ABSTRACT

The field experiment was conducted at Agronomy Research FaTArm, Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Narendra Nagar (Kumarganj) Faizabad (U.P.), during Rabi season of 2014-2015. The yield components like number of spikes m-2, spike length (cm), number of grain spike-1, grain weight spike-1(g), grain yield (kg ha-1), straw yield (q ha-1) and nitrogen contain in grain (%), nitrogen contain in straw (%), nitrogen uptake in grain (kg ha-1), nitrogen uptake in straw, protein content in grain (%) were maximum under 160 kg N ha-1 and among the varieties over PBW-373, NW-1014 being at par with HD-2327. The main aim of trial conducted that to know the different varietal parameters of wheat crop.

ABSTRACT

A field experiment was carried out in 2020-21 at Instructional Farm, Department of Vegetable Science, Dr. PDKV, Akola with the objective to find out superior genotype of cluster bean for its quality parameters and cost of production i.e., gum content (%), protein content (%), test weight (g) and economics respectively. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications and twelve treatments as genotypes. With respect to quality parameters, genotype IC-329639(T4) recorded maximum gum content (32.86 %), while maximum protein content (38.33 %) was found in genotype IC-298638(T8) and maximum (3.98 g) test weight in the genotype IC-421837(T7). Consequently, with regards to economics, highest gross returns (Rs 174000 ha-1), net returns (Rs 129137.7 ha-1) and B:C ratio (3.87) was recorded in the genotype IC-329639(T4).

ABSTRACT

The investigation entitled “Evaluation of rice varieties (Oryza sativa L.) on the basis of physiological and morphological traits” was conducted during the Kharif season, 2019-2020 at the field of Student’s Instruction Farm, Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Kumarganj, Ayodhya. Nine elite rice genotypes were shown in RBD with three replications, and morphological data were recorded. i.e., Plant height (cm), tiller number per plant, ear bearing tillers per plant, dry weight per plant(g), number of grains/plant, test weight(g), grain yield per plant. The plant height was, plant dry weight and number of tillers per plant obtained maximum in Sambha Sub-1 in comparison to other genotypes.

ABSTRACT

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), often known as gramme or Bengal gramme, is a self-pollinated leguminous crop with diploid annual (2n = 16 chromosomes) that belongs to the family Leguminosae and subfamily Papilionaceae. During the Rabi season, it is the most significant crop in India. Chickpeas are a high-energy, high protein, and low carbohydrate food. Gram is a grain that is utilised for both human consumption and animal feed. It comes in flour, whole grain, roasted, and cocked varieties. The most common forms consumed by people are salted Dahl or sweet concoctions, as well as green foliage and grain as vegetables. In the Rabi season, 60% of pulses are grown, and 40% in the Kharif season. Chickpeas are high in calories, protein, minerals, vitamins, and fibre that may be useful to one's health. For biochemical characteristics on selected potential genotypes/varieties of chickpea [Cicer arietinum (L)], seeds of chickpea genotypes/varieties were obtained from legume Breeder, Department of Genetics and Plant breeding, CSAUAT, Kanpur. The experiment was planned in the Department's Research Laboratory in order to achieve the goals of their research. Dhal percent, husk percentages, broken dal, percentage loss in processing, protein, test weight, grain yield quintal/ha, were 71.40-82.92g, 7.50-17.74 percent, 2.00-5.60 percent, 20.85-23.95 percent, 21.45-27.70g, 21-30q/ha, respectively. In genotypes K3256, Avrodhi, KGD1296, KGD2021, K3256, K3256 of the varietal trail, lower husk percentage, broken percentage, and processing loss were identified, as well as greater nutritional elements such as protein content also identified.

ABSTRACT

Aim: This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of varieties and spacing on growth and yield of green gram (Vigna radiate L.) Study Design: Split Plot Design. Place and Duration of Study: The experiment was conducted during season of 2021 at G.H. Raisoni University Student Research Farm, Saikheda. Methodology: The experiment consisted of three main treatments varieties Kopargaon (V1), Sindhu (NVL-605) (V2) and PDM-139 (Samrat) (V3) and four sub treatments spacing 30 cm x 10 cm (S1), 30 cm x 15 cm (S2),45 cm x 10 cm (S3) and 45 cm x 15 cm (S4). Number of branches per plant, leaves per plant, pods per plant, pod length, grains per pod, test weight, seed and stover yield per hectare, protein content. Results: Number of branches per plant (8.60), leaves per plant (21.00), pods per plant (15.53), pod length (8.55 cm), grains per pod (9.80), test weight (37.66 g), seed (9.06q/ha) and stover yield (18.49 q/ha), protein content (22.78%) Conclusion: green gram variety PDM-139 (Samrat) sown spacing of 30 cm x 10 cm recorded significantly higher growth and yield parameters.
