ABSTRACT

It was stated previously that 7-methyl-2, 2,5-triphenyl-l-oxa-5,6-diaza spiro-[2,4]-hept-6-ene-4-one undergoes pyrolytic fragmentation at 140 degree for 1 hr to give an oil. GC/MS investigation of the pyrolyzate oil revealed the presence of nineteen fragments [1]

ABSTRACT

The complexes: Fe [Beta- dik][3], 1, K Pt [Beta-dik][2] Gl], 2 and K[Pd [Beta-dik][2] C1]4u, 3, [where Beta-dik = delta [phenylmercapto] - acetoacet - p- methoxyanilide] were prepared. IR investigations showed that coordination sites are not the same in all complexes. Complex I is octahedrally linked via the oxygen atoms of the ligand anions, whereas complexes 2 and 3 are square planar complexes. The ligating sites are the oxygen atoms of one ligand anion, the central carbon, atom of another ligand anion and the fourth position is occupied by the chloride ion. The acid dissociation, constant of the ligand as well as the formation constants of its metal chelates were determined at 20 degree in 60 percent ethanol-water media
