ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the incidence of congenital cleft lip and cleft palate in Shanxi province and its trend from 2010 to 2020.Methods:The clinical data of perinatal infants from 2010 to 2020 were collected from Shanxi Provincial Hospital Monitoring System, and the distribution, prenatal diagnosis, the incidence of cleft lip, cleft palate, and the trend were analyzed. Results:From 2010 to 2020, among 843 457 prenatal infants in Shanxi province, there were 1 264 cases of cleft lip and/or cleft palate with an overall incidence rate of 1 4.99/10 4. Among them 199 cases were cleft palate (15.74%) with an incidence rate of 2.36/10 4; 358 cases were cleft lip (28.33%) with an incidence rate of 4.24/10 4; 707 cases were cleft lip with cleft palate (55.93%) with an incidence rate of 8.38/10 4. The overall incidence of cleft lip and/or cleft palate was significantly decreased from 2010 to 2020 ( χ2=104.04, P<0.001). The incidence of cleft lip in rural area was higher than that in urban areas (19.13/10 4vs. 11.50/10 4, χ2=81.29, P<0.001); the incidence in male infants was higher than that in female infants (16.41/10 4vs. 13.41/10 4, χ2=90.59, P<0.001). There were significant differences in the incidence of cleft lip and cleft palate among different maternal ages ( χ2=58.40, P<0.001); the incidence in maternal age<20 years (21.66/10 4) and 20-<25 years (21.06/10 4) was higher than that of other groups. The proportion of prenatal diagnosis of total cleft lip was 27.85% (352/1 264), which showed an increasing trend ( χ2=6.96, P=0.008). Conclusion:From 2010 to 2020, the incidence of congenital cleft lip and palate in Shanxi province shows a decreasing trend, while the prenatal diagnosis rate shows an increasing trend.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the variation tendency of correlative test indexes in the patients with type 2 diabetic mellitus (T2DM) and diabetic nephropathy (DN) .Methods The urinary microalbumin (M‐Alb) ,blood glucose and renal function were de‐termined in 167 cases of T2DM .Then the cases were divided into the simple DM group ,early DN group and clinical DN group ac‐cording to the excretion rates of urinary M‐Alb .The determined results were compared among 3 group and analyzed .Results The age in the simple DM group was smaller than that in the early DN group and clinical DN group (P<0 .05) .The positive rates of u‐rinary M‐Alb and urinary protein were highest in the clinical DN group ,the differences among 3 groups had statistical significance (P<0 .05) .The difference of blood glucose indexes had no statistical difference between the simple DM group and early DN group , the clinical DN group was apparently higher than that in the simple DM group and early DN group (P<0 .05) .The levels of urea (Urea) and creatinine(Cr) in the simple DM group were significantly lower than those in the early DN group and clinical DN group ,the differences among 3 groups had statistical significance (P<0 .01) .Conclusion The severe the DN ,the higher the urina‐ry M‐Alb ,blood glucose and renal function indicators ,the higher the positive rates of urinary protein and urinary glucose ,the more significant the tendency of renal function damage .

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the incidence , distribution and trend of birth defects in Fengxian District of Shanghai . [ Methods] The population-based surveillance data of birth defects from 28 gestational weeks to 42 days postpartum was retrospectively analyzed . [ Results] A total of 15 744 perineonates were monitored , in which 277 cases of birth defects were detected .From 2008 to 2010 , the rate of birth defect was 138.94 per 10 000,162.28 per 10 000 and 230.66 per 10 000, respectively, which indicated a rising trend of incidence .The main types of birth defects in turn were congenital heart disease , deformity of external ear , umbilical hernia , synpolydactyly , syndactyly , chilopalatognathus , hemangioma , hydrocephalus , and neural tube defect . [ Conclusion] The rise of birth defects in recent years should be taken seriously . The surveillance and the comprehensive prevention on birth defects should be strengthened .

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Owing to increase in elderly population, the importance of geriatric health is accentuated strongly. We surveyed cancer patients aged 60 years or more to investigate the common cancers, time trend to compare with whole cancer patients. METHODS: We analyzed the data of cancer patients aged 60 years or more who were admitted cancer patients, diagnosed by pathologic biopsy, received radiotherapy, registered as cancer patients on death certification and diagnosed by the other methods in a university hospital from January, 1987 to December, 1995. RESULTS: We analyzed at intervals of three year, from 1987 to 1989. The order of common cancer sites were stomach(30.1% ), lung(19.9% ), liver and intrahepatic(11.4% ), bladder (6.2% ), colon(5.5% ), gallbladder and extrahepatic(4.9%), rectosigmoid(4.2% ), pancreas (3.2%), cervix(2.9%), esophagus(2.8%) and the number of patients was 1025. From 1990 to 1992, the order of common cancer sites were stomach(23.5%), lung(19.3% ), liver and intrahepatic(10.3% ), gallbladder and extrahepatic(4.4% ), rectosigmoid(4.2% ), pancreas (3.9%), cervix(3.7%), colon(3.5% ), esophagus(2.7%) and the number of patients was 1470. From 1993 to 1995, the order of common cancer sites were stomach(19.5%), lung(17.2%), liver and intrahepatic(11% ), rectosigmoid(5.1% ), colon(4.5% ), gallbladder and extrahepatic(4.5% ), bladder(4.1% ), cervix (3.8% ), pancreas(3.7% ), esophagus(2.0% ) and the number of patients was 1519. CONCLUSIONS: Stomach, lung, and hepatic cancers were decreasing and rectosigmoid and pancreatic cancers were increasing in triannual frequency of cancer patients aged 60 years or more, The proportion of elderly patients in all age cancer patients was increasing except gallbladder and extrahepatic cancer. According to the prolongation of life span, cancer frequency increased in old age.
