ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effects of Chinese herbal compound Qinghuayin on the pathological changes of gastric mucosa and interleukin-10 (IL-10) ,nitric oxide (NO) ,gasmn (GAS) and motilin (MTL) in the serum in the animal model of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG ) in rats .Methods We divided 53 Wistar rats randomly into blank control group (n=8) and CAG model group (n=45) ,and the animal model of CAG in rats was replicated by combination of disease and syndrome .After confirming the sampled rat model was successful built , the other 40 CAG rats in CAG model group were divided into model group ,vitacoenzyme tablet group ,low-dosage TMC group ,medium-dosage TMC group ,and high-dosage TMC group (each group n=8) .With the corresponding drug intervention to different rats for 30 days , the rats were executed . Then their blood was drawn from the abdominal aorta and the gastric tissue was taken to analyze the changes of serum IL-10 ,NO ,GAS and MTL concentrations and gastric mucosa pathology . Results Compared with blank control group , model group had various degrees of gastric mucosa atrophy ; decreased concentrations of serum IL-10 and GAS ; increased NO and MTL ( P<0 .01 ) .Compared with model group,Qinghuayin could improve gastric mucosa pathology in different degrees and increase the concentrations of IL-10 and GAS . Decrease the concentrations of NO and MTL( P<0 .05 or P<0 .01 ) . What's more. The curative effect in high-dosage TMC group was better( P<0. 01 ). Conclusion Chinese herbal compound Qinghuayin can effectively regulate the lopsided expressions of serum IL-10 . NO .GAS and MTL and reverse the pathological and histological changes in the gastric mucosa of CAG rats .

ABSTRACT

Background: Nitric oxide (NO) is a potent vasodilator synthesized by the vascular endothelium. It has been reported that endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) Glu298Asp gene polymorphism is associated with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methodology: In this study, we investigated Glu298Asp eNOS polymorphism and serum NO in a group of 146 age-matched male subjects; 77 patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) classified according to the severity of coronary insufficiency and 69 normal male controls. Results: The obtained frequencies of the eNOS Glu298Asp genotypes for the CAD subjects were GG (54.5%), GT (31.20%), and TT (14.3%). The allele distributions of G and T were 70.1 and 29.9%, respectively. In the control group, the genotype frequencies were 53.6% for GG, 36.2% for GT, and 10.2% for TT, and the frequencies of the G and T alleles were 71.7% and 28.3%, respectively. There were no significant differences in genotype and allele frequencies between the CAD patients and the control group. The mean serum NO levels in CAD patients was significantly higher than that of healthy subjects (p=0.0139). Conclusion: No significant association was detected when CAD severity, genotypes and NO serum levels were correlated.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of Chinese herbal compound formula on plasma endothelin and serum nitric oxide of diabetic rats. Methods The selected SD male rats were induced by streptozotoc (53 mg/kg i.p) and the model rats were divided at random into model contrasted group (MCG), Chinese herbal compound formula treated group (CTG) and ramipri treated group (RTG) while the normal contrasted group (NCG) was set up.CTG were supplied with decoctions of Chinese herbal compound formula, RTG were supplied with solution of ramipri, MCG and NCG were supplied with water. Eight weeks later, the rats were killed and their blood were collected at the same time. Changes of PG, RW/BW, 24 hUAlb, plasma ET, serum NO were observed. Results BG, RW/BW, UAlb, ET and NO of MCG, CTG and RTG were more evidently increased than that of NCG (P

ABSTRACT

Objective:To clarify the mechanism of crisis serum' mediated gametocyte infectivity to the mosquito vector Methods:Observing the effects of mouse serum , which was obtained 5 days after P yoelii infection (D5 serum) on gametocyte infectivity by IFA and mosquito live feeds, and the production of IFN ??TNF ??IL 4 and NO - 2 in the hosts in vivo and in vitro by ELISA and Griess reaction And to investigate the ability of malaria parasitized red blood cell extract (PRBC extract) to induce NO Results:The development of the gametocytes from mice 5 days postinfection into ookinetes were completely inhibited D5 serum was not immediate to inhibit gametocyte development, which was injected intravenously into the mice 3 days after P yoelii infection But 4 h later after injection D5 serum stimulated the increasing IFN ? and NO production and inhibited gametocyte infectivity Moreover, PRBC extract showed the ability to induce NO Conclusion:Infected host serum blocks transmission of P yoelii via a nitric oxide dependent mechanism
