ABSTRACT

@#Objective     To investigate the effect of intravenous analgesia with a wireless or traditional analgesia pump system in thoracoscopic lung resection. Methods     Patients who used the patient-controlled intravenous analgesia after thoracoscopic lung resection between June 2016 and June 2021 were enrolled in the study. They were allocated into a wireless pump group (a ZigBee-based wireless analgesia pump system collecting data automatically) and a traditional analgesia pump group. Perioperative analgesia management followed the routine standard operation protocol of Shanghai Chest Hospital. The patients’ numeric rating scale (NRS) for pain and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) scores were collected for analysis from the Anesthesia Information Record System. The incidence of postoperative analgesia insufficiency (defined as NRS≥4 points) within 48 h, the incidence of PONV within 24 h, and the 48 h completion rate of analgesia pump infusion were compared. Results    A total of 59 431 patients were collected, including 24 855 males and 34 576 females, 17 209 patients in the wireless pump group, and 42 222 patients in the traditional analgesia pump group. The incidence of analgesia insufficiency within 48 h after operation (3.75% vs. 4.98%, P=0.007), the incidence of PONV within 24 h after operation (13.60% vs. 16.70%, P=0.030) in the wireless pump group were lower than those in the traditional analgesia pump group. The 48 h completion rate of analgesia pump infusion in the wireless pump group was higher than that in the traditional analgesia pump group (83.40% vs. 71.90%, P<0.001). The wireless pump group could monitor the pressing times and use of the analgesia pump, while the traditional analgesia pump group could not record the relevant data. Conclusion    Compared with the traditional analgesia pump, the wireless analgesia management system may be convenient for timely, accurate and individualized management, and has good analgesic effect and low incidence of adverse reactions, and may be more suitable for perioperative analgesia management.

ABSTRACT

Wireless network is the fast-growing technology. The world is moving towards the wireless technology and it is used each and everywhere. Wireless network is used in many ways and one of the applications is medical application. In wireless technology, Antennas play an important role in data transmission. Antennas are electronic eyes and ears of humans in the modern world. There are many applications of antenna in medical field. One of the applications is data transmission in wireless capsule endoscopy. Wireless capsule endoscopy is the advancement of wired endoscopy. Wireless capsule endoscopy is used to diagnose the problems in the gastro intestinal tract, stomach and intestines which cannot be identified from outer observation or through x-rays or any other tests. The doctors watch the travel of capsule in the display and diagnose the problems which will be easier for the treatment. The types of antennas in medical field are Ingestible antennas, On body wearable Antennas, Implantable antennas, Antenna for MRI, Microwave Imaging, Thermal Ablation. For wireless data transmission in wireless capsule endoscopy, Microstrip patch (MSP) antenna is designed using Duroid as substrate in the frequency of 2.45 GHz with efficiency of 88% and gain of 4.86 dB. Microstrip patch antenna is selected as it is smaller in size which is most important characteristic of capsule endoscopy. In MSP antenna, copper is used for ground and patch, Duroid is used as the dielectric medium for the substrate as it gives higher efficiency, higher gain and higher directivity.

ABSTRACT

In the recent years, wireless communications are extremely useful in many disciplines including health monitoring, environment monitoring, signal processing etc. State estimation and prediction are quite challenging tasks in wireless communications. Traditionally, in the literature, dynamic state-space models have been used for the state estimation and predic- tion purpose. The estimation method is based on Kalman-Filter which is computationally demanding. In this work, we consider computationally simpler Gibbs sampler algorithm for the state estimation. We consider three different cases, (i) continuous state values, (ii) binary (0/1) state values, and (iii) categorical state values with more than two categories. We consider a simple linear model for the prediction purpose, and the underlying regression coefficients are estimated by Gibbs sampler. We compute the misclassification proportions for assessing the practical usefulness of our estimation approach. Areal dataset where 200 wireless sensor nodes are used for measuring the temperature of a chamber is analysed in this work

ABSTRACT The association between fast-growing mobile technologies and increasingly more mobile devices has allowed the introduction of virtual environments into daily activities. That includes the health care domain, where concepts such telemedicine, telehealth, eHealth, and mHealth have emerged. In addition to presenting these new concepts, this article aims to discuss the advancements and challenges of mobile health technologies stemming from considerations regarding development, application, legal aspects, and ethics. Because of their innovative nature, mobile health technologies entail the engagement of many actors in the journey to reach end users, covering conception, technical development, sanitary regulations, and design of clinical guidelines, having raised a great deal or interest in terms of monitoring and care across a variety of clinical conditions. However, assessment of the effectiveness and safety of mobile health technologies does not seem to involve the same methodological rigor imposed for clinical trials of drugs and other health products; still, the enthusiasm produced by this innovation counters some of the regulatory and ethics concerns relating to data protection, privacy, access to mobile devices, and technological or social inequality. Despite possible limitations, mobile technologies, as well as other telehealth resources, have produced promising results. Digital healthcare has great potential for expansion and represents an opportunity for the review of traditional practices with selection of mobile technologies for incorporation into the health care system whenever evidence-based benefits are verified.

ABSTRACT

Body temperature is an important physiological parameter of the human body and is used in medicine to reflect the physiological state and health status of the human body. At present, the commonly used clinical thermometers on the market are mainly divided into contact and non-contact types. Most of them are used for rapid body temperature measurement, and it is not easy to monitor body temperature changes in real time. This article introduces a new wearable wireless body temperature monitoring system based on NTC, which senses through NTC. The temperature changes are amplified and filtered, zeroed, and calibrated, and then the temperature data is uploaded to the mobile phone APP via Bluetooth in real time to achieve real-time accurate measurement of body temperature.

ABSTRACT

This process is determined by the partnership between health professionals, family and school. Objective: Identify the relation between the use of remote microphone system (RMS) in hearing impaired students and the use by teachers, which favored or hindered their adaptation and the school development of hearing-impaired students. Method:175 subjects between 5 and 17 years of age who received the HAT in a hearing health service between the years 2017 and 2018 were analyzed. Parents and teachers of users were also subjects of the study. The functioning of the HAT and the classification regarding its use was verified. Result: Most of the individuals who 'use' HAT are in elementary school, and those who 'don't use it voluntarily' are in high school and middle school. Considering the type of school, most who 'don't use voluntarily' the HAT is in school or room for deaf students using sign language /or has interpreter in regular school. Conclusion:There was an association between the use of the HAT and the type of school. It is recommended that the type of school is a criterion for the indication of the device. The educational level was also a determinant variable in the use of the device at school.

ABSTRACT

Wireless power transfer (WPT) is a new power transmission way, which can be widely used in electric vehicles and other fields. Its electromagnetic environment must be analyzed to ensure safe application. A low-power wireless power transfer system experimental platform was built, with 25 W receiving power and 47 kHz resonant frequency, which was used to carry out animal experiments. Treatment mice were exposed to environment of wireless power transfer system for 5 h a day and 6 days as one cycle. At the end of every cycle, learning memory behavior of mice were detected in T-shaped maze. The exposure experiment lasted for 12 weeks. Finally, immune parameters, sex hormones and part of organ physiological structure were detected. The results are as follows: as exposure time increased, memory behavior of mice did not change obviously with no statistical difference in sex hormone either ( > 0.05), the concentration of immune factors including tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin 6 (IL-6) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) significantly increased ( < 0.05), and the structure of some organs showed some changes. The experimental results show that the environment of the wireless power transfer system has no effect on the memory behavior of mice, and has some effect on physiological properties of mice.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To observe the application value of wireless amplified nuclear MR detector (WAND) in high-resolution MR imaging of temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Methods: Totally 16 healthy youths underwent bilateral TMJ MR scanning using head-neck combined coil and WAND coupled head-neck combined coil respectively. The anterior band, intermediate band, posterior band, anterior attachment, posterior attachment and double plate area, articular cavity, condylar bone of TMJ on the images obtained with 2 methods were observed and subjectively evaluated. The image quality of the articular disc, whose signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were evaluated for objective evaluation. The subjective scoring and objective evaluation were compared between 2 groups. Results: A total of 15 subjects were included. Compared with images obtained with head-neck combined coil, images obtained with WAND coupled head-neck combined coil had obvious advantages in displaying the disc of anterior, middle and posterior, anterior attachment, posterior attachment, double-plate area and joint cavity and condyle bone of TMJ (all P<0.05), also had significantly higher CNR and SNR of the articular disc and posterior tissue of TMJ (both P<0.05). Conclusion: WAND coupled head-neck combined coil can improve MR image quality of TMJ.

ABSTRACT

0.9 between all observers). Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the predictive power for CAD was improved when max-CIMT and plaque information (plaque≥2) was added [area under the curve (AUC): 0.838] to the traditional clinical CV risk factors (AUC: 0.769). The cutoff values for CAD prediction with the standard device and the WHUS device were 1.05 mm (AUC: 0.807, sensitivity: 0.78, specificity: 0.53) and 1.10 mm (AUC: 0.725, sensitivity: 0.98, specificity: 0.27), respectively.CONCLUSION: max-CIMT measured by a WHUS device showed excellent agreement and repeatability, compared with standard ultrasound. Combined max-CIMT and plaque information added predictive power to the traditional clinical CV risk factors in detecting high-risk CAD patients.
