ABSTRACT

Aim: The present study was carried out to find out growth pattern in school children from different socio economic background. Study design: Cross sectional, school based study. Setting: Mukul Mandir and Pragati School in N – 7 CIDCO Aurangabad. Study variables: Age, Sex, Weight, Height and Chest circumference. Statistical analysis: Standard deviation, mean, unpaired “t” test. Result and conclusions: Height, weight and chest circumference of municipal school children are having less value as compared to height, weight and chest circumference of private school children.

ABSTRACT

The Current Study was conducted at mortuary complex of Sir T. Hospital, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, during the period of one year 01 Nov. 2009 to 30 Oct. 2010. In this study total 103 cases (72 Male, 31 Female) were selected as per Inclusion & Exclusion criteria. The data collected is tabulated, subjected to statistical analysis and then compared with standard Indian texts and the earlier studies. Brain weight in the region was noted to be 1.98% – 1.76% of body weight and also weight of spleen was noted to be 0.26% - 0.16% of body weight averagely, both of which are higher than data given in the textbooks. Whereas the Right lung weight and Left Lung weight was noted to be 0.90% - 0.66 % & 0.82% – 0.60% of body weight respectively, which is lower than the textbooks. All factors which are responsible for such differences, demands further research.

ABSTRACT

Se realizó un estudio a un grupo de 294 embarazadas con el fin de conocer las posibles variaciones de los niveles de lípidos y lipoproteínas que ocurren durante la gestación, según la adecuación del peso corporal, se determinaron las concentraciones de colesterol total, triglicéridos, fosfolípidos y el colesterol de lipoproteínas de alta densidad en suero sanguineo. El tratamiento estadístico incluypo la comparación de medias según el trimestre de embarazo y el porcentaje de la adecuación del peso corporal mediante el análisis de varianza de clasificación simple
