ABSTRACT

Introducción: escasos son los estudios que investigan el conocimiento sexual y las conductas sexuales de las mujeres dentro de un periodo tan importante como lo es el embarazo. En esta etapa se producen una serie de cambios que repercuten en su vida y por lo tanto en su sexualidad, por tal motivo es que surge realizar este trabajo de investigación. Objetivo: evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y conducta sexual durante la gestación, en un grupo de gestantes que acuden al Centro de Atención Periférica Número 8 perteneciente a la Dirección General de Atención Periférica de la Dirección Nacional de Sanidad de la Fuerzas Armadas. Materiales y métodos: se realizó un análisis observacional, descriptivo y prospectivo de cohorte transversal de los datos obtenidos a través de entrevistas realizadas a embarazadas. Se entrevistan gestantes que cursan los tres trimestres de embarazo y concurren a sus controles obstétricos en el periodo comprendido entre el 22 de abril y 22 de julio de 2021 que cumplen con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Para alcanzar el objetivo se aplicó un cuestionario con respuestas cerradas que consta de 11 preguntas basadas en conocimientos y conductas sexuales en gestantes. Resultados: el 52% de nuestras pacientes gestantes encuestadas tienen más de 30 años, 52% cursa su primera gestación y 51% un embarazo no deseado, pero si aceptado. El 61% de ellas dicen que el estar embarazadas afectó su actividad sexual, 39% refiere que son más satisfactorias las relaciones sexuales en el segundo trimestre, 78% manifiesta que el mantener relaciones sexuales no adelanta el parto, el 83% expresa que la posición menos recomendada es boca arriba, el 9% no saben dónde se localiza el tapón mucoso y el 100% de las encuestadas no tuvo educación sobre sexualidad en los controles prenatales. Conclusiones: durante el embarazo se producen cambios anatómicos, psicológicos y emocionales que provocan cambios en la actividad sexual. La educación que tienen sobre sexualidad es nula por lo que es recomendable la implementación de programas formativos de educación sexual en gestantes y sus parejas para afrontar una salud sexual plena.


Introduction: there are few studies that investigate the sexual knowledge and sexual behaviors of women in such an important period as pregnancy. During this stage, a series of changes take place that have repercussions in their lives and therefore in their sexuality, which is the reason why this research work has been carried out. Objective: to evaluate the level of knowledge and sexual behavior during pregnancy in a group of pregnant women attending the Peripheral Care Center Number 8 belonging to the General Directorate of Peripheral Care of the National Health Directorate of the Armed Forces. Materials and methods: an observational, descriptive and prospective cross-sectional cohort analysis of the data obtained through interviews with pregnant women was carried out. Pregnant women in the three trimesters of pregnancy and attending their obstetric check-ups between April 22 and July 22, 2021 who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were interviewed. To achieve the objective, a questionnaire with closed answers consisting of 11 questions based on knowledge and sexual behaviors in pregnant women was applied. Results: 52% of our pregnant patients surveyed were over 30 years of age, 52% were in their first pregnancy and 51% had an unwanted pregnancy, but accepted it. 61% of them said that the pregnancy was unwanted. Sixty-one percent of them say that being pregnant affected their sexual activity, 39% say that sexual relations are more satisfactory in the second trimester, 78% say that having sexual relations does not advance labor, 83% say that the least recommended position is on the back, 9% do not know where the mucus plug is located and 100% of the respondents had no education on sexuality in prenatal checkups. Conclusions: During pregnancy there are anatomical, psychological and emotional changes that cause changes in sexual activity. The education they have about sexuality is null, so it is advisable to implement sex education programs for pregnant women and their partners in order to achieve full sexual health.


Introdução: há poucos estudos que investiguem o conhecimento sexual e o comportamento sexual das mulheres durante um período tão importante como a gravidez. Nesta fase, ocorre uma série de mudanças que têm repercussões em suas vidas e, portanto, em sua sexualidade, razão pela qual este estudo de pesquisa foi realizado. Objetivo: avaliar o nível de conhecimento e comportamento sexual durante a gravidez em um grupo de mulheres grávidas que freqüentam o Centro de Atenção Periférica Número 8 pertencente à Direção Geral de Atenção Periférica da Direção Nacional de Saúde das Forças Armadas. Materiais e métodos: foi realizada uma análise observacional, descritiva e prospectiva de coorte transversal dos dados obtidos através de entrevistas com mulheres grávidas. Foram entrevistadas mulheres grávidas no terceiro trimestre de gestação e que compareceram aos check-ups obstétricos entre 22 de abril e 22 de julho de 2021, que preenchiam os critérios de inclusão e exclusão. Para alcançar o objetivo, foi aplicado um questionário com respostas fechadas que consiste em 11 perguntas baseadas em conhecimentos e comportamentos sexuais em mulheres grávidas. Resultados: 52% de nossas pacientes grávidas pesquisadas tinham mais de 30 anos de idade, 52% estavam grávidas pela primeira vez e 51% tiveram uma gravidez indesejada, mas aceitaram-na. 61% deles dizem que estar grávida afetou sua atividade sexual, 39% dizem que as relações sexuais são mais satisfatórias no segundo trimestre, 78% dizem que ter relações sexuais não antecipa o trabalho de parto, 83% dizem que a posição menos recomendada é na parte de trás, 9% não sabem onde o plugue de muco está localizado e 100% dos entrevistados não tiveram nenhuma educação sobre sexualidade nos check-ups pré-natais.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the awareness of adolescent sexual knowledge among primary school students in Hangzhou City, so as to provide insights into adolescent sex education.@*Methods@#In May 2021, grades 5 and 6 students were sampled from 5 primary schools in urban areas and 5 primary schools in suburban areas of Hangzhou City. The demographic features, awareness of adolescent sexual knowledge and sources of acquiring adolescent sexual knowledge were investigated using electronic questionnaires, and the awareness of adolescent sexual knowledge were analyzed among primary school students.@*Results@#Totally 1 812 students completed valid questionnaires, including 861 grade 5 students ( 47.52% ) and 951 grade 6 students ( 52.48% ), 936 boys ( 53.86% ) and 836 girls (46.14%), and 912 students living in urban areas (50.33%) and 900 students living in suburban areas ( 49.67% ). The awareness rates of adolescent physiological knowledge, adolescent health knowledge, private parts and sexual harassment behaviors were 53.20%, 46.30%, 60.49% and 92.55%, respectively, and the awareness rates of adolescent physiological knowledge ( 69.52% vs. 39.14%; χ2=168.001), adolescent health knowledge (55.74% vs. 38.22%; χ2=55.619 ), private parts ( 72.49% vs. 50.20%; χ2=93.550 ) and sexual harassment behaviors ( 96.05% vs. 89.55%; χ2=27.621 ) were significantly higher in girls than in boys ( all P<0.05 ). The awareness rates of adolescent physiological knowledge ( 63.72% vs. 41.58%; χ2=88.989 ), private parts ( 64.56% vs. 55.98%; χ2=13.926 ) and sexual harassment behaviors ( 93.80% vs. 91.17%; χ2=4.509 ) were significantly greater among grade 6 students than among grade 5 students ( all P<0.05 ), and the awareness rates of adolescent physiological knowledge ( 69.96% vs. 36.22%; χ2=207.041 ), adolescent health knowledge (58.99% vs. 33.44%; χ2=118.903 ) and sexual harassment behaviors ( 96.16% vs. 88.89%; χ2=34.754 ) were significantly higher among students living in urban areas than among students living in suburban areas ( all P<0.05 ). Primary school students mainly acquired sexual knowledge from their parents ( 1 208 students, 66.67% ) and teachers ( 1 161 students, 64.07%), and the source of life was the predominant demand for sexual knowledge ( 969 students, 53.48% ).@*Conclusions@#The awareness of adolescent sexual knowledge remains to be increased among grade 5 and 6 primary school students in Hangzhou City. More attention paid to male students and students living in suburban areas, and building a school-family-community educational network are recommended to increase the awareness of adolescent sexual knowledge among primary school students.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To investigate the awareness and identify the influencing factors of sexual knowledge among primary and middle school students in Butuo County, Sichuan Province, so as to provide insights into sex education.@*Methods@#Six primary and middle schools were randomly sampled from 40 primary and middle schools in Butuo County using the cluster sampling method on March and April, 2021, and a class was randomly sampled from each of grades 4 to 6 of primary schools and grades 1 to 3 of junior high schools, with all students from the class as study subjects. Students' demographic features and awareness of sexual knowledge were investigated using self-designed questionnaires, and the factors affecting the awareness of sexual knowledge were identified among primary and middle school students using multivariable linear regression analysis.@*Results@#A total of 980 questionnaires were allocated, and 957 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 97.65%. The respondents included 458 boys ( 47.86% ) and 499 girls ( 52.14% ), and included 908 students with Yi Ethnicity. The respondents included 802 primary school students ( 83.80% ) and 155 junior high school students ( 16.20% ). The awareness of sexual knowledge was 21.94% among the primary and middle school students, and their sexual knowledge was predominantly derived from parents ( 338 students, 35.32% ) and teachers ( 335 students, 35.01% ). The awareness of sexual knowledge was significantly lower in boys than in girls ( 17.69% vs. 25.86%; χ2=8.344, P=0.004 ), and the awareness of sexual knowledge appeared a tendency towards a rise with age ( χ2trend = 63.908, P<0.001 ). Low awareness of sexual knowledge was seen in students with fathers going out for labor ( 19.54% ), mothers going out for labor (11.24%) and living in the countryside ( 14.32% ) ( χ2=7.790, 9.224 and 34.144, all P<0.01 ). Multivariable linear regression analysis showed that students living in the countryside, students’ mothers going out for labor, ages of 12 to 14 years and ages of over 14 years were factors affecting the score of sexual knowledge ( β'=-0.072, 0.341, 0.645 and 0.843, all P<0.05 ).@*Conclusions@#The awareness of sexual knowledge is low among primary and middle school students in Butuo County. Health education of sexual knowledge should be emphasized on male students, those living in the countryside and students with mothers going out for labor.

ABSTRACT

@#Health professionals, especially nurses, in primary care setting are considered most appropriate for providing sexual health care. To provide quality sexual health care, nurses should have adequate sex knowledge and hold positive attitude towards sexuality. However, nurses’ perceived inadequate knowledge and negative attitudes towards sexuality were reported to be two major barriers to sexual health care, yet little is known about these barriers among nursing students in Hong Kong. This study was conducted to examine sex knowledge and attitudes towards sexuality among nursing students in Hong Kong. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on the first year nursing students (N= 258) who were recruited to participate via convenience sampling. The General Sexual Knowledge Scale (GSKS) and Attitude towards Sexuality Scale (ATSS) were used to collect data for this study. The data were analysed by descriptive statistics and independent t-test. Results Sex knowledge was 10.4 ± 3.5 and sexual attitude was 32.9 ± 4.6 indicating nursing students’ sex knowledge was poor and their sexual attitudes were neutral. Sex knowledge was positively related to the sexual attitudes (r = 0.47, p < .01). The attitudes were more liberal in students aged 20 years old or above than students aged 19 or below. Sexual attitudes were also more liberal among students who did not reported religious affiliation than students who did. Conclusions Knowledge and positive attitudes regarding human sexuality needed to be promoted among nursing students. Findings from this study provided useful information in preparing nursing students to render high quality sexual health care in primary care settings.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study sought to investigate influence factors affecting reproductive health promoting behavior of female college students. METHODS: The study collected data using self-administered questionnaires among 166 female students at four universities located at a metropolitan city. And using SPSS 21.0 program, the study conducted analysis by means of technical statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression analysis. RESULTS: The level of reproductive health promoting behavior of female college students was 3.3±0.3 points on average. Reproductive health promoting behavior had a significant variance depending on age (F=4.70, p=0.045). Reproductive health promoting behavior had positive correlations with sex knowledge (r=0.24, p=0.040), intention to visit an obstetrics-gynecology (r=0.18, p=0.020), awareness of visit thereto (r=0.32, p<.001). Influence factors emerged in the order of awareness of visit to an obstetrics-gynecology (β=0.30, p<.001), intention to visit (β=0.16, p=0.036) with explanatory power of 12.2% (F=6.73, p<0.001). CONCLUSION: To improve reproductive health promoting behavior of female college students needs to develop and apply sex education programs.

@#<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>BACKGROUND: </strong>The steady rise in the number of teenage pregnancies in Los Baños, Laguna was identified as a public health concern that needs to be addressed immediately given the numerous complications to the teenage mother and her infant.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>METHODS:</strong> The study used a multicomponent strategy which included 1) a survey of Grades 7-12 students, 2) training of midwives, and 3) advocacy for parents to enhance existing projects on teenage pregnancy.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>RESULTS:</strong> The survey showed that students value the opinion of friends of the same gender but prefer to get information from a health professional.</p><p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>CONCLUSION:</strong> The students did not see their parents as a preferred source of information for sexual health. Approximately one-third of the respondents mistakingly believed that teenagers will never get pregnant during their first sexual encounter. Recommendations include training teachers to provide professional advice, inclusion of more schools for the survey, further training on other counselling techniques, and extension of advocacy to other pertinent sectors of the community.</p>

ABSTRACT

Objective: The youths' sexual behaviors are counted as the main priorities of the public health due to the high prevalence of unwanted pregnancies, illegal abortions, and sexually transmitted infections. This research was carried out to explain the youths' contraceptive knowledge and practice in premarital sexual relationships. Methods: This qualitative research was carried out on 30 single boys and girls aged 18–24, living in Isfahan, Iran, who had already started sexual activities. Data collection was done with semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed by using conventional content analysis. Results: Two main categories were extracted including inadequate awareness regarding contraception (with subcategories “unreliable information sources” and “gender inequality in familiarity with contraceptive methods”) and inappropriate contraceptive practice (with sub-categories “use of unreliable contraceptive methods” and “gender inequality in applying contraceptive methods”). Conclusion: Sexual health education programs should equip the youths with adequate knowledge on contraception and use of reliable contraceptive methods. Furthermore, attempts should be made along with tackling gender inequality is very significant for youths' sexual and reproductive health security.

Objective To establish the questionnaires of sexual knowledge demands ,that was used for providing a tool to as‐sess the knowledge of college students and carry out targeted education .Methods The initial theoretical frame and items of ques‐tionnaires of sexual knowledge demands were generated from literature review and open questionnaire survey ;127 students were in‐tended the pretest and 901 students were intended the formal test .Then ,item analysis ,exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted to assess its reliability and validity .Results The items of questionnaires of sexual knowledge demands was consis‐ted of 29 items belonging to five factors which were sexual behavior ,moral of sex ,the psychology of interrelation between males and females ,sexual physiology of males and sexual physiology of females .The cronbachαcoefficient of the scale was 0 .904 ,confirmato‐ry factor analysis showed the fit indexes reached the standard of good fitting indicators(χ2/df = 6 .10 ,CFI= 0 .92 ,NFI= 0 .91 , NNFI=0 .91 ,RMSEA=0 .09) .Conclusion The questionnaires of demands of sexual knowledge has good reliability and validity , and can be used for related research .

Objective To understand the knowledge of sexual and reproductive health of undergraduates with different nationalities and provide scientific basis for sexual and reproductive health education in the nationalities university.Methods A self-developed questionnaire about sexual,reproductive health and sexual attitude was used to carry out investigation among 2 200 freshman.Results Formal education (family and school) do not become the main source of the sex knowledge; there were statistic significance of the comparison of sexual,reproductive knowledge and sexual attitude among minority undergraduates and Han nationality undergraduates,as well as among undergraduates from different minorities.Conclusions The undergraduates are thirsty for gaining general sexual knowledge from school and family during the period of university.It is necessary to improve sexual and reproductive knowledge through various ways for minority undergraduates.

ABSTRACT

Objective To know the master condition about sexual knowledge in female workers in Dongguan, and then carry out certain effective community nursing intervention to populize the related knowledge in female workers. Methods Divided 3000 femle workers with 18-35 years old who had selected in 9 factories in Dongguan into the DV group and the teacher education group randomly, there were 1500 cases in each group. Video displaied was used in the DV group in certain propert time, teacher education about sexual knowledge was used in the teacher education group, compared the master condi-tion of sexual knowledge before and after the interventioni by questionnair in the two groups respectively, and then summarized the results. Results There were no significant differences between the two groups about sexual knowledge before the intervention, while after the intervention, the master conditon of sexual knowl-edge in the DV group were better than those of in the teacher education group. Conclusions Video dis-play is a kind of saving, effectiveness, open-end and circular mode for female workers to pepulize sexual-related knowledge, which should be ranging used.

ABSTRACT

Youth sexuality is a great concern for many. Sexual health issues facing our youths are: premarital sexual intercourse, sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted and unsafe pregnancies and abortions, sexual diversity, HIV/AIDS, and cybersex. Various factors lead to risky sexual and reproductive health behavior, particularly among those unmarried youths: lack of sexual and reproductive health information and skills in negotiating sexual relationships and the inaccessibility of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services. Growing peer pressure of pre-marital sex plays a major role in sexual and reproductive health related decision-making among youths. Another factor is the issue of sexuality education which is still considered a sensitive topic and thus impinging on its implementation, due to cultural and religious constraints. Misunderstanding and a lack of information on sexual diversity have caused a concern for many, as there is a tendency for judgments, stereotypes, discriminations and prejudices towards homosexuality in the society. Online sexual activities or cybersex have become the next sexual revolution. Negative consequences are shown for those hooked on cybersex. Healthy youths are fundamental to the prevention initiatives. Promoting the sexual and reproductive needs and rights of our youths is warranted

ABSTRACT

PURPOSES: This study examined the relationship between risk behaviors and sexual knowledge, sexual attitudes, and sexual experiences of male high school students. METHOD: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted. Data were collected from 2 male high schools in metropolitan Gwangju. Five hundred forty-eight boys were enrolled in this study. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test or ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation were used for data analysis. RESULTS: The mean sexual knowledge and sexual experience scores were relatively low, 0.60 out of 1 point, and 0.75 out of 4 points, respectively. Three attitude types of the students were identified: permissible, conservative and pleasure seeking attitude. The score of the permissible type was affected by the subjects' exposure to pornographic material. The score of the conservative type was affected by alcohol consumption and acquaintances with a heterosexual friend. The score of the pleasure seeking type was affected by their exposure to pornographic material, alcohol consumption, smoking, going to a video-room, and acquaintances with a heterosexual friend. There was a negative correlation between the permissible type and sexual knowledge, and a positive correlation between the conservative and pleasure seeking types and sexual experience. CONCLUSION: Male high school students who have been exposed to risk behaviors have a higher likelihood of indulging in sexual activity, and the pleasure seeking type appears to be related to sexual experience. An educational program may be needed to prevent risky behaviors and sexual experiences in male high school students considering their sexual attitude type.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study was conducted to look at the relationship among sexual consciousness, reproductive health knowledge and sexual experience. METHOD: the subjects were 276 high school students in 4 high schools in Gyonggi Province and Chungnam Province. The data was collected from August 1 to September 10, 2003. RESULT: The average age of the subjects is 16.5 years old, composed of male students, 154 persons (55.8%), and female students, 122 persons (44.2%). The mean scores of sexual consciousness, reproductive health knowledge and the mean level of sexual experience are 28.9, 10.5, and 1.7 respectively. There is a significant difference in sexual consciousness and sexual experience by sex (t=-3.22, p< .001; t=8.17, p< .001), the male students have more sexual experience than the female students, while the girls have a higher sexual consciousness than boys. Sexual consciousness has a negative relationship with reproductive health knowledge and sexual experiences (r=-0.13, p=0.04; r=-0.17, p=0.01). Sexual experience has a positive relationship to reproductive health knowledge (r=0.21, p< .001). CONCLUSION: We can conclude that sexual consciousness and reproductive health knowledge are weakly related to sexual experience. In addition we suggest developing an educational program to enhance sexual consciousness for high school students considering sexual differences.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to measure knowledge, attitude, experience of sex, sexual autonomy and the need of sex education of college students in order to provide sex information. METHOD: The subjects of this study were 356 college students. The data were collected from October 26 to December 5, 2003 by using a structured questionnaire. RESULT: The respondents' score of sexual knowledge was relatively low as 53.7 mean score on the basis of 100. However, the scores of sexual knowledge related to masturbation, induced abortion, and contraception were relatively high. The respondents' score of sexual attitude was 3.09. The respondents' score of sexual autonomy was 3.89. The percentage of subjects that experienced sexual intercourse was 41.6% and there was a difference between the gender. There was a positive correlation between sexual knowledge and sexual autonomy and between sexual knowledge and sexual attitude. There were significant differences in the sexual knowledge, sexual attitude and sexual autonomy depending upon the experience of coitus. The respondents expressed the need of sex education in college. CONCLUSION: An integrated sex education program should be developed and contents must have a concrete and honest education which is appropriate to college students.

METHOD: This study surveyed 661 middle school students from three schools in Seoul and Chunchon. RESULTS: The average degree of sexual knowledge was 31.5, while attitude was 32.5. There were statistically significant differences in sexual knowledge in relation to: coeducational environment (t=-5.776, p=.000), grade (F=36.351, p=.000), father's age (t=-2.510, p=.012), mother's age (t=-2.146, p=.032), economical status (F=3.264, p=.039), source of sexual knowledge (F=8.484, p=.000), the degree of interest in the opposite sex (F=16.871, p=.000), sexual discussions with parents (t=3.556, p=.000), sexual discussions with teachers (t=2.847, p=.005), and sex education (t=2.148, p=.032). Likewise, stastically significant differences in sexual attitudes were linked to: coeducational environment (t=-7.646, p=.000), subject's grade (F=32.743, p=.000), parental marriage status (t=2.338, p=.020), mother's age (t=-2.048, p=.041), source of sexual knowledge (F=6.917, p=.000), the degree of interest in the opposite sex (F=15.559, p=.000), sexual discussions with parents (t=3.908, p=.000), and sexual discussions with teachers (t=2.946, p=.003). The students level of sexual knowledge and attitude was significantly correlated (r=.686, p=.000). CONCLUSION: This study indicates a variety of systematic sexual education programs are needed for middle school student at home and school.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to measure the knowledge. Attitude and the needs of sex education for college students in order to provide basic sex education information. METHOD: For this study, the questionnaires were given to 320 students in the H, D colleage of Daegu and collected during the period from August 25 to October 25, 2003. These results were analyzed statistically by means of frequency, percentage, t-test, chi-squire test. RESULT: Female students have a high score of sexual knowledge about genital physiology, sex physiology, V. D. and contraceptive. Both gender in sexual knowledge, male students correctly responded 86.4% form ejaculating sperm from the penis. Females on the other hand correctly responded 96% in the highest score to menstruation blood through out the vagina. Both gender male and female is wished to be co-education in sex education in college at a freshmen level. Sex education should be under by special lecture when education is in progress. Males student want to learn more about V.D. Females in the other hand want to learn a lot about contraceptive. CONCLUSION: In conclusion college sex education should be basic, knowledgeable and for the future of there on going marriage. It should be responsible in sex education, it should run under regular curriculum in college.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the positive aspects of sexual knowledge in high school students. METHOD: The participants were 1,106 students from two high school in Hong Cheon, Korea. Data were collected between June 1st and June 30th, 2001. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS program to investigate responses to a structured questionnaire. RESULT: The level of sexual knowledge in the high school students was 13.83 (range 1 to 19). In terms of the response distribution for sexual knowledge by items, the correct response rate was highest for "wet dream", and the incorrect response rate was lowest for "sexually transmitted disease". There were significant differences in sexual knowledge according to the general characteristics of gender and grade (women: 14.07, men: 13.48; 12th grade: 14.52, 11th grade: 13.92, and 10th grade: 13.12). It was found that there were significant differences in sexual knowledge according to method of sex education, teacher, and effect of sex education. CONCLUSION: The level of sexual knowledge in high school students was low; thus, more effective methods to enhance the sexual knowledge of men students on sexually transmitted diseases and contraception are needed.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study aims at not only suggesting some ideas useful in planning and doing the sexual education in the middle schools in the near future putting into test the sexual education program which has been developed by researchers in accordance with the national education courses but also improve sexual health of the adolecents through taking right sexual knowledge and sound sexual attitude. METHOD: Non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. The number of experimental group students was 37 and the number of controll group students was 37. A total of 74 first grade "H"middle school girls at H district in KangWon-Do were selected for a convenience sampling method and have been taught the sexual education program during 6weeks, 12times. RESULT: The findings of the study are as follows: After the sexual education program, the sexual knowledge of experimental group show to be significantly different from that they had before(t=-5.861, p=.000). So, this finding indicating that the adolescent sexual education program helps the ado have and expand the correct sexual knowledge accordingly. In order to look into any change of the sexaul attitudes of experimental group after the sexual education program, there were not significant difference(t=-1.083, p=.286). But some items were significant. It is discovered that the adolescence come to have more affirmative and sound sexual attitude after sexual education program. CONCLUSION: As the findings of the study indicate, it may be concluded as follows: Since the sexual education program can affirmative influence on the sexual knowledge and sexual attitudes of the adolescence, it is recommendable to perform the sexual education program suitable for every stage of growth and development should be developed, qualified teachers and the educational materials should be reinforced and added enough and institutional device should be made to execute the sexual education program systematically.
