ABSTRACT
Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is still a major public health issue in China, and without effective control, it can further progress to liver cirrhosis and liver cancer, bringing huge social and economic burdens. At present, antiviral therapy is the main treatment method for CHB, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapy is the characteristic treatment method for CHB in China and can improve clinical efficacy by complementing each other’s advantages. In order to promote the concept integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine collaborative diagnosis and treatment, facilitate the development of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment techniques for CHB, and establish standardized disease diagnosis and treatment regimens, Expert Committee on Hepatology in Doctor Society of Integrative Medicine, Chinese Medical Doctor Association, established a consensus expert group to discuss and formulate Expert consensus on integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment of chronic hepatitis B, which elaborated on the concept of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine collaborative diagnosis and treatment from the four aspects of CHB epidemiology, pathogenesis and etiology, integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and syndrome differentiation, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapy and proposed related recommendations, in order to improve the prognosis and quality of life of CHB patients.
ABSTRACT
To promote the construction of a wound repair and regeneration system with Chinese characteristics, it is necessary to follow the principle of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and integrate theory, clinical practice, and teaching. Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes a holistic concept and the principle of dialectical treatment, while Western medicine focuses on etiological analysis and local treatment. The combination of Chinese and Western medicine can complement each other's advantages and improve treatment effectiveness. The key technological innovations in repairing and regenerating systems cover areas such as drug therapy, physical therapy, and the application of biomaterials. This article discusses the development potential and challenges of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the field of wound repair and regeneration, providing new ideas and methods for the development of wound repair and regeneration. It is expected to bring better medical services and treatment effects to patients undergoing repair and regeneration.
ABSTRACT
Cholestatic liver disease is a common disease of the hepatobiliary system. Its etiology and pathogenesis are complex. The establishment of an appropriate animal model of cholestatic liver disease is the basis for further study of its pathogenesis and prevention. This study summarized the existing modeling methods, mechanisms, and characteristics of this model, and analyzed its alignment with the clinical disease and syndrome characteristics of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine based on the modern clinical diagnostic criteria and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome characteristics of cholestatic liver disease, so as to provide a reference for establishing standard animal models and evaluation methods for cholestatic liver disease that accord better with the clinical practice of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine.
ABSTRACT
Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy of an integrated traditional Chinese and Western medication regimen on depression in the elderly. Methods:Sixty elderly patients with depression were randomly divided into two groups. The integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine group was treated with an in-house preparation composed of traditional Chinese medicine ingredients plus Escitalopram oxalate for 4 weeks, and the control group was treated with Escitalopram oxalate for 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy was assessed by the Hamilton depression(HAMD)scale.Adverse drug reactions were assessed by the treatment emergent symptoms scale(TESS).Results:After 4 weeks of treatment, HAMD scores in both groups were decreased compared with those before treatment, with a greater reduction in HAMD scores in the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine group than in the control group(0.71±4.36 vs. 0.52±3.45, t=2.54, P=0.03). TESS scores were lower in the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine group than in the control group after 4 weeks of treatment(8.42±5.30 vs.16.01±7.02, t=3.25, P=0.02). Conclusions:Compared with Western medicine therapy alone, the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medication regimen has better efficacy and fewer adverse drug reactions for the treatment of depression in the elderly.
ABSTRACT
Based on the holism, the medical and health care model of the Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine & Western Medicine is referred that the practitioners who work with the TCM & Western medicine, apply the methods combined westem medicine with TCM to treat patients and health educationfrom the "person-centric" holism.Professor Ka-Kit Hui,who is the founder of the East and West Medical Center (CEWM) belonged to the University of California,Los Angeles vigorously advocate, and always adhere to the education and clinical. In this paper,we briefly introduced this model.Taking clinical case discussion of CEWM as an example,we focused on and summarized how the team of CEWM applied this model to train the clinical practitioners who would like to work in the Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine & Western Medicine.Through this paper,we hope we could get some useful references for the education of Chinese integrated traditional Chinese medicine & westem medicine practitioners.
