ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the changes of nutrients in colostrum, transitional milk, mature milk and late milk after storage at indoor temperature for 3 h, at 4 ℃ for 24 h, at -18 ℃ for 30 d, and at -18 ℃ for 90 d, so as to select the most suitable storage method of milk. Methods Fifteen pregnant women registered in the Shanghai Hongkou Liangcheng Village Street Community Health Service Center, who were expected to give birth from January to June in 2019, were selected. The breast milk of each woman was followed from delivery to 10 months after breast-feeding. Colostrum, transitional milk, mature milk and late milk were sampled, and each sample was divided into 5 parts. Changes in protein, fat, lactose, minerals, carbohydrates, vitamins and bacterial colony number of breast milk were detected according to 0 h(16-18 ℃), 3 h (16-18 ℃), 24 h (4 ℃) to 37 ℃, 30 d (-18 ℃) to 37 ℃ after thawing at 40 ℃ and 90 d (-18 ℃) to 37 ℃ after thawing at 40 ℃. Results The results showed that the nutritional components of milk in different stages decreased with time. However, there was no significant difference in the decline of nutritional components in different stages of milk after the same duration of time ( P >0.05). Conclusion The milk at each stage can be stored, and the lactating mother can store the excess milk at any stage as she wishes.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: The aim of this work was to study the change in antioxidant activity depending on storage temperature and storage period in romaine and cherry. METHODS: The plant material was stored at 0.7 +/- 0.6degrees C, 3.5 +/- 2.8degrees C, and 4.7 +/- 1.4degrees C. Cherry and romaine were stored for a period of 9 days and 7 days, respectively. The cherry was taken from each group of samples at regular intervals of days and the romaine was taken from each group of samples at regular intervals of 2days. Vitamin C, total polyphenol, and total flavonoid stability and antioxidant capacity including DPPH, total antioxidant capacity (TAC) were measured. RESULTS: For cherry, the levels of TAC and flavonoid were higher at the 0.7 +/- 0.6degrees C condition than other conditions (p 4.7 +/- 1.4degrees C > 3.5 +/- 2.8degrees C. CONCLUSION: The results indicated that the narrow differences and fluctuation in temperature were associated with antioxidant capacity and it might enhance the nutritional shelf life of vegetables and fruits.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the conformance of drug storage condition in our hospital with the criterion of Good Supply Practice of Drug(GSP)or drug instructions. METHODS:The ratio of drugs which should be stored at cold chain or below 20 ℃ or room temperature in our hospital in 2013 was analyzed statistically according to drug instruction and GSP(2013 edition). The conformance of storage condition between our hospital and GSP(2013 edition)or drug instructions was analyzed retrospective-ly. RESULTS:Among 1 338 drugs in our hospital in 2013(886 domestic drugs,66.22%;452 imported or import-packing drugs, 33.78%),110 drugs should be refrigerated(8.22%),3 be frozen(0.22%),271 be kept below 20 ℃(20.25%)and 954 be kept at room temperature(71.30%),respectively. CONCLUSIONS:Through continuous improvement of management, drug storage con-dition could meet the requirements of GSP (2013 edition) and drug instruction. In order to ensure drug quality, the government should improve related laws and regulations, and promote the operability of storage condition stated in drug instruction.

ABSTRACT

The germination rate and longevity of seeds of Gastrodia elata Blume have been observed for 48 weeks using Mycena osmundicola strain H-21, one of fungi stimulating seed germination. Storage condition of post-harvest seeds was observed in the different temperature ranges of -30degrees C, -5degrees C, 5degrees C and 30degrees C for 48 weeks. After storage period of 48 weeks, the germination rate of G. elata was 65.7% at 5degrees C and 71.6% at -5degrees C, respectively. Although the germination rate of G. elata was 77.3% for 11 weeks at 25degrees C, the germination rate had been decreased gradually to 49.3% at 13 weeks, 0.3% at 23 weeks and then 0% at 25 weeks. The germination rate was reached to the level of 10% for 2 weeks at -30degrees C and then decreased to 0%.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the effects of seed sources and storage conditions on the seed germination rate of Valeriana officinalis. Methods The seeds of V. officinalis under different storage conditions were used as materials for germination test, and the germination rate was calculated and compared according to the results. Results The seed germination rate of valerians is varied with different sources. The seed germination rate of V. officinalis is higher than that of V. officinalis var. latifolia, and the seed germination rate of cultivated valeriana is much higher than that of the wild plant. The storage periods, storage temperature, and germination conditions also affect the germination rate. Conclusion To maintain the seed germination rate, the seed of V. officinalis should be stored in conditions with ventilation and at suitable low temperature. Lower temperature helps to prolong the seed life with relatively high germination rate. Valeriana seed should also be propagated at available temperature conditions in proper seasons.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the effects of storage condition on the quality of Semen Armeniacae Amarum. Methods Orthogonal design was adopted. The storage condition was optimized with temperature, humidity and storage time as the observation factors, with the content of amygdalin, and the content, acid value and peroxide value of fatty oil as the indexes. The content of fatty oil, acid value and peroxide value were measured according to the methods provided by 2005 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The content of amygdalin was measured by HPLC. Results Temperature was the main influencing factor of amygdalin content, then came humidity and storage time. Temperature was also the main influencing factor of the concent and the acid value of fatty oil,and the humidity was the second. For peroxide value, humidity was the main factor, then came temperature and storage time. Conclusion The optimal conditions of storing Semen Armeniacae Amarum as follows:storage in dry place with the temperature of 2~ 8 ℃,and in short storage time.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the influence of storage time and condition on the chemical components in the volatile oil of Fructus Evodia by GC-MS.Methods The volatile oil was extracted from Fructus Evodia by steam distillation and the amount of each components in the volatile oil was determined by area normalization method and the components were identified by GC-MS.Results One hundred and sixteen components were separated and identified, which accounted for more than 90% in the total constitutes of the volatile oil.The content of volatile oil in Fructus Evodia was influenced by the storage time and condition. Conclusions The method is reliable and has a good repeatability, and can be applied to analyze volatile components in Fructus Evodia. This will provide a certain scientific basis for the storage and clinical application of Fructus Evodia.

ABSTRACT

The influence of storage time and temperature of rat's blood and liver on cyanide concentration is reported in this paper. It was investigated when the blood and liver were kept in temperature 4℃ for 168h. There was little change in cyanide concentration. When they were kept in temperature 200170, the concentration of cyanide was increasing as the duration was prolonged. The cyatiide concentration in liver was 1. 17 times higher at 168th hour than at 4th hour.
