Hydatid cyst presenting as a breast lump.

We report a 33-year-old woman who presented with a breast lump which, on pathological examination, was found to be a hydatid cyst. There was no evidence of any coexistent lesion elsewhere. To our knowledge, this represents the first case of hydatid disease of the breast reported from Nepal.

Histological preparation of the Echinococcus sp: tapeworms; staining affinity of the adult form

Treinta ejemplares de cestodes Echinococcus sp., obtenidos por tratamiento antihelmíntico, usando bromhidrato de arecolina, de un perro procedente de una región de endemia hidatídica, fueron fijados en formalina al 10%. El material fue procesado histológicamente por un método manual rápido y teñido usando once técnicas diferentes. La tinción verde tricroma, modificante como en el presente estudio, permitió la observación de un gran número de estructuras de cestodes Echinococcus sp
