ABSTRACT
Osteoporosis is a systemic bone metabolism disease characterized by low bone mass, bone microstructure destruction, increased bone fragility, and easy fracture，which is more common in the elderly. Animal medicine, as an important part of natural medicines, has the characteristics of wide resources, complex chemical components, and broad pharmacological effects. It has been extensively used in the field of anti-osteoporosis. This article summarizes the pharmacological effects and applications of several major animal medicines for osteoporosis, and discusses the existing problems, aiming to provide a reference for the development of animal drugs against osteoporosis.

Objective : To examine how to treat patients suffering from electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) combined with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) with herbal medicines. Methods : The patient was diagnosed as having blood stagnation (血瘀), yang deficiency (陽虚) and spleen qi deficiency (脾気虚) based on the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory. Hoyokangoto which had been applied to patients with hemiplegia for a long time in China, was prescribed with cinnamon and processed aconite root. For her persistent diarrhea, ogikenchuto was administered. Results : Headache, sense of exhaustion, insomnia, and various symptoms debasing her quality of life (QOL) were shortly decreased, which made her lead a normal life. Discussion : The administration of hoyokangoto combined with cinnamon and processed aconite root added qi (気), removed blood stagnation and accelerated blood circulation and collateral channels, implying that elimination is the first (先瀉). The administration of ogikenchuto for diarrhea (spleen qi deficiency) means that tonic is the second (後補), which improved her symptoms of EHS combined with MCS. Herbal medicines may be one of the choices for treating degraded QOL of patients with EHS and/or MCS.

[Conclusion] Professor's experience in treating chronic diarrhea is well worth learning for it always gets outstanding effect.

[Objective]Investigating Professor WANG Peijuan's clinical experience in treating PCOS from studying the kidney. [Method] This paper mainly studied by arranging and researching the tutor's theory and experience about treating PCOS that based on the practice in clinic with the teacher as a self perception,the collection about the PCOS cases of tutor's clinical treatment and the analysis of national and international relative literature combined with self-awareness. [Result]Professor WANG thinks that PCOS is the disorder of qi and blood and the transformation failure of kidney-Tiangui-Chongren-uterus, which leads to phlegm and blood stasis, blocking in the uterus and making menstruation lose its inhere periodicity. The disease is of the kidney deficiency and phlegm stagnation syndrome.[Conclusion]Professor WANG holds that to use the method of tonifying kidney properly and attach importance to the three categories of etiologic factors will be effective to the treatment of PCOS. [Result] Type-2 diabetes mellitus belonging toXiaokecategory which features excessive discharge of urine and persistent thirst in Chinese medicine, but their pathogenesis is not the same, Professor SUN Zhi based on years of clinical observation found that patients with type-2 diabetes mellitus commonly manifested obese, polyorexia and accompanied by fatigue, summarized asstrong stomach and weak spleen. Tonify the deficiency and purge sthenia, using acupuncture manipulation, regulating spleen and stomach function, by reducing method of acupuncture Zhongwan, Zusanli and Neiting to inhibt stomach and control appetite, reinforcing method of acupuncture Sanyinjiao, Taibai, Pishu to enhance the transport of the spleen, meaning purging stomach and tonifying spleen. This treatment of type-2 diabetes mellitus in clinic achieved good results. [Conclusion]Purge stomach and tonify spleentreatment offers a new way of acupuncture to treat diabetes, deserving further exploration, popularization and application.

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of fire-needle acupuncture in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. Method Sixty subjects were randomized into two groups by using the sealed envelope method. The control group was intervened by conventional medications; after classified into four syndrome types, down diffusion of damp-heat, liver qi stagnation, turbid stagnation and kidney qi deficiency, the treatment group was majorly treated with fire-needle acupuncture in addition to filiform-needle acupuncture. Fire-needle acupuncture was performed at Guanyuan (CV4), Qugu (CV2) and bilateral Dahe (KI12), once a week, for continuous 6 months; the filiform-needle acupuncture was majorly at Baihui (GV20) and Qihai (CV6) with adjunctive points modified according to different syndromes, twice a week, 8 sessions as a treatment course, for 5 courses in total. Result The improved rate was significantly higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05);the residual urine volume was significantly changed after the intervention in both groups (P<0.01), and the decrease in the treatment group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Fire-needle acupuncture can improve the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and lower the residual urine volume.

Objective]To summarize herbal medicine application regulation of Professor Wu Liangcun in gastric cancer treatment. [Methods]Collect 116 gastric cancer patients from Chinese medicine clinic system during January 1,2014 to December 31, 2014 and establish clinical prescription underlying database. Apply descriptive analysis to drug cumulative frequency, drug-induced taste and nature and apply cluster analysis to 42 drugs using more than 10 times. [Results] In the 116 gastric cancer patients,159 kinds of herbs were used ,the cumulative frequency of herbal medicine was 1816.GanCao was the herb with highest usage frequency, and then was FuLing, ShanYao, TaiZishen;According to accumulated frequency, herbs with tonifying function were at the top position(herbs with tonifying qi function were most), and then was the herbs with function of herbs with the function of clearing excessive heat, herbs with function of herbs with the function of relieving dyspepsia, herbs with function of herbs with the function of regulating qi. In terms of herbs' nature and taste, herbs with sweet taste, plain nature were used most. Cluster analysis divided all used herbs into 5 sections, involving prescriptions Sijunzi decoction, Erchen decoction, and couplet medicines DaoYa with GuYa, JiNeijin with MiHoutao, SheShecao with XianHecao and so on. [Conclusions] Professor Wu Liangcun treats gastric cancer with the law of tonifying qi, the main prescription is the same as Sijunzi decoction, emphasizing nourishing Yin and clearing away the heat-evil, protecting gastric, accompanied with promoting digestion and regulating qi.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)for treating HBeAg positive chron-ic hepatitis B virus(HBV)carriers with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome.Methods The patients with HBeAg and HBV DNA positive,normal serum ALT and AST for successive 3 times within 1-year follow up,complicating different degrees of symptoms were included.Among them,the patients with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome according to the TCM dif-ferentiation were selected as the treatment obj ects and treated by the prescription of soothing the liver,tonifying spleen and detoxifi-cation.The changes of clinical symptoms and HBV markers after 6-month therapy were observed and followed up for 3 months for evaluating the effect persistance.348 cases were recruited,161 cases in the control group and the other 187 cases in the treatment group.Treatment group underwent traditional Chinese medicine treatment.Results 168 cases finished the therapy with the total effective rate of 80.3%(135/168),6 cases were HBeAg negative conversion and 14 cases were HBV DNA decrease greater than or equal to 2 logarithmic grades;157 patients finished 3-month follow-up and the effective rate was 80.9%(127/157),4 cases were HBeAg negative conversion and 1 1 cases were HBV DNA decrease greater than or equal to 2 logarithmic grades.The curative effect of treatment group was higher than that of control group.Conclusion The TCM prescription of soothing the liver,tonifying spleen and detoxification has definite effect for treating HBeAg positive chronic HBV carriers with liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome,the symptoms can be significantly improved.

Objective] To observe the clinical efficacy of Agkistrodon in treating Sjogren's syndrome. [Methods] 52 patients were randomly divided into two groups: Treatment of 26 patients taking Agkistrodon and the basic prescription medicine(YIQIYANGYINQUYU drugs); 26 patients in the control received the basic prescription medicine. The clinical symptoms,the disease activity score of SSDAI,the score of TCM symptom and life quality and the index of serology were recorded in this clinical observation. [Results] The treatment group had better results of immune function than the control group after treatment, in particular had a substantial decrease in IgG. In addition, the clinical symptoms, the disease activity score of SSDAI, the score of TCM symptom and life quality were improved. [Conclusion] Agkistrodon has significantly immunosuppressive effects on the patients with Sjogren's syndrome , thus improving the patients' condition,the standard of living and the quality of life.

[Objective]We summarized Professor Zhang Weihua’s clinical experience in treating constipation and diarrhea alternating bowel dysfunction by Chinese medicine. [Method] This paper revealed the professor Zhang Weihua ’s experience of curing constipation and diarrhea alternating bowel dysfunc-tion by analyzing the etiology and pathology ,therapeutic principles and relevant cases .[Results] The etiology and pathology of constipation and diarrhea alternating bowel dysfunction is root deficiency and tip excess ,and cold-heat complex ,the disorders of E. conduction,and the treatment should focus on using warming and heat-clearing simultaneously, tonifying spleen and kidney. [Conclusions] The experience of Professor Zhang Weihua in treating con-stipation and diarrhea alternating bowel dysfunction is effective and thought-provoking in treatment.

[Method]To 30 of such cases ,take resvised wu pi decoction to strengthen spleen and tonify kidney, remove dampness and prevent miscarriage, observe patient chest dis-tress, abdominal distension and liquid intake and output volume of 24 hours etc.;Then estimate the clinical effect,and analyze one typical case.[Result]The marked effective rate was 60.00%, with total effective rate 96.67%. [Conclusion] The clinical application of resvised wu pi decoction treating mild and moderate OHSS by strengthening spleen and tonifying kidney,removing dampness and preventing miscarriage has excellent curative effect.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Yangyin Huoxue decoction(the function of decoction is to tonify Qi,nourish Yin and enhance blood circulation)on salivary gland response attribute to radiotherapy.Methods This study,carried between January 2005 and December 2005,focused on the effect of Chinese herbs on salivary gland response attribute to radiotherapy.In the treatment group,30 cases took Chinese herbs during the duration of radiotherapy,while in the control group 30 cases were given routine therapy.Results Both groups had finished the radiotherapy,however,in the control group,there were 5 cas- es with a break for 1～2 weeks.For the comparison of the salivary gland change in acute stage,there was no variance(x~2=2.387,P=0.122);the latency for the salivary gland change in treatment group was longer than that in control group(x~2=13.106,P=0.000).For the comparison of Karnofsky after radiotherapy,the KS was superior in the treatment group than that in control group(x~2=12.685,P=0.013);For the comparison of objective effect after radiotherapy,the remission rate in treatment group was 90 %,and it was 86.7 % in control group(x~2=0.638,P=0.727).Conclusion The decoction can remit the salivary gland response caused by radiotherapy in clinic,prolong the latency for acute radioactive response;release the pain of the pa- tients,increase the achievement ratio for radiotherapy,and improve the patients'living condition.To combine with radiotherapy,Chinese herbs is a good supplemental therapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma
