ABSTRACT

A field experiment titled “Effect of Phosphorus and Boron on Growth and Yield of Rice Bean” conducted during the Zaid season of 2022 at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences, Prayagraj (U.P.) India. To study the Response of Phosphorus and Boron on the growth and yield of Rice Beans. The treatments consist of Phosphorus 20, 40, 60 kg/ha and Boron (Borax 0.01% 20 DAS, Borax 0.02% 40 DAS, and Borax 0.03% 60 DAS). The experiment was laid down in a Randomized Block Design with ten treatments which are replicated thrice. The soil of the experimental plot was sandy loamy in texture, nearly neutral in soil reaction (pH 7.8), and low in organic carbon (0.35%). Results obtained that the higher plant height (106.90 cm), higher number of nodules (30.94), higher number of branches (8.84) higher plant dry weight (49.25 g/plant), a higher number of pods/plant (26.25), higher number of seeds/pod (7.19), higher 1000 seed weight (58.19 g), higher seed yield (2.10 t/ha) and higher stover yield (4.66 t/ha) were significantly influenced with application of Phosphorus 60 kg/ha + Boron 0.03% at 60 DAS. Higher gross return (INR 1,15,500.00 /ha), higher net return (INR 84,155.70/ha) and higher B:C ratio (2.68) were also recorded in treatment-9 (Phosphorus 60 kg/ha + Boron 0.03% 60 DAS).

ABSTRACT

The field experiment titled “Effect of Nitrogen and Boron on Growth and Yield of Foxtail Millet” was conducted during Zaid 2023 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Naini Agricultural Institute, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. The soil of experimental plot was sandy loam in texture, nearly neutral in soil reaction (pH 7.8), low in organic carbon (0.62%), available nitrogen (225 kg/ha), available phosphorus (38.2 kg/ha) and available potassium (240.7 kg/ha). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with ten treatments which are replicated thrice. Results obtained that significantly higher plant height (83.52 cm), plant dry weight (14.06 g), length of ear head (15.70 cm), number of grains/ear head (1,413.09), test weight (3.64 g), grain yield (1.68 t/ha), stover yield (3.88 t/ha), harvest index (33.79%) higher gross return (69,291.48 INR/ha), net return (48,099.98 INR/ha) and B:C ratio (2.27) were recorded in treatment 9 with the application of (Nitrogen 60 kg/ha + Boron 0.03%).

ABSTRACT

The study was conducted during the Zaid season of 2022 on Sunflower crop at the crop research farm (CRF) in the Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P.) India, which is located at 25024' 42" N latitude, 810 50' 56" E longitude and 98 m altitude above the mean sea level, for evaluating the impact of different levels of Sulphur and foliar application of boron on sunflower crop. The experimental design consisted of 10 treatments, including a control, with 3 levels of Sulphur (40, 45, and 50 kg/ha) and 3 levels of Boron (200 ppm at 30 and 45 days and 100 ppm at 30 and 45 DAS). The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with ten treatments and three replications. The results revealed that application of Sulphur 50 kg/ha in combination with Boron 100 ppm at 30 and 45 DAS showed the highest stem girth (2.96 cm), plant dry weight (50.67g/plant) and the yield attributes namely number of seeds per capitulum (367.86), Test weight (40.84 g), Seed yield (1.48t/ha) and Stover yield (3.87t/ha) and the highest benefit cost ratio (1.70).

ABSTRACT

A field experiment was carried out in Zaid 2022 at the Department of Agronomy's Agricultural Research Farm in Prayagraj (U.P).The three planting geometries used in the experiment are 30 cm x 10 cm, 40 cm x 10 cm, and 50 cm x 10 cm. There are three nitrogen management treatments used in the experiment: 50% of the Recommended Dose of Nitrogen (RDN) through inorganic fertiliser, 50% of the RDN through inorganic fertiliser in combination with 50% of Nitrogen provided through FYM with Azotobacter seed inoculation, and 50% of the RDN through inorganic fertiliser. Ten treatments were duplicated three times in the randomised block design of the experiment. Findings showed that 30x10cm spacing ,Maximum plant height (124.48 cm), dry weight (29.85 g), number of capsules/plant (78.69), number of seeds/capsule (36.39), and seed yield (552.38 kg/ha) were obtained with 5% RDN + 50% N via FYM + Biofertilizer (Azotobacter).

ABSTRACT

A field trail was maintained at crop research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj for Zaid season 2022. The exploratory plot’s soil had a sandy loam texture, a (pH 7.1) that was natural, a low in organic carbon (0.28 %), available N (225 kg/ha), available P (19.50 kg/ha) and available K (213.7 kg/ha). The Treatments consisted of 3 levels of Sulphur Levels S1 (20 Kg/ha), S2 (30 Kg/ha), S3 (40 Kg/ha) and 3 levels of zinc (Zn1-5 kg/ha), (Zn2- 7.5kg/ha) and (Zn3-10 kg/ha). The outcome reported that the of Sulphur 40 Kg/ha + Zn 10 Kg/ha recorded maximum (Treatment-9) Plant height (63.33 cm), Number of Nodules per plant (28.00), plant dry weight (12.78 g/plant), number of pods per plant (39.61), number of seeds per pod (12.66), test weight (32.3 g), seed yield (0.868 t/ha), straw yield (2.287 t/ha) and harvest index was only found to be non-significant. Maximum Gross returns (77182.00 INR/ha), Net returns (53550.00 INR/ha) and B:C ratio (2.2) was recorded with the treatment (T9) with the application of Sulphur 40 Kg/ha + Zinc 10 Kg/ha.
