centers(35.0%). The men showed better level of aging status(p<0.001) and life satisfaction index(p<0.01) than the worsen. Living with spouse influenced the aging status(p<0.05) and the more pocket money influenced life satisfaction(p<0.05) and aging status(p<0.05). The elderly who eat regularly 3 times a day(p<0.05) and have a good appetite(p<0.001) appeared to have positive effect on the self perception of health status and aging status. An increasing level of the self-perception of health status and regular exercise worked to improve aging status(p<0.001). The habits of smoking and alcohol drinking, however had no effect on any index. The self-perception of health status affected the nutrient intake, but only in female elderly. The aging status and the life satisfaction index related overall positively to the intake of nutrients. In conclusion, the study shows that gender did influence nutrient intake in the elderly. The women who live alone rated lowest in social resources and health condition therefore their nutrient intake was also extremely in deficit. For successful aging, a program for rural elderly is needed, i.e. actions to provide minimum economic life, food delivery and psychological/physical health care through regional public health centers.
