ABSTRACT

Virtual reality (VR) is a technology that interacts computer-generated three-dimensional scenes with the user′s senses and has been gradually applied in the real medical field. Since the first time of successful attempt in 3D laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery VR living video broadcast in 2016, the authors have experienced the exploration of the application of this technology (2016-2017) as well as the in-depth research phase (2018-2019). Nowadays, the VR application in our center has entered into the application practice phase (2020 to present). With the technology iteration and more and more application experience acquisition, our current VR application mainly focuses on two practice settings, including the clinical teaching scenarios for early exposure to acute appendicitis for medical undergraduate students and the preoperative communication to give pati-ents an early sense of the process in the operating theatre, and has achieved good application results. With continuous breakthroughs and innovations in software and hardware, we believe that more clinical VR scenarios and the course audience will be expanded to a wider group. The integration of some new hotspots such as Meta-Universe and ChatGPT will make up for the shortcomings in VR content scenarios and interactivity, and its application prospects are infinite.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the application effect and learning experience of the medical MOOCs teaching design model based on live streaming platform constructed by the research group in its previous research. Methods:The preparation of the design patterns from the teaching, teaching activities and teaching evaluation of the three dimensions based on the questionnaire, and 368 junior undergraduates majoring in clinical medicine in Batch 2018 of Army Medical University who had applied the online teaching of medical MOOC instructional design mode based on live broadcast platform were selected as the survey objects. And learners' satisfaction and learning experience with this teaching model was analyzed. SPSS 25.0 was used for t test. Results:In the study, 74.2% (273/368) of the learners believed that the teaching design model of medical MOOCs based on live streaming platform had good effect and was helpful to themselves; 60.6% (223/368) of the learners had a high degree of satisfaction, with good teaching effect feedback. In terms of the mastery of MOOCs knowledge content, the final English score of the experimental group (429.03±35.86) was better than that of the control group (401.87±25.85), with statistical significance ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The teaching design model of medical MOOCs based on live streaming platform is applicable, and helpful to improve online learning experience, solve the problem of insufficient interaction in MOOCs learning, and provide practical basis and method reference for the innovative application of teaching model in medical colleges and universities in China.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To increase the success rate of endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery live broadcast by careful design and well-organized implementation in large medical meetings. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the experience of endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery live broadcast, including digestive, gynecologic, urologic and general surgical operations, from fifteen large-scale national and international conferences in our hospital from January 2006 to December 2012. After communicated with doctors and fully understood patient illness, we analyzed the characteristics, requirements and the forms of the meetings while making emergency measures for the live broadcast, then careful designed procedure for the meeting and next well-organized implementation of our plans. Results: All the endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery live broadcasts were successful. The audio and visual transmission system worked well during the meetings. There was no image interruption occurred in the live broadcast. Conclusion:Careful laparoscopic surgery live broadcast, which is a good method for endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery technique. Our experience of endoscopic and laparoscopic surgery live broadcast it has development application value.
